Captain’s Lodge Coffee Shop

This is my favorite place to go for breakfast, hands down. I’m boring: I get the same thing every single time. I usually browse the menu, drive myself crazy looking at the yummy options, and end up ordering my usual. What can I say? I’m a sucker for scrambled eggs, and this place does scrambled eggs perfectly. If you’re a pancake eater, the pancakes here are HUGE. If I were to order even one, I know I’d never manage to finish it and eat anything else I ordered.
Weekends are busy, of course. It’s not a very big place, so it fills up quick.
Service here is pretty good, even when it’s busy. I once saw a (freakishly big) spider crawling on the ceiling and worried about it dropping down on me, and the waitress suggested that we move to another table, saying that she’d want to move too.
Everything is pretty cheap, and the quality of the food is great. The one downside is the price of bacon. It’s just too much for the amount they give you. (But it’s been a while since I’ve ordered bacon there, so for all I know, they give a more generous serving now.)
