Gloucester Elks

The venue was beautiful for our wedding but the event coordinator was horrendous. She was pushy and annoying the entire evening. It didn’t help that she broke our champagne glasses. I would definitely use the venue again but set some limits with the coordinator.

We just had our wedding here this past weekend. It was better than I could have dreamed. The Elks is beautiful and spacious inside and if you’re lucky like me and get the nice weather, it is beautiful out on the lawn for a ceremony. People commented that they felt like they were on the ocean. Inside with the large windows, the view is just stunning with the backdrop of the ocean outside. There is a bridal suite up the beautiful wooden staircase where I was able to get ready with my bridesmaids. there are couches and a big table up there for snacks and beauty supplies and resting.
Faye and Bronwen were very accommodating and helpful. Faye was there with us the whole time and helped set up the room with my bridal party and kept everything organized and kept me calm with her friendly demeanor. They were very helpful ad accommodating to all my requests and changes and made sure the room was set up just the way I asked. What a great day!
The caterer we used through the Elks was Creative Catering — people are still talking about how wonderful the food was. They even brought food outside for us while we were photo shooting. I will also be writing a review for them — they were also super awesome. Thank you for making my dream wedding even better than I imagined !!!

That is… if u dont mind cars beeping at you and yelling «woohoooo» out their car windows as they drive by. Since the road is between the beach and the venue. Like many other venues in Gloucester.
Outside was really pretty and ready for all guests to sit and relax while waiting for everything to begin!

Hors d’oeuvres were AMAZING!!! Lemon chicken skewers, crab cakes, veggie pot stickers, raspberry brie puffs, coconut shrimp! All delicious!!! Staff was amazing with bringing around plenty of them! I tasted everything! I have been to weddings where I got only maybe one or two hors d’oeuvres but… no lack of them here at the Elks!!!
Food was fantastic! Bread was warm and soft… salads were very fresh and flavorful! My boyfriend and I both got the filet! Very good! Drinks were great too! Dance floor was great!
Only issue: the staff cleared dishes a little to quickly… taking drinks half full while we danced and cleared off all our belongings before we left… we lost pics from our photo booth bc of this :/​but oh well! They were efficient!!!
We would def recommend weddings here! They aren’t kidding when they say The Elks at Bass… ROCKS!!!

What a nice venue to have a wedding on the water! The space was simple yet elegantly decorated, and the catering and event services were top-​notch.
Heads up to any guests of a venue at the Elks — there are benches across the way overlooking the water that are property of the neighboring inn, which means Elks guests can’t use them.
