I’m not one to write a bad review unless it is truly warranted. My fiancé and I went in to order two Slush Puppies, and the service was not only incredibly slow(lack of communication between the two workers), but very poor. We were not greeted at any point during our short visit, and we were just stared at as we looked at the board which held the options. We asked a couple of very simple questions(an example of the cup sizes for Slush Puppies versus regular ice cream cups) and the rude response only implied that we were inconveniencing them. I’m not sure if the machine was working incorrectly or not, but our Slush Puppies were quite literally mounds of syrup and a little bit of water with a few chips of ice. After paying, we were glared at silently until we exited, vastly uncomfortable with our overall experience. A waste of even the little money we spent and an entirely unpleasant visit.

Maybe I’ve been spoiled by ice cream /frozen yogurt places in Boston, but it’s really annoying that they don’t allow samples here. Okay, look: I understand that some kids might try to sample nine flavors or something. Why not inform the customer that they’re allowed to try one or two but no more than that? I wanted to try the cake batter flavor. Nope. «But it’s *really* sweet,» said the girl behind the counter. Uh… no. I disagree. Worst cake batter ice cream EVER. If you had let me try half a spoonful, I would have gotten a flavor I knew I liked. One that, you know, I wouldn’t have even needed to sample. My other complaint is that they seem to skimp on the sprinkles — not all the time, but consistently enough that I don’t want to even risk it. That being said… most of the people who work there are friendly, the prices are decent, and it’s in a good location. But if I have a choice, and I usually do, I’ll go to The Cupboard.

This is the worst ice cream place we have ever been too. First of all there is no service! Second, they do not give out samples?! That may be due to the fact that if you taste their ice cream, you probably would not buy it! Yes, it is that bad. My two kids did not want to eat their ice cream after the first lick! Go somewhere else for ice cream! We had moose track, coffee and cherry vanilla flavor. All were nasty. Store bought ice cream is better than this place. T

i’m going to say this is one of my favorite places to get ice cream in gloucester. the reason is that they have several options for soft serve frozen yogurt. they have lots of ice cream to choose from as well, but i’d say this is the best/only(?) place to go if you want frozen yogurt variety. also, it’s frozen yogurt that doesn’t taste like shit. they have an amazing selection of toppings/candy for flurries(or whatever they call them there, i forget. the things where they take soft serve and mix in candy). i recommend the vanilla or chocolate frozen yogurt with reese’s peanut butter cups. what what! so good. plus, the staff is very competent. you see the same faces every summer, whereas most of the other places around gloucester have random kids that come and go with the seasons. knowing your role is surprisingly important when it comes to ice cream… says the Unilocal fatty. prices are decent here and you get a lot for your money. there tends to always be people waiting in line but it moves fast and the place is super air-conditioned, so you’re not sweltering in the summer heat as you wait. much appreciated!
