Patriot Wave Charters

If you’ve never been fishing in Salt Water, I would strongly encourage you to give Patriot Wave Charters the opportunity to have a great experience and learn the tricks of the trade.
Foremost, I must admit, that the experience was more deserving of a 4 Star rating, but the value of the charter for the price, deserves the praises of Patriot Wave Charters to be shouted from the rooftops. I dare you find such a personal experience for a comparable price!
Capt. Lou and his brother Larry, natives of Gloucester, and have lots of stories to tell, history of Gloucester, growin up there etc. However, when it came to explaining what was going to happen when we put the line in the water and what happened next, it would have been beneficial if they could have spent some of the idle time getting us up to speed on what was going to happen and what we should be doing, when we get a bit, a nibble, etc. Whenever the action hit, there was complete mayhem and a slew of instructions that would have been handy a few minutes earlier when nothing was happening.
Lou and Larry did a great job at finding us some fish, it took quite a while, but they didn’t hang around long in the spots where with no action. They work hard to get us on the next likely spots. It put our half day trip off to a slow start, but hey, fishing is fishing, and there are days that you just strike out – sorry Brian E. Their determination paid off, and we did have a fine time catching bait fish, and then went to a couple of other spots for Stripers. It was in the final hour that we had 5 stripers on the hook. The subtle one line tidbits of advice began to piece together and make some sense during this final hour.
We were a party of three, Father, Mother and 9 yr old boy (with great patience for fishing). We wanted to go last year, but a storm was in the forecase while we were in Gloucester, so the enthusiasm for this trip was off the charts. We were glad to go with them this time around. When it was all over, we brought home a couple of fish, some great pictures, and made some lifelong memories.

Best fishing day of my life! So, my dad came up for the Labor Day weekend to go fishing and I stumbled across Patriot Wave Charters, mainly for the price… you can’t beat the price for 5 hours (½ day) compared to the surrounding competition.
This particular trip left Capt. Lou w/​o a first mate, but it wasn’t a problem at all. He gracefully handled both jobs with ease. Capt. Lou was determined to put us on fish and he was just as excited as we were when we started to catch.
THE CATCH
I wasn’t lying when I said this was the best fishing day in my life. I caught a 46″ Striper! It is by far the biggest fish I have ever caught. After we got that one aboard the fish started to hit one after another all being very decent sizes… Patriot Wave (Capt. Lou was great) is a must, don’t miss out! BOOK NOW

Captain Lou and his Brother Larry were so welcoming to my Father and I. We caught awesome Striper and had a great time doing it. I felt very safe on the boat with Captain Lou at the helm; being Gloucester natives they really knew the spots to hit to bring us home some big fish! Larry also skinned and cleaned the fish for us right on the boat, which was nice because that is certainly not something I could have done.
They were both highly professional, yet relaxed and fun. I would highly recommend this charter.

We hired Patriot Wave Charters as part of a lodge fishing trip and we were very pleased with the experience. Lou and Larry were very well prepared for the trip, having caught a good deal of mackerel bait ahead of time and let us catch some too.
Once we were out on the water, Lou and Larry worked hard to help us land a catch. They were well prepared with chum to help attract the striper to the boat and explained all the proper techniques. We ended up catching 4 striper over 30 inches and it was great fun.
In addition, Lou and Larry were great to talk to and made sure to point out local landmarks and even took us in close to see the fisherman’s monument before heading into the dock.
You wont regret working with Lou and Larry.

My husband booked a ½ day fishing charter with Patriot Wave for my birthday and we had a blast! We do recreational fresh water fishing but deep sea fishing in a whole different ball game. Captain Lou and First Mate/​Brother Larry couldn’t have been more helpful showing us the proper casting and reeling techniques. They showed us how to catch mackerel for bait with which was alot of fun. We caught striper and blue fish which was cleaned and bagged for us, and is as delicious from our freezer now as it was they day we got them. We weren’t able to make another trip during Fall as we had hoped, but will definitely book with them in the spring.
