Pisces

Lots of gift items:
–ornaments at the holiday season
–cards (feminine, I had trouble finding a birthday card that wasn’t too frou frou)
–table candles
–jewelry
–Some casual women’s clothes (my mom loves the cotton sweaters)
–a cute baby section with onesies and shower gifts like lovies, hats, etc.
I occasionally find something cute here, but it’s often a luck of the draw. I think it’s a great shop for people who decorate with beachy tchotchkes and those «Life is Better on the Beach» painted driftwood, lots of seaglass and starfish motif items. And there are some high quality items and pretty jewlery, it just isn’t my taste. Feels a bit too turquoise and pink for me.

Rant of the Day: Do NOT go to PISCES in GLOUCESTER. The store owner was incredibly rude. I walked into a sweltering store today and the owner didn’t greet me, offer to help me find anything, etc. After I found a cute, albeit overly priced item, I went to the counter to purchase the gift. I asked for a box and she said she didn’t have one small enough. So then I said a larger one would be fine because that gift was accompanying another one I had at home. She then said she would only give me a larger box if I paid for it. Mind you, behind the register there were stacks and stacks of all sizes of boxes with the store’s name on them. So she doesn’t want the advertising? I told her I was confused; I’ve spent so much money there over the years on expensive gifts and never had to pay for a box before. She looked at me blankly. This was the owner, whom I’ve never dealt with. I said, thanks but no thanks and promptly left. She snatched it back from me and said, «No, thank you.» Local shops — I’d like to send my money your way but you make it increasingly difficult for me to do so. I will continue to shop at Nordstrom, where I’m greeted when I walk in, offered help, and am given a box at no charge when I ask for one. PISCES — Good luck to you. As a small business owner, you should know better about how to treat your customers. What a shame. I actually gave this place a 5-​star review back in March.

I love this gift store. We come to Gloucester every few months and always stop in to buy something. I have this «Shark» wine opener that all my friends adore. My last trip I purchased some beautiful purple wine glasses, «salad hands», and some blown glass. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and I always find something unique to bring home. Can’t wait for my next trip!

Wonderful gifts! The best shop in Gloucester if you are looking for a wedding gift, house warming gift or a treat for yourself. They also have a limited selection of beautiful clothing (in the $ 95-​$ 150 range) for women and baby items. But my favorite is the unique glassware… wine glasses… martini glasses etc. And those are reasonable…$ 4 — $ 20 each.
