I’ve been meaning to write a review since my visit there last September(2015). Every time that we make our yearly trip back to visit our families in Massachusetts, my husband and I always end up stopping here to pick up some necessities. We are always able to find everything we need and feel that this store has a very good natural foods dept. and good produce, and cheerful help. This last visit, we needed beach towels. It was Labor Day weekend and every place was out of towels. We asked a person stocking shelves if they knew where we might find some beach towels. He got the store manager, Marcus Amann, for us. Marcus was upbeat, kind, and really wanted to help us out. He thought for a minute and went«behind the scenes» to check something out. When he came back, he had 2 awesome and colorful beach towels for us! He said that they had had a display set up over the summer using the towels and that he was just hoping that they had saved them out back, and lucky for us, they had! Thank you again Marcus for making our yearly vacation perfect! You and Shaw’s ROCK! Diana

Overpriced, not enough cashiers. Signs in store promised no more than 3 customers in line at one time. My line had 7. Store tends to open later than posted time. Go elsewhere!

the only thing this store has going for it is their international and healthy-type food section. otherwise it’s like walking into the depression. for the most part the employees seem like they are just there and do not like the place. i much prefer market basket and only go here if there is something that i’ve forgotten as it is closer to my home.

A place for stuff This particular Shaw’s certainly looks like it has been around for a while, kind of beat up and worn but the inside was clean and nicely stocked. The location is the main attraction, easy to find and not that far from Rockport or the beaches. The parking lot was large enough so you will always find a spot. The store has a decent bakery, produce, snacks and even some healthy stuff, everything you could want while on vacation or traveling though the area. When we went the store was empty but I did notice that they had self check lines that are convenient when the store is crowded and humming. A nice, clean and convenient store to find what you need.

This Shaws is at a great location so close to the beach and motels. We were able to bike here whenever we needed something while staying the weekend near good harbor beach. They had a good amount of healthy/natural options for snacks and the delli/bakery area was very clean and well stocked. Everyone who worked there that we encountered where very friendly and helpful. They also have self check out lines(i hate grocery stores that still dont offer self check out). There is a liquor store located right next to the Shaws in the same lot. There is also a rite aid and a nail shop but nothing seemed busy except the grocery store.

I generally like the Shaws chain. The prices are lower and the gluten-free selection is wider than almost any other supermarket. This particular Shaws, however, is special. It has a more extensive stock of gluten-free products than any other supermarket I have ever been to, chain or otherwise. There were at least three entire rows with nothing but GF items from top to bottom. Glorious. So many new things to try, at a reasonable price! That would give this store four stars. The fifth is for their international food section; specifically, the British area. I lived in the UK for eight years — most of my adult life — and there are certain foods I miss dearly. The area is small, but it’s well-stocked; I may not to be able to eat digestives and cream crackers anymore, and I may not like Marmite or brown sauce, but it’s all there. My cravings were satiated by several Bounty bars and a bottle of Lucozade. If only they carried Irn-Bru they’d be the best supermarket in the world, but having a good selection of British food at incredibly reasonable prices is certainly enough to make this store unique.

This Shaw’s is need of an update. The store seems to be one of the orginal stores in the area. I do not know what grocery store was here before the Shaw’s came in. I can tell you, coperate could send out a team to work on the store. This Shaw’s seems to be doing what it can to meet the needs of coporate design standards. What I think really needs to make this place seem better is the mall the store is located in. The mall itself is dated. The Rite aid next door is empty. This does not help Shaw’s out. Shaw’s does need to add more material to it’s selves because the drug store is such bad shape. This is one place it could improve. Produce seems good and fresh, typcial selection of items in the dairy section. There is no shore around which has a good meat section. The Natural Goods section is great to have and carries most everything I need. Sure you could stop by the other major grocer on the other side. But this Shaw’s is right off the main street going from Gloucester to Rockport.
