Over-priced. The staff was not welcoming. Watching two cashiers(both female, not sure of their name) snicker about a customer was embarrassing for everyone who saw it. Not once did an employee welcome m son and I to the store. They just looked at us like, «Ugh, why are you people here?» The«You break it, you buy it» and other signs telling children not to touch are ridiculous. If you don’t want children touching stuff, don’t open up a toy story. Never going back. Rude, Rude, Rude.

This truly is a fabulous neighborhood toy store! Great selection packed from floor to ceiling with just about any toy imaginable. The owner is on site and has an uncanny way of spreading her enthusiasm for her business… you can tell she loves what she does. Forget ToysRus and support a great local business that contributes to the local community. What an asset for downtown Gloucester!

Open since May, this is a great independent toy store. You’ll have as much fun shopping here as your kids will with the toys you buy. Great selection of books, toys, games, and all kinds of stuff. A great store run by terrific people — please support them if you live in the Gloucester area.

Toodleloos is newly opened in downtown Gloucester, where the old Bubbles store used to be located. They’ve made an effort to incorporate the community; they had a suggestion box and allowed children to make tiles(at Glazed, a local pottery center) before they opened to decorate the store with. I think that was a very cool idea and not something you see every day. I passed by today, and they were open so I peaked in. Really nice selection! I love independent toy stores because they tend to offer better quality toys, with a bent toward toys that teach instead of merely entertain. They had some customers so it looks like the locals have noticed their presence too! We need a good toy store in Gloucester. All the cool downtowns have a unique toy store. Pricing was decent, in line with what independent toy stores usually sell their products for. My thought is that you should pay more for some of the higher end products. Not everything should be cheaply made, so I don’t mind slightly higher prices for toys at all. I did not purchase anything, but I would definitely visit Toodleloos before a big box toy store if I needed to buy a gift. Nice addition to downtown Gloucester, thumbs up!
