Place smells of old grease when you walk in. Have only had breakfast here and disappointed. Toast is spread with imitation butter and fried potatoes are a glob of the old grease. Omelets are okay, not a four star chef, but edible. The staff is very friendly and service is great.

Only solid experiences at this diner. Good food, good service and good prices make this a no brainer if in the area. They currently have a dinner deal that offers 2 complete meals, including soup, salad, soft drinks, sides AND desserts for 25 dollars. There are about 7 different main courses to choose from, and they are very good.

The servings are positively gigantic(two hot dogs on the kids plate!), so the idea of sharing a meal should be considered, or grab a to-go box and have tomorrow’s lunch taken care of already. Food was decent, but service(albeit friendly) was slow. We were there for over two hours just for a simple dinner. Many tables around us remained unbussed throughout our time there. It’s got a good location and is popular with locals. Maybe we caught them on a bad night.

I find this restaurant to be hit or miss — — more hit than miss. I have always had a good breakfast there. Recently, my kids and I went for dinner. I the chicken parmesan special. For $ 14, I got a cup of soup, a strictly so-so salad, and a generous helping of chicken and spaghetti. The chicken cutlet had enough grizzle in it to put me off. I had coconut cream pie for dessert, which was quite good. For the area, I’d say it ranks somewhere just above middle of the road.

Well, I made the mistake of going back. I ordered poached eggs, sausage, toast and home fries. It tasted delicious, especially with the good cups of coffee I had been served. The service was fantastic. Several hours later I became quite ill. It was 4 days before I could keep food and water down.

breakfast was great, they know how to cook an egg, but i would have liked to see some influence from their BBQ during breakfast. this seems to be the only place around to get true smoked bbq, however they have nothing on their breakfast menu. I was expecting some house smoked breakfast sausage, or pulled pork hash, but there was nothing :(

Great Hospitality, great food, great service. Has a Mom and Pop feel and they are all very friendly people. Their french toast is OUTOFTHISWORLD! Brown Sugar?

Great food no matter the meal. We have been for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Overall a solid place to eat. Never had problems waiting for food. Likely to go again later this week.

The food was horrible. My soup was cold and looked like it had just come out of the can. Server told us, she had not and would not eat there. I will not try it again.

Had a poor experience here — again — for breakfast today. Place was crowded, which we thought was a good sign, but after ordering it took more than 30 minutes for our breakfast and everything came out cold(for all 7 of us). The waitress didn’t come back once to check on our drinks, either. Cold eggs, cold potatoes, what tasted and looked like microwave bacon… not worth the cost of eating out.

One hundred grandparents can’t be wrong… Located around the corner and down the hill from Walmart, Travers Diner has a menu with great variety, casual friendly service, and insanely generous meals. Having visited a number of fancy, highfalutin restaurants, I’m always struck at how a diner can offer American, Greek, Italian, and other cuisines and do them all well. Likewise, I love how most of their specials are less than $ 15, but you’ll get the entrée, soup, salad, dessert, and a a glass of wine, all included. If you’re 65 and trying to stretch your Social Security check, you’ll be in good company here, but I’ve also noticed a growing younger crowd that appreciates a quality meal at a fair price just as much. My personal favorite meals are off of the 2 for $ 25 meals. Here, you’ll get the soup and(not or) salad, as well as a choice between a slice of pie/dessert or an appetizer. My inner seven year old loves chicken fingers, so having the option to get these as my appetizer, plus meatloaf, eggplant parmesan, or steak, always leaves me very full and with a takeout box to eat later. Perhaps it’s because I’ve been so spoiled with the rest of their menu(and barbecues in North Carolina, Texas, and Rochester), but I was comparatively less impressed with The Pit, their barbecue restaurant that opened a little over a year ago. By default, they are the best barbecue in town, but I found myself still a little hungry after finishing the pulled pork and two sides. While I really enjoyed the corn bread, I was definitely disappointed with the barbecue sauce. I really enjoy a sauce that has tanginess and a bit of a kick to it, but this was pure sweetness, similar to a Sweet Baby Ray’s, which is fine when I’m at home and want something to dip my chicken fingers(I told you I liked them) in, but I have a higher standard for my barbecue restaurants. That being said, I’ve never been disappointed when branching off into the regular menu, and their Greek specialities such as the spanakopita are fantastic and the servers are almost always have a smile on their face.

Haven’t been to Traver’s since they added a BBQ pit, last time I went the food was good and the place clean, lots of good specials with good service. I had the turkey Reuben.

I’ve eaten at Travers multiple times and love it! The food is always great and the staff very friendly, I also find the prices to be quite reasonable for such generous portions. Parking is plentiful and the lot is easy to pull in and out of. I hope to live in the Gloversville area one day and Travers will be seeing much more of me. If you’re tired of typical chain restaurants and want a dining experience with hometown atmosphere then I recommend you give Travers a try. Patrick W.

I really like Travers Diner. They have a huge selection to choose from and they serve breakfast all day long. My husband and I really like the Chicken Paninis. The BBQ is the best. Most meals are under $ 12 dollars and most come with soup/salad and a dessert.

This is what IHOP should be! Decent fresh inexpensive grub and good service. The breakfasts are decent, think IHOP but better, much better. Plus they do some greek style food which is a nice change, I like their Gyros which aren’t bad and the Tazaki sauce is flavourful. But, be prepared to feel like the youngest person in the place!
