The food is always good. I had the pasta special and it was delicious. The setting was large enough, I was able to take the rest home and have ire the next day for lunch. The servers are friendly and attentive.

We love the Regal Beagle! It looks so nice after the facelift the new owner’s gave it. The deck is a cool place to hang out. I like the heat lamps. We can go there late winter/early spring and feel like we are outside but not freeze. We usually get the appetizers. I love love love the Mushroom Nantua. It’s a MUST if you like mushrooms. The kabobs are pretty good as well. Cold beer! Tasty food! What else could ya ask for?

Pretty good meal. The Italian sandwich was great but the burger was just ok. A bit pricey for what you get.

Having the blue kabob and house salad. The blue kabob is sooo good, fillet on a kabob stick covered in blue cheese sauce !!! AWESOME. Problem is the waitresses. Some are great and some have no skills or focus. Choose wisely !!!

The Regal Beagle is a great place, I’m not from the area and spend a few days a month around this area on work projects, and this is a place I came back to, two nights in a row. First time had an outstanding signature sandwich that is heated up in the wood oven, very fresh and tasty. The second night a went for the wood oven pizza, so many to choose from and the crust is so chewy fresh and the woman sitting next to me at the bar said it smells great. Took back a couple pieces to a co worker and he loved it too. Great spot.

Great atmosphere. Great location. Salads are what I usually order. They have excellent salads. Service was quick & friendly.

Warning: You will not see Jack, Janet or Chrissy sitting at the bar and Jack will not be working the kitchen. This is a hometown sports bar that is all about cold craft beer and good pub food. It’s a great place to gather with friends, or as in my case cousins. The variety of beers is vast and it is always served in a frosted glass. They serve up some better then average pub food. Their burgers are thick and juicy and the variety of pizzas available can put some pizza restaurants to shame. If you are in the Alton or Godfrey area and want a bar to have a fun time with your friends or family, I highly recommend the Regal Beagle.

The food is very good. The waitresses are usually friendly. There seems to be a high turnover. They have good craft beers on tap. The patio is a nice space but can get smoky.

Great open air sports bar. We live in Chicago but come to Godfrey to visit family. Wide ranging menu, all ages, and busy on weekends. Great place to watch a game or kick back on the weekend.

I am a local resident who has frequented this sports bar several times. The food is good, except I’m not so thrilled with the pizza. Appetizers are outstanding and there are plenty of television monitors. Sometimes the live entertainment is good, while other times it is painful. My biggest criticism and why I have ranked them low is the service. It’s like they hire any warm body off the street and give them no training whatsoever. Yesterday I sat for 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged I was there. A server came by with a menu and asked what I wanted to drink. I asked for a Bud Light and she disappeared. Mind you I was in the outside seating a mere couple of steps from the bar. Bartender was standing around chatting with other servers and I never saw my server again. Finally I grabbed the attention of another server who immediately got my beer and said«I’m not sure where the other girl went but I’m not going to chase her down. I’ll take your order». I was appreciative that another took the place of an AWOL server, but I doubt that would have happened if I hadn’t said something. This isn’t the first time I’ve been there where I felt like I must be invisible. I really doubt I’ll be back.

We’ve been here three times now. First off the concept of the place is good. The inside bar is nice and big and well stocked! The menu looks great and there are plenty if choices… Maybe too many. However the downfall of this place is the cleanliness and waitstaff. Floors are always looking like they need swept, napkin holding tray on tables always have crumbs in them. Bathroom trash can is always running over and I’m sorry we don’t need newspapers tacked up on a board in the bathroom! The waitresses don’t come around enough to check on you either. The food is ok but I feel if the menu was cut in half then the quality would go up! On top of this we spoke to one of the managers and offered him some constructive criticism. He told us they get told this stuff a lot … Well gee then why don’t you do something about it! On top of that while we were talking to him 2 waitress come over and interrupt us to talk about drama between them and another waitress!!! I mean no respect at all… They just stuck their finger out in a «one minute«type motion… And the so called manager just let’s them get away with it!!! Total lack of management or professionalism in my opinion! A nice place that could go to 5 stars if they’d keep it clean and pay attention to it’s customers!

My wife and i have lived in Alton for a couple months, and we’re super glad we’ve found this place after multiple disappointing experiences at local restaurants. The parking lot was packed, yet the place still had plenty of comfortable room. Plenty of high definition TVs everywhere to watch the Cards game. Food. BOOM. My wife got a wrap on special and I got the regal sandwich… seriously, about the best fucking sammich I’ve ever had. My wife loved her wrap. Great service, bartender agreed with outr opinions about local restaurants, which included how God awful Tony’s in downtown Alton is, while recommending several places that seem right up our alley. Just a great place with a great atmosphere and food the blows away anywhere else in Alton.

My fiancée and I go here a few times a month. There are a lot of options on the menu, but we usually get the southwest chicken wrap and the Philly sandwich. The quality of the food varies from really good to just average, depending on how busy it is. The service is average. There is a large outdoor eating area with its own bar service.

We went back for lunch today. Todays special chicken bacon taco, the only thing that would have made this better was if it was dipped in chocolate. Holy cow, this place gets better each visit. Diced chicken, shredded bacon, lettuce, diced tomatoes with salsa and sour cream on the side. Three tacos for $ 7. OMG

The owner(s) invested alot of money in remodeling the interior and I think that it was money well spent. I have been to Roper’s before but today was the first since the remodel. I always enjoy the pizza there. They did botch our sauce’s on our pizzas but they were still excellent. They corrected one but not the other(I actually liked mine as it was). It’s a good place to go.

Went there on a Wednesday night, was looking very forward to it. I ordered a grilled chicken entrée, it came with the salad bar. Ok sounds good right? I walked up to the salad bar, no lettuce, no soup, and very few veggies. I went back to the table and waited, 5 or so minutes later I went back to get my salad, nothing had been filled. By the time our food came(approximately 20 minutes later) the salad bar had finally been filled. I mentioned it to the server several times, however seems she was too busy with her phone. Overall I had a bad first experience. The place has potential but needs serious management help! Food was decent when it finally arrived, but service was mediocre.

It’s not a bad place. Their patio is a nice place to hang out and drink a few brews with friends. I had the pizza here once, and it was pretty good. I have to say, though, that I don’t come here very often when I’m in Alton/Godfrey because of how it’s been like a high school reunion with the people you liked least. If you’re in your 20s and went to Alton High, and you come on a Friday or Saturday, chances are you’re going to run into one of those douchebags you hated growing up. For that reason — the clientele — I’m giving it three instead of 4 stars.

So I was here last weekend, June 23rd. The day of the Susan G. Komen race in St Louis. The group decided to stop in here for lunch and it was good. Even though I was still full from my Shakeology at breakfast, a beer on the walk(Rye IPA from Buffalo Brewing Co). I decided to go with what I thought was going go to be a small appetizer. It was not small but it was delicious. I got the Southwestern Egg Rolls and they were great. I loved that it came with a big salad in between the egg rolls. I told myself I would only eat half and save the rest for later. That ended up not happening because next thing you know, I looked at my plate and it was empty. I had eaten it all. The service was also very good. I love an attentive server. She made a good tip from our table. I do recommend going there, everything that everyone at my table had was good. Not one complaint at the entire table.

I’m a bit torn here. I want to give it 5 stars… but then again I don’t, but don’t have a good reason. Been here a couple times, most recent was Saturday, which happened to be their 8th anniversary party. We swung by for dinner, but only had a couple apps and drinks as we had visitors heading over to the house earlier than expected. After they left, we pointed the car in the Regal Beagle’s direction. DRINKS: — well priced and good sized. The wine is poured by the glass, not by the ounce. The glass was FULL, great value on a good wine. They had a good beer selection and the price was ok. FOOD: It was good. not gourmet amazing, but filled me up. We had some potato skins and toasted ravioli, both of which hit the spot. For dinner I had the loaded potato topped with pork. The pork was good enough and the potato was well sized. It did have a bit too much cheese for me, but wasn’t enough to ruin it. Everyone else said their food was good. SERVICE: Service was good, kept us filled and came back to check on us, both times we were here. We will be back when back in town

Now that we’ve been living in the area for longer, I figured I should update my review on Roper’s. They now serve«wood-fired» pizzas and to their credit, you can definitely smell the wood burning smell when you walk in. The pizza my husband ordered was so-so — large chunks of meat, excellent fresh mozz but the crust was soggy. And half of the pie was taken up with a huge bubble that was a little less than appetizing. The last two times I’ve been there, I’ve ordered the same thing — southwest rolls and a pepperloin kabob. Both are top-notch. Honestly, the rolls are your run of the mill southwest rolls, but they are served over a roasted corn/salad mix that is excellent. And the kabobs? Amazing. It’s a good taste of pepperloin for 3.99. They DO take credit cards now, which is nice. I wish they had a kids menu, or at least an option or two, as they tout themselves as a great place to bring the family and watch the game.
