I’ve been going to The Joint for 2 years now. I got to several location, but I’m always stoked when I come to Gold River and see Dr. Mauvais. His adjustments have a long term impact.

I actually pass another location to come see Dr. Mauvais is on a weekly basis. As a life long chiro advocate, but weary of pop up «auto accident» practitioners, I was very happy to find The Joint and specifically Dr. Mauvais.

We’ve been coming to this location seeing Dr. Mauvais #thejointgoldriver for quite some time now. Staff is super friendly and the adjustments always hit the spot and make us feel relaxed. We’ll be regulars for a long time to come.

I’ve been coming here for about a year now and the staff is very helpful and friendly! I love that I can just walk in without an appointment and be in and out in a few minutes. It’s very convenient for my busy schedule and the service is superior.

Dr. Mauvais is awesome! Everyone there is friendly and genuine. I tried them because their prices are so reasonable, but I stayed because they really help me. Anyone looking for a new chiropractor or thinking about trying one should definitely stop in.

I have lived in chronic neck pain for years! After my long time Chiropractor retired, I was in desperate need to find a new one. After hearing about The Joint, I walked in and instantly Dr. Mauvais was very helpful and positive about being able to ease my pain! I highly recommend The Joint!

Dr. Mauvais and Dr. Carlson are awesome. They pay attention to what your needs are and ensure you are leaving better than you came in. We have had the pleasure of working with both doctors. They send us home with assignments of stretching and yoga moves to better our life style and flexibility. The Joint is awesome and if your a traveler there is a probably a The Joint near by as they are always expanding to new locations from what I’ve noticed. Thanks docs we will be back.

Dr. Mauvais is a rockstar! I have had serious neck and hip problems my entire young adulthood. In the first six weeks of treatment I have already noticed a huge difference. He explains everything to me and has recommended some stretches to help in between sessions. Receptionist is a sweetheart and makes signing up super easy.

I have historically been sceptical about chiropractic medicine. Since the joint is so affordable I decided to give it a chance on my long standing neck issues
I’ve been seen by two doctors at this location and they were both fantastic. They are knowledgeable, thorough and effective. I notice a change in just under a months time.

Found this place after trying out another chiropracter in groupon that gave me a 6 month treatment plan quote for $ 5000.
I was a little bit skeptical of The Joint because the price seemed to good to be real. I was pleasantly suprised, you can set it up to pay monthly automatically and you get 4 visits for $ 69. The best part is no appointments, you just drop in. I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes and all three doctors are good. I’ve definitely felt a difference in the past two weeks that I’ve been going.
The person working the front desk is also super friendly and makes you feel comfortable trying it out and no pressure to sign up.

The chiropractors at this location are amateurs. I came here in January for a pinched nerve and after coming in weekly for 10 weeks I wasn’t any closer to relief. They were not able to properly help me, and one of the chiropractors sent my pain through the roof by applying hard pressure to the area around the pinched nerve, which is NOT something he should have done. They have a computer screen that displays client info for the Chiropractor to look at before adjusting and they are able to write notes on each customer profile. Yet EVERY time I went in there I had to explain my situation all over again. By mid March I was fed up and stopped going. I wasted my time and money going there. They were not able to help me relieve the pinched nerve in my shoulder. I do not recommend The Joint.

I’ve been coming here since they opened. I can honestly say that it’s made a difference in my life. It helps me with back and neck discomfort. It also helps relieve stress. The price for 4 adjustments per month is unbeatable. Great location, good staff, and good practitioner.

Absolutely impressed. I went in today after being in some of the worst pain of my life next to childbirth due to a lower back strain which is sitting on a nerve. The office girl was SO kind! She helped me into a seat as I can hardly walk, assisted me with the paperwork and got me back immediately. I felt completely welcomed. I went to the back shortly after with my rambunctious 7 year old and he was treated with respect which can be hit or miss with doctors or other professionals. Often times they are rude and obviously annoyed. This DR was not, or at least did not show it. He was patient with me, he truly took the time to assess me and my back, he adjusted my neck and was extremely gentle, only doing what my back could handle. I was there for probably an hour, he iced my back and sat with me helping me up – truly the worst pain I’ve experienced in my back, ever. He was so caring and thorough, and… he did not charge me for this service. Not a dime! I will return Monday when my back has healed a bit more. I will continue to see these DR’s after my back has healed and they have absolutely eased my fears of chiropractors.

The Joint in Gold River is my first experience with chiropractic care and I am so pleased with the entire experience, most of all the level of pain relief in my lower back. For the last year or more I’ve been experiencing increasing pain due to scoliosis and aging (I’m 66). I’ve been really active and the intense pain has made me pay a high price when I do the things I enjoy (like horseback riding, playing with grandkids and maintaining 3 acres). It hurt to sit, bend, even lie down. I’ve been a skeptic of chiropractors so I went with conventional medical «treatment» with very limited success. Finally I took the plunge, went to The Joint and what a surprise! Immediate relief! If I improve to the point where I regain the quality of life I had a couple of years ago, I’ll be forever grateful.

I’ve been going to The Joint for the past few months and it’s been great. I have dabbled in trying chiropractic services before, but it was something that I couldn’t sustain due to costs. I stumbled into The Joint on a friends recommendation and it was completely worth it. The costs for the services were reasonable (much cheaper than I had expected) and I always felt genuinely welcomed and well treated by the staff.
I have been working in IT for the past few years, and sitting at a desk day in day out has started to take a toll on my neck, wrists, and lower back. The weekly adjustments have been working wonders. I felt relief immediately, but I wasn’t sure if anything was changing in the long term. I ended up missing a couple of weeks due to some prior commitments and man, I felt the difference. I started feeling all, crunchy and weird. Just kinda. off. Not good man. Needless to say, I started going back and I’m feeling right as rain. My wrist pain also seems to have completely subsided.
Anywho, I don’t really write reviews that often but The Joint really helped me out and I’d like to share the love. The adjustments are great and the customer service has always been very pleasant, and very quick (I’m usually in and out in about 20 minutes, which is awesome). I’d highly recommend it.

Never have I ever received such quality chiropractic care for such a truly affordable price. I love the way this place is set up, and I love that I can go to any location (I was vacationing in LA and had a migraine so I popped into a clinic down there and got adjusted at no extra charge to my account!), although I go out of my way to come to this location. Dr. Mauvais has patiently gotten to know the complexities of my spine and we’ve been working together to heal my sciatic nerve pain and migraines for a little over a year now. The staff is ultra friendly and laid-​back and the doctors are dedicated to health and solutions. Highly recommended to at least try out for a few visits — if you love it, you’ll end up saving tons of money as compared to other chiropractic clinics! Plus you’ll have the flexibility of locations… If only they had a location downtown!

The service itself was not so bad although after 6 months of weekly adjustments i still have back pain. Chiropractic care is not as effective as it’s practitioners made it out to be.
Also the 6 month subscription is a bit misleading, they say that its for 6 months but they continue to charge you even if you don’t use their services any more. They won’t refund you either. Shrewd business tactics that you would think belong at a used car dealership, not a place to receive health care.

This place is a God-​send to me. Ever since I had xrays done from a chiropractor at the home show about 5 years ago, I have been intensely getting adjusted by various chiropractors. The xrays showed an old fracture in the lumbar and whiplash and scoliosis with degenerating arthritic spurs developing. My pain level and activity was deteriorating steadily the years leading up to this discovery. I thought it was old age creeping up on me! I was 40!!! I had no idea how much damage I had done in my 20s, waterskiing, dirtbikes, snowboarding, you name it! I cried when I saw what the xrays revealed since it looked EXACTLY like I felt! HORRIBLE
I wanted to avoid medical doctors and surgery at all costs and give chiropractic a full shot. I have been seeing 3 different chiropractors until they moved or retired only to hit rock bottom after making progress (expensive progress) over months and years. If you have chronic pain THIS PLACE IS THE ANSWER!!! YOU CAN’T GET THIS MUCH ATTENTION OR GET ADJUSTED AS OFTEN FOR LESS ANYWHERE. And Dr. Mauvais is GREAT! I am very difficult to adjust from my years of being so twisted and tight that I had to take muscle relaxers with other chiropractors so that the unsuccessful adjustments didn’t build up. Dr Mauvais’s skills adjusted me right the very FIRST time! I was so excited at what this was going to mean to me! AND how much money this will save me because I have been paying thousands for the past few years. This new approach to chiropractic cares allows people to go regularly and affordably based on your own needs. More intensely at the beginning is recommended to start feeling results.
Chiropractic is like «working out at the gym» for your spine. Each adjustment builds on the last and sometimes you’re sore from your gym workout if you haven’t done it a while. but you keep going and doing it and it gets easier and you feel better! Chiropractic is the same way!!!

I have dealt with back pain most of my adult life. Started going to The Joint about 3 months ago. I love that its fast and I feel better after each appointment. I can go in tell the Dr where it’s hurting and he pops me back into place. :) I tell all my friends and family. I will be a life long patient.

This place is amazing. The doctors are wonderful, and so are the receptionists (especially Destiny!). It’s affordable, too; the first appointment is only $ 20, maybe ten minutes, and it was so worth it. They also have a monthly plan, which pay for themselves if you do any kind of physical work. They’re very flexible and accommodating; they put your needs before anything else. They remember me, my name and my life and everything. They’re wonderful, and I always feel welcome and comfortable.
I have Crohn’s disease– lots of stomach pain, lots of back pain, each one complicating the other. I’m also a full-​time waitress, so that does nothing good for my back. I have a Norco prescription, but I don’t want to be dependent on drugs to function on a daily basis. The first time I went in, I was nervous… but I left with my back feeling a thousand times better than it had for months, maybe years. Now I go in whenever I have the time, and an adjustment (ten minutes, tops) can clear up problems I’ve let sit for weeks. It makes me do better at work, which increases my performance and my paycheck– literally paying for my membership.
I love this place, and I appreciate the people there. Very much worth it.

There’s a reason this place has five stars– from start to finish, every step of the way is a five star experience. I absolutely can’t think of a way to emphasise this more.
First of all, by day two they already knew me by name! The receptionists are both absolutely wonderful ladies. Instead of the clinical check in/​out appointment robots you meet at other places, you can tell that when you’re greeted and asked how you are, it’s not because they HAVE to or they’re being polite. Real people, genuinely asking how you’re doing today because they want to know. After going to doctor after doctor and being roundly ignored by dozens of receptionists, I feel like I’m stopping in to say hi to friends or even… well… family! Yeah, it’s corny, I know, but saying hi and talking for a minute or two is definitely part of why I love coming here.
Onto the meat of it– Dr. Mauvais caught something my PCP didn’t. Whereas I had TWO doctors dismiss my pain as muscular issues, he correctly diagnosed a potential disc injury and pushed for an MRI, and wouldn’t you know it, he was right. I can’t thank him enough, and a Unilocal review certainly isn’t going to cut it, but it’s the best I have.
Without him, I wouldn’t be on the road to recovery. In fact, I’d probably be in bed, missing more work, wondering if I’d ever be out of pain. While I’ve got a ways before I feel better, Dr. Mauvais has been the crux of my support since day one, and is the biggest reason I’m going to recover. Not to mention he’s just an all around amazing guy with an amazing sense of humour. He explains everything about how your back works without ever being condescending, and listens to your concerns. He doesn’t just nod and dismiss you, he explains why you’re right/​wrong, and has actual discussions about whatever you want/​need to know.
Look– the price is right, it’s an entire establishment of people who actually want you to feel better, and everyone who works here is sharp as a tack. I could gush and gush, but I suggest you come here and feel better for yourself already.

This place is hands down the best Joint I’ve been to! I’ve had a membership to the Joint for several months now and have tried almost every location in the area and this one is my favorite. The staff is incredibly friendly and professional. You feel welcome every time you walk in, and even better every time you walk out. Dr. Mauvais does a great adjustment and is the coolest person. After your first visit here, you will most likely end up getting a membership.

Updated August 2015. I’ve continued getting regular adjustments from The Joint and my back pain has stayed away nearly 100%, I’ve even run a half marathon and am training for the CIM! It isn’t an overstatement to say that working with The Joint has helped me regain my vitality, endurance and physical fitness. I came in a few weeks ago after a weekend of home improvement left me barely able to crawl into the office. Dr. Troy did an assessment and came up with a treatment plan very quickly. Because My back was ultra tender he was very gentle and utilized alternatives to manual adjustment. My pain was much reduced after the first visit and after the third my back was almost back to its normal state. I’ve continued treatment for the past three weeks and am very pleased that the chronic achyness and stiffness I’ve had for a few years in my lower back and hips is nearly completely gone! I think this place is great, their focus is on helping you maintain healthy alignment, reduce pain and stay active. Their pricing scheme makes it feasible and convenient to have regular adjustments. The office atmosphere including the staff make this a warm, welcoming and friendly place to visit. I highly recommend The Joint in Gold River!

So I learned about the joint from my friend. I unfortunately have been to several chiropractors over the years. My first time coming here was really good I met with Dr. Movay, who Who took the time to speak with me and do an good assessment.
I go there on a regular basis to keep myself healthy along with my fiancé. The care here it is excellent as well as the customer service.
I would recommend the joint to anyone that is looking for a good reliable chiropractor.

Smooth to sign up, check in, etc. Low monthly fee of $ 49 and that includes 4 adjustments in a month. I have my teen and grandma on my plan, too. Much cheaper to have them on my account than taking them in rarely for a new consultation. Open every day of the week and walk in only, so I can stop by any time I think I need it. I’ve been paying $ 45 a squish for years with my other chiropractors who had more limited hours. I don’t like long appointments. I also have a monthly subscription to massage envy and stretch daily. I can heat and ice and do some pressure release at home, but I can’t do a proper stretch if I’m not in alignment. I’m a nurse and do a lot of heavy lifting and 12 hour shifts. This place keeps me in good form so I can enjoy my days off and stay active instead of couch potatoing it due to pain. I like to come here after a pressure point massage while everything is loose. I don’t usually use my 4 adjustments per month, but if I use 2, saving a lot of money! Even better is when I do need extra care, it usually is part of my 4 or a few dollars (I think I payed $ 12 for an extra adjustment last time.) This location in a shopping center means I can fit it in between errands. I love that they have a computerized system so u can visit random locations while traveling and they know my care plan, history, etc. I always feel safe taking my grandma in to any of the joints, and we’ve been to 3 locations with her. It has helped tremendously with her sciatica.

Very friendly and accommodating! Love that I can just walk in and be seen immediately! I hate making appointments so that works great for me. They actually seem to care about me and what is wrong with my back. It’s affordable, convenient and works. How can you go wrong?

I walked into this place on a whim while on a Starbucks run. Ok, it was actually a Starbucks sit-​and-​stay-​awhile sipping my coffee with care and measuring my timing to order a refill to avoid a long line. I was taking it easy that day because it was my birthday and I made it a point to have a «stop and smell the roses» kind of day. I am pretty sure on any other day I would have missed out on the opportunity to discover The Joint. You see because of my chosen attitude that day I took a slow walk down the strip mall promenade to see everything The Gold River Town Centre had to offer. The name, The Joint, made me think maybe it a chic little place to have a cocktail and or a bite to eat. But then I saw in smaller print «the chiropractic place». Right away I thought, oh a doctor made himself a cool little office in a convenient place just for the people that could afford it. The Gold River area IS very nice. Something made me stop and read the poster at the door. It was a combination of my attitude for the day and the fact that I have experienced back pain. In fact the tension in my neck and shoulder was really aggravating that day. The poster talked about an initial, no obligation, consultation, exam and adjustment for $ 19, and any subsequent adjustments for a little as $ 12.25.
Ok, my read-​between-​the lines filters were on but my interest was still piqued. I had heard that an adjustment is something that can really help and I always thought I needed to see a chiropractor but the cost to see one has always kept me away. Ok, so although I felt a bit intimidated because since when do you walk into a doctors office and say «hey check me out I’ve have this uncomfortable feeling but I’m not always in pain and when I am it doesn’t totally stop me form doing stuff cause it’s not really like a hurting pain». The general consensus of doctors I’ve seen in the past is that if I am not in pain then it’s not «something» that needs a specialist or even an x-​ray, but I always knew something was wrong. The discomfort it sometimes caused was enough for me to want to be immobile. So that meant not bending to mop or vacuum or load the dishwasher. Kind of an excuse but not really because walking and even working at a computer exacerbated the problem, even when I trained my left hand to operate the mouse; sitting upright seemed to keep up the tension in the right side of my back.
I decided to walk in (as the sign said «walk-​ins are welcome») and just ask what was this place all about.
I was met by a friendly young man who seemed a little more intimidated than I was but spoke well and explained that the first visit is about 20 minutes and includes the doctor asking a bit about your medical history and determine if it is ok to treat you. Of course, makes sense. I thought for a minute that I probably will pay the $ 19 to be told that my problem was not quite right for the treatment or worse that I may be compelled into subsequent but futile exams. I decided to take the chance and was prepared to decline any astounding offers or commitments.
So I was given some forms to fill out that asked basic medical questions and the friendly young man was apologetic about the wait even though I was totally fine with waiting. There were two people ahead of me that were there for the first time and one of them was in the process of being seen. I expect to wait to see a doctor, isn’t the average wait like 30 minutes when you have an appointment? I was content to sit in the small but clean and attractive waiting area. The seating is more comfortable than at Starbucks.
I was called to the «behind the scenes» area not too long after, in fact sooner than I had expected. I expected to be seen in a doctors office with an exam table with those paper rolls. Instead I sat down on one of four chiropractic beds that were lined up, salon style, in a relatively large area. The doctor that met with me was super friendly and went over my registration form while talking with me. He had me do a series of stretches and bends and asked how I felt doing them. I was able to perform with no problem and soon though, «he is going to tell me I don’t have any real issues». The exam concluded with him adjusting my back. First as I lay face down, then some adjustments to my lower back laying on each of my sides. Quick and actually not as awkward as I almost felt I would feel in an open room, although no one else was there.
I went to the front to make my payment and the receptionist went about processing as typical. She handed me a brochure about the pricing, which was posted on the wall (I always appreciate) and how the membership plans worked. Pretty easy to understand. I chose to sign up for the monthly membership because one, to take full advantage the cost does actually end up being $ 12.25 a visit and two, canceling is no problem at all, no giving them 30 days notice or tremendous fine print.
