Hadn’t been in many months and now I remember why! Went with my grandma for a bite last night and it took forever to get our waiter to our table. We had to call over someone who I believe was the manager to get drinks started, margarita was horrible and tasted just like mix, cup of soup was more like a ¼ cup; cream was separating and clams super gritty, the new red shrimp came raw, the skewered shrimp were cold, mashed potatoes were gummy. Horrible! We couldn’t get out of there fast enough! Service was decent even though the quality of food was not.

My main complaint about Red Lobster is that they keep the menu so similar from year to year and that they don’t have rolls. But that is their formula. The shrimp tacos were good enough. My server, Valerie N. was fantastic and I would go back for her.

Just don’t! Called in an order of Shrimp Nachos for dinner. What did I get? I’m not sure. I got 3 containers of food. One box of chips one bowl of a yellow substance & a box of 1 oz containers. No shrimp no jalapeños & no «nachos». Talked to Toni who I’m pretty sure took my order who sat there & defended this«meal». I could have made this at home for less than $ 1.50 not the $ 11 they charged me. She tried telling me that this was the service standard. To send people home to assemble there own food with two key ingredients missing. You couldn’t pay me to eat here again. Last thing I want to do after working a full day is assemble food from a restaurant. Totally defeats the reason for take out.

I just did a take-out for the 2nd time, in two years. I remembered how I was shorted on portions, that last time, so quickly peeped into the bag before I walked out with the order. But, once again, after getting home, I found that I paid an excessive amount for very skimpy portions that I did not notice while checking in the restaurant. It is as if they hope that you won’t notice that you are getting less because it is all enclosed in containers. I recommend that if you want to get your money’s worth, order as a sit-down, eat a couple of bites, then asked for take-out containers. Then, the portions will be decent and you can be assured that you will get more than one skimpy biscuit, as well. Also, have to say that the taste of the food was bland, unseasoned. Not at all enjoyable in flavors. I guess that I was expecting this expensive, one piece of fried catfish so-called«dinner» to be as tasty as what I had, last weekend in San Antonio.(The South knows how to season food properly.) Not sure if I will ever eat at the Golden Valley site, again. The Red Lobster at South Town in Bloomington, last Spring, tasted much better. But, will never do take-out, again, at any location, for fear that it is their policy to short the take-out orders.(Also, the Mojito that I had at the bar while waiting for my order was so weak that I could not taste any rum and was 75% ice and excessive mint leaves and lime slices. Probably, to disguise that the cocktail is also being skimped upon. Red Lobster has definately gone downhill.

I love seafood. And Red Lobster is a well known chain restaurant when you’re in the mood for some sea dwelling creatures. My husband and I each ordered a pound on snow crab legs, and most of it was completely inedible. The crab was dry and in some places non existent. However, they have us new legs(to no avail) and then comped the meal. Mary, our server was very patient and earned her tip! Thanks Mary!

Even for a seafood lover like myself the fishy smell of this restaurant is awful. Despite the new menu and promises to return to its roots, Red Lobster still fries and coat with nasty cheese sauces everything on the menu. This chain is a joke for seafood.

Restaurant is OK. Not many people on Saturday night. Decent menu as usual. Server is friendly and funny too. She is just entertaining customers. Food is OK. Not really special place or anything.

I ordered Walts favorite shrimp and it was suppose to come with 12 and I sadly only had 11. As I was finishing my last shrimp, the waiter came to our table with a tiny plate and a fresh cooked single shrimp. He said that they realized in the kitchen that I only got 11, felt bad, and cooked it up for me. Now that is good service! Friendly staff, quick food, quality food.

The food quality at red lobster has certainly gone down since the last time I was there. There were too many corners cut on food quality to make it worth paying the price. I had the shrimp and scallop linguine but the sauce was too sour and the shrimp and scallops were tough. Also the service was ok but the server didn’t even ask about my food and took the plate away even though I had only eaten about 3 bites. If she had I would have told her about my terrible meal. She also kept trying to push expensive drinks on us even though we kept saying no.

We went there to have some sort of lobster and … meal. My wife is very allergic to shrimp and all of the lobster combination meals had shrimp. She simply dropped the shrimp from the shrimp, lobster, scallop lunch. When she got the lunch the scallops were«OK». But the lobster was tough and beyond salty. One could speculate that the lobster was sitting on a warming table for too long so to revive it they drowned it in a spicy, salty sauce. Could not taste the lobster. Upon paying we mentioned the problem when paying our server, who had been on autopilot the whole time. She immediately went into caring solicitous mode and got the manager involved. He gave us a $ 20 gift certificate but I don’t know that it matters. To use it we would have to go back. Ambiance is good. Salad was excellent. My walleye was OK.

I was pleasantly surprised for a chain restaurant. Ate lunch here with a friend the other day. Didn’t seem like they had a hostess on duty when we first arrived, but a bus had dropped off a large group of seniors for lunch there, so she was back in a little bit. She was very nice and apologetic for the wait and seated us promptly. Our waiter was a guy, I don’t recall the name, but he got our drink and food orders right away, and the cheddar bay biscuits. The menu was kind of long, but they had quite a few good deals for seafood, and many new items on it as well. We each got salads which were super fresh ingredients. We each had a different linguine Alfredo dish, she had crab and I had shrimp. It was delicious. And artery hardening buttery. :) There was plenty of shrimp on mine and it was a pretty fair price. He kept us refilled on drinks, wasn’t pushy about dessert, and got the check promptly. On the way out the hostess again thanked us for our visit and was super nice(she was an elderly lady so how can she not be nice)

The food selection is not very good right now, they need to revamp their menu and add a few broth-based or tomato sauce pasta dishes… the only option is Alfredo and its very heavy. As for my experience, I’m sitting at the bar for dinner on a Monday. Not too busy but enough work for the bartender to keep busy with out pausing. The bar folders are outdated and the bartender tells me the prices are incorrect. I call that bad management. Regardless, I order my food and the soup comes within 2 minutes of placing my order. Then the food doesn’t stop coming… I barely set down my fork before the next course arrives. This is too fast a pace even for a rushed lunch diner and makes me feel like I need to hurry up and get out. I have to get my entrée wrapped upon arrival bc it would have gotten cold by the time I was ready to eat it. I ask her to slow down and wait for my dessert. She waited all of 5 minutes and set it in front of me. The building is not on fire and her manager isn’t creeping so I can’t figure out why she wants to turn over my seat so fast. I might go back in a year, after the place has had a chance to turn over some staff and make some menu changes.

When I visited this location, it was my first visit to ANY Red Lobster. As a matter of fact, I had recently been cleared of a lifelong seafood/shellfish allergy — so I was especially excited! Overall the entire experience was everything I had ever dreamed seafood would be! But the reason I’ll definately go back to Red Lobster(considering I’ve dined at many seafood establishments since) is for their Lobster Artichoke Dip — it’s heaven! It’s creamy, cheesy, a lil salty — everything and artichoke dip should be! And then there’s HUGE chunks of lobster in it… unreal.

Staff is good food is mediocre at best. I guess what you expect from a chain restaurant. Very pricey and small portions.

Once you get over the fact that you are, in fact, at a Red Lobster it has a very pleasant staff, decently tasty food and a clean, inviting atmosphere. Myself and the fam end up here once a year for all-you-can-eat shrimp. It’s an event — check it out next time it comes around.
