Right next to Panino’s and up the block from the Golden Diner is a smallish little frozen yogurt shop… one of many in Golden. The fact that it’s small limits this place somewhat, but the whole store front opens like a garage door so it opens it up a lot and makes the atmosphere more inviting on nice days. Also, because of the size, they can’t really offer as many flavor options as a lot of larger frogurt(so much better than froyo) places. I think they may have had about a dozen flavor choices, three of which were no sugar added options on this particular day. I LOVE no sugar added options — especially when they don’t really taste like it. The two flavors I had, chocolate and some kind of berry, were really delicious. I didn’t get any toppings that day, but the selection available was pretty impressive. The guy working the register was also very nice and attentive and the place was pretty clean. I can’t tell you how many frogurt places I’ve walked into that looked like a 5 year old birthday party just trashed it. Seriously, people need to clean up after their kids better. Anyway, I liked Aspen Leaf Yogurt. I wouldn’t drive out of my way to go there since there seems to be one on every block now days, but I will mostly likely be back when I visit Golden.

Good flavor options and lots of toppings to pick from. Great $ 3 treat if in the area.

Their yogurt is pretty mediocre, but their topping selection is great. Personally, I want great yogurt and something chocolate sprinkled on it, so topping diversity doesn’t matter much to me. And like I said, their yogurt is boring, overly soft, and flavorless. As Ashley B said, all the flavors basically just taste like sweet goo. The new rocky road flavor is nice and fudgy, but the flavor is still so mild that the toppings easily overpower it.

Meh. very pricey and the yogurt is just okay with limited selectio. The topping selection is amazing but not enough to make up for the yogurt. You can get way better froyo from Yogurtland down on 6th and Grant… It is worth the trip.

2012 Review #41: It would be one star, if it weren’t for the awesome toppings. Aspen Leaf is owned by Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, so they have some awesome topping options. Basically all the nice treats by the chocolate factory are available to put on your yogurt, with the exception of caramel apples, which actually I think would be tasty. I’ve come in here twice, and neither time have I actually ended up purchasing yogurt, because I come in and sample it and am so disappointed. My husband got some yogurt here and didn’t really complain but didn’t really seem to be that into it. The flavors are what you’d expect and there aren’t that many of them. There aren’t very many tart options, and if you blindfolded yourself, you’d probably think half the flavors were the same. «Red velvet cake,» «cheesecake,» and«strawberry,» literally all tasted the same. And not like anything, just like sweet. The consistency was sort of soupy and it just wasn’t worth it. To top it off the staff on my first visit and second visit were very different. My first visit, the owner was there, and so he was very helpful and wanted us to be pleased. My second visit the 3 teenagers working literally didn’t interact with us at all. I drove by recently during their normal business hours and they were all closed up– maybe they’re reducing hours or something for the winter but for yogurt options in Golden, stick to Goozell. Aspen Leaf is just not worth it.

This place gets an A++++ in my book. The place is adorable, selection is good, and quality of yogurt is fantastic. The prices are more reasonable than the other frozen yogurt shop in town, probably because it’s not as runny and doesn’t have so much weight to it. It’s off the main street, on a side street, near Buffalo Rose so you have to scout it out a little more, but it’s well worth it!

As I found this store on Unilocal,I decided to treat my boyfriend by surprise. We walked downtown and around corners. When we came to the correct address… no parlor! The actual store is two doors down. The guy who I think owns it and perhaps even works the counter was very friendly. He came right over and explained the yogurts, flavors, and toppings! My oh my were there toppings! With two little cups for free sampling the BF and I were in heaven. I would go there again so give It a shot!

Stopped by Aspen Leaf on my way to lunch at Anthony’s — yes, dessert before the main course. I feel properly guilt ridden, don’t worry. Still, who am I to let a bit of guilt get in the way of trying out a new restaurant? The space is smallish, but brightly colored. Almost shiny and still definitely new. The young woman behind the counter was enthusiastic and encouraged me to try out multiple flavors, so of course I obliged her. They have 8 flavors right now, 6 regular fro-yo and 2 sherbet style. Standards, mostly — vanilla, chocolate, cheesecake, cookies and cream, and so on. I ended up getting a mix of strawberry cheesecake and peanut butter — not really a good combo, but the peanut butter was new and the woman encouraged me to get some. They have a gigantic toppings bar — many different things, and apparently they’re partnered with the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Co, so they have a bunch of their specific candies and chocolates as toppings available. Sadly, they didn’t have mochi as a topping(or at least I didn’t see it), which is one of my favorites. Unfortunately, they’re currently priced at $ 0.44/oz, which is what Goozell started at before dropping it 5c. The yogurt is definitely different than Goozell’s, the other store on Washington in Golden. I think it has a much stronger flavor at first taste, and starts off smoother, but the sourness of the yogurt comes through at the backend of a spoonfull, and the smoothness fades quickly. Still, it’s definitely worth coming back to and trying again, and I look forward to experimenting more with both fro-yo places before I find a favorite!

This place just recently opened so they’re still working out a few kinks. The staff was very nice and helpful, guiding everyone through the process. Flavor selection was exactly to be expected– the strawberry lemonade sorbet was my favorite! Toppings– wow. They have over 70 toppings, including chocolate and pretzels from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. The only things I was looking for and didn’t see were peanut butter cups and cookie dough. Definitely needs to have cookie dough. Overall, the place was clean with friendly staff and good product.
