Terrible customer service. They lied about the speeds that they could provide and then stuck us with the bill when it didn’t work out. Would never use them again and would not recommend them.

I hate that this is my first review and it has to be so negative… Please, if you are searching for Internet service, please please please forget Century Link ever existed. Bottom line, their process from start to finish is total bait and switch.
It has taken six weeks, exactly how much time you are given to be able to cancel with no penalty, for our first bill to arrive. We were told, retold, then a third time confirmed on the phone by different operators that they could see a waver of the $ 100 modem fee on their screen. Along with other unexpected fees, and «mistakes» our promised $ 35 first months bill became $ 255 and some change… Customer service acts like they now have no idea about what we’re talking about when discussing the three time confirmed waver…
We will attempt a cancel tomorrow, but I’m already sure they will claim «time’s up» on our six week no penalty cancellation… Please… Stay far far away from Century Link

This company is despicable. They are not at this location. I’ll cancel my service if it kills me. How can they still be around when they treat clients so atrociously? Do not try this location. It’s a lie, they don’t have an office or store here, at least not one for any of the corporations names. How ubsurd CenturyLink.

If you live in Golden, absolutely do not go with CenturyLink.
They advertise 40mbps, and only offer 12mbps in our area. Since I don’t game I didn’t think it was a big deal, but what they don’t discuss is upload speed. You can only get .5mbps out of the, which is totally insufficient for FaceTime or Skype which is a 1 mpbs minimum.
I was only 6 weeks into my service, and they charged me $ 200 to break my contract, and were totally unwilling to negotiate. My ignorance on upload speed was a very costly mistake, so please learn from mine.

Comcast– 50 mbps download speed/​30mbps upload speed (literally 60X faster)

So far, Century Link has been a complete nightmare. I spend so much time on the phone with their customer service who do not seem to have a clue as to what I am talking about. Today, they said my internet account had been cancelled. They were talking about my account number though. STUPID! SO done with people who outsource their customer service. It really, really sucks.
Since first writing this … I have cancelled my bundle service and landline with century link. Unfortunately I think all of the phone companies are going down the same road so good luck to us all!!!
