Warm, soft, and gooey… nothing wrong with that! The only thing that could possibly make a cinnabon better is turning it into a pecan bun, which I do each and every time because if I’m going to be a fatty, I might as well go all out. Although I will admit that it’s too much for me to eat, so I go halvsies with my hubby…

I am SOGLAD they re-opened! After seeing the Southwest Plaza one closed down and then this one’s lights going dark I was heart-broken. I love Cinnabon and cannot stand the thought of having to resort to Burger King for some rolls. So I was super excited when my friend informed me there’s a new owner at this location and it’s opened up again. I came up with a good«shopping» reason to drag my family out to this mall just so we could pass by the food court and get me some goodies, hee hee. The rolls are as good as ever! More dough-y than cake-y and very glossy, just the way I like. They’re also handing out free samples which could stop me from doing anything and come straight for some! :-D I’ve only tasted Chillatta at the Cherry Creek mall location when they were serving free samples. But I can’t justify having a sweet drink take over the deliciousness of a Cinnabon roll. So in order to «complement» the treat, I ordered a hot coffee. Woah, they really filled up the cup all the way to the brim, I think I paid $ 1.5 for a cup the size equivalent to a Starbucks grande. So I didn’t need a refill but I wouldn’t doubt the friendly staff would grant a free refill if asked. However, they have no idea what kind of coffee they use(and there’s no option for decaf) so I went to Cinnabon’s Facebook page to get more information. After privately messaging them AND wrote the question on their timeline, somebody finally got back to me(after about a week): «The components of this blend from Ethiopia, Guatemala, and Sumatra Mandheling yields a full bodied, rich tasting coffee with a perfect balance of muted dark chocolate flavor notes, pleasant mild acidity, and a lingering, clean and sweet finish. This blend consists of the finest 100% Arabica Specialty grade coffees from around the globe.» That’s great, but what I want to know is if it’s their own brand of coffee, like how Krispy Kreme has the KK bags of coffee they sell, or Dunkin’ Donut has the DD bags of coffee, etc. Or if they source/use somebody’s coffee(e.g. Chick-Fil-A uses the Royal Cup’s 100% Colombian blend). I wrote back saying«Thanks, so does it have a name? Is it just Cinnabon coffee(proprietary) like „Krispy Kreme“ coffee? Or does the blend have a name?» And I got«It doesn’t have a specific name, sorry.» OK, so either they thought I was a competitor(lol) and didn’t want to give out more info, or they’re not that bright and didn’t understand what I was looking for. If anybody from Cinnabon is reading this, I’d advice putting that kind of info on the website because people care about what they spend their money on. There’s no reason to be so secretive about coffee, right?

I have not had a Cinnabon for quite a while and I could not resist when I saw one today. I had just a mini, but it was warm and tasty and satisfied the urge. I used to get them regularly when traveling by air, especially at ORD when changing planes. But I have not taken that route in nearly a decade and I cannot even remember where I last had one. A great treat for old times sake and still that flavor that non of the imitators I have tried can get right.
