This is such a wonderful store. It has just about everything and customer service is fantastic! The homemade fudge is out of this world!

This place says«homemade» ice cream, plus lots of other goodies. Sadly, their ice cream isn’t homemade — as a matter of fact it is commercially made and poorly stored, so it’s tacky and icy. We expected charm and warmth and hominess, but it felt like an old, rundown deli by the side of the road. Save the stop, and keep driving to Evergreen.

The bit of cute that this place has going on does not compensate for the price gouging. Pretty much the most expensive gas that I can remember seeing in the last year driving back and forth across our country. When I asked about it she said well we’re in the mountains. I told her that I saw much cheaper gas(40 – 50 cents less!) just yesterday in multiple nearby tourist towns in the mountains. They are gouging tourists and I don’t appreciate it. But don’t miss the Buffalo at this exit. They are worth the stop.

Our visit here was an unplanned but positive stop under stressful circumstances. Unexpectedly caught in bad weather, we stopped to get information and make some decisions about our route to Las Vegas. The ladies running the store were so helpful, inviting us to sit at a couple of small tables, take our time, and discuss our options. The store, for being small, had a big variety of food, drinks and snacks as well as clean restrooms and some souvenirs. There was a monitor next to the cash register that was giving the staff up to date weather and traffic info that they shared with us and other travelers who came in and were in the same situation as we were. Some of the little things that made this stop memorable: a DIY pb&j sandwich table, with varieties of bread, peanut butter and jelly, the giant cookies and chocolate covered goodies(chocolate covered jalapeño, anyone?) at the front counter, and Genesee Candy Land, run by a lady from my hometown. We chatted as I eyed the fudge covered oreos, the truffles, and the«adult» chocolates, all housemade. Again, a great selection for a petite candy shop. You’ll surely find something you can’t resist!

What a great find! They make their own fudge and truffles… amazing! Reasonably priced as well. This is such a nice place to stop for gas, convenience items and high quality treats. Fresh bagels, tamales… ice cream bar… super nice staff too!

We make it a point to get ice cream after a hike at the nearest, locally owned, non-franchise place, and this was it. It did not disappoint. We got some cones and dog treats, I wish we had more time(upset 2 year old) to look around the store longer at some of the goodies they had all over the store. Next time we are hiking in the area we will have to set aside more time and stop by for another cone and look around. I am not a huge fan of fudge, but for those of you who are they have a huge selection of fudge of all kinds. They had several dog treats as well, I got one of the large ones for each of our boys.

Beautiful setting. Enjoyed the«where are you from» map. Restroom facilities were a-ok. Store was stocked with reasonable amount of stuff… the hand sani was a bit pricey though. Cold & flu season though, so I bit the bullet for the $ 2.99 for like 2 oz.
