Rita J’s Aveda Salon

Just stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon (5:30pm) and the place is closed with no notes or anything at the door.

I just got the best new look for spring.
I had a very specific color in mind and Lauren was up for the challenge. She listened to what I wanted and made some professional suggestions. It was a long process and she was super patient and never lost her enthusiasm.
The best part though, was the product. I have very sensitive skin. We did a lot of processing, which normally would make my head, neck, and face break out. But with Aveda, that never happened. I didn’t even get one red spot, or one bump. And my hair is still soft and healthy.
In the end, I got exactly what I wanted. It looked even better than I had imagined. As an added bonus, Lauren applied some Aveda makeup and gave me some makeup tips.

I recently moved to the area and booked a Facial and Massage with Katie at Rita J’s. Katie was friendly and professional and gave me the best facial and massage that I have ever had! She really knows her stuff! I love the Aveda products and will definitely rebook with Katie. I recommend her services to everyone! Great job, Katie.

My daughter got married in June and she had 13 women and children have their hair done at $ 90.00 a piece. Children (3) a bit cheaper. The master stylist, Stacy, had a difficult time doing an up-​do for me, mother of the bride, along with another brides maid which resulted in the rest of the bridal party behind schedule which ended up cutting into wedding time.
Being the mother of the bride it was important that I had a nice hair do. It never happened. Stacy did one up-​do on me and then took it down because it didn’t look right, and then spent an hour and a half trying to do something that didn’t show bobby pins. I was willing to anything! Even the mother of the groom went home and wash and re-​did her hair as well. I wished I could have!
Stacy being a master stylist, I was VERY disappointed in her ability. She even went as far to say, she wished she wouldn’t have given the little flower girl her barrette so she could cover the bobby pins that she couldn’t cover up in my hair which I would not have accepted in my hair. I’m 56 years old!
I went to an Aveda salon for 8 years and never once did I run into just an issue. Stacy made it very clear that her regular customer is due in before I was done and doesn’t like to wait. Stacy just threw my hair together like crap and said she wasn’t going to charge me. With great regret!!! I’m sorry I went there and do not recommend anyone to this salon. Especially wedding parties! The master stylist should be ashamed of herself for her actions.

I have been to see Stacy, master stylist now for almost two years which for me is a miracle as I hardly ever find a salon I like so much as to go back over and over. Stacy keeps the color and the style of my hair fresh and satisfying, while at the same time, honoring my inability to sometimes change my look! I always leave there feeling like a new woman, which is what I am paying for! Stacy is not a magician, yet she comes pretty darn close in my opinion! I highly recommend this salon too for their calming aesthetics. The owner or her daughter do a lot to make the place seem cozy, warm, and inviting. There are nail and massage services here as well. I love the location, the folks who work here, and most importantly, my looks when I leave!!!

Rita J’s is a hidden gem! I love the Aveda products and the friendly family-​owned feel to the business. Great hair salon that also offers relaxing facials and waxing services and so convenient right off of 6^th ave at 6^th avenue west! :-)

I’ve been going to Rita J’s for years because they always make my hair look great. Stacey is my new favorite stylist — not only is she talented with the color and cut, but she’s a really fun person to talk to. The entire staff at the salon are pleasant, professional and very talented stylist. It makes the drive to Golden worth it every time!

I just moved to Colorado a few months ago and was looking for an affordable Aveda Salon. I found it at Rita J“s. It is a smaller establishment but the employees are very attentive and want very much to please their customers. I have never experiences such wonderful customer service.
I was in the salon when the individual who wrote the long post came in to complain. I was very nervous and thought about calling the police. She seemed very unstable. Under such duress the employees stayed calm and even then focused on trying to satisfy the irate customer. They were above reproach and impressively professional.
I have used Aveda products for over 20 years. I was very impressed with the color and cut of my hair. Yes, this establishment may have a Steal Magnolia feel to it but customer service matters. I would highly recommend them for their exceptional ability to cut hair but they won my respect for their amazing ability to handle people.

Who could serve a 50 y.o. mom and her 15 y.o. daughter at the same time and keep both of us smiling and wanting to come back for more? Only Janet and Heather at Rita J’s. I love these ladies, and now my daughter is a fan as well. A glass of wine for me –always welcome at the close of a long day. Oh yeah — they’re great with cuts and color! Add to that some fun personalities and you know I always come out of that place smiling and looking good! And I get compliments on my hair … which we all love … come on … admit it! pay a visit to Rita’s. You’ll be happy you did!
