Have not been here in a long time, but came and checked it out after getting a gift card for Christmas. We were seated immediately, and the place was not very crowded(it was 6 pm on a Monday night). We opted for the special that includes dinner for two for $ 35 and includes 2 margaritas, an appetizer, 2 entrees, and dessert. The margaritas were amazing and came with a small tumbler with extra to refill your glass as needed! For appetizer we got the Texas cheese fries and they were off the chain. So cheesy and warm and delicious. For entrée, we both had the sirloin. It was very tender and had a nice butter and garlic taste to it, and was very juicy. The asparagus was also very tasty as were the loaded mashed potatoes. For dessert, we got the cookie skillet which was the perfect ending to an excellent meal. It came out piping hot and the combination of the warm cookie and cool ice cream was fantastic. The customer service was also very on point, with our drinks staying refilled the entire time(although I wasn’t drinking much of my water since I had margarita to sip on). I would most definitely come back and eat here again! Highly recommend.

My first experience with Chili’s so went in with only TV ads for my expectations. This is a nasty little place, more of a sports bar with hard tables & chairs than the semi-posh & leathered cushions I expected. Staff was friendly… not too attentive once you were served, however. Five or six football games & a baseball game on all the TV’s, & a loud crowd surrounding the bar, with frequent extra-loud shouting cheers for touchdowns & good plays. Mildly uncomfortable, especially when uninterested. The fare. After studying the menu, I decided to try their namesake — a bowl of their award winning chili, along with a side house salad. The salad was okay, fresh & chilled — the chili… the chili shouldn’t be allowed to be called chili. This might sound like an exaggeration but it’s the absolute truth — in that whole bowl of approx. 6 – 8 oz, there was only one small discernible bit of meat. Maybe there was meat in the soup, far far over-ground. It was literally, save the small portion of «3 cheeses» capping the top, more of a purée than anything remotely resembling a true chili, and the only thing I could get teeth into was the perhaps half-dozen or so pieces of beans in the mix. The crowning glory — even the packaged saltines that came with, were stale & damp-textured — more like cardboard than crackers. The salad came as an appetizer — which about halfway thru, my «chili» arrived. At that time my beverage(Coke) glass was slightly less than half full — never an offer to refill until I was taking the last couple swallows preparing to pay my bill. My waiter was much more interested in the football games, behind the bar. Maybe that’s where he makes his best money. My review — despite its several shortcomings, I’m sure there’s some who relish this kind of place. But as far as Chili’s chili — if that chili ever won any awards, one of the key ingredients must’ve been bribe money. I won’t be back.

I tried to give Chili’s a second chance after having terrible food at their restaurant here in Goldsboro & it was just as bad as my previous experience. The steamed broccoli looked like they microwaved it, the steak wasn’t juicy, but looked gray and gritty. I ordered tacos last time and it was salted mush… Literally. Everything was extremely salty like always and their new skillet mashed potatoes was horrible. Not to mention they did away with serving gravy so you either have to get your mashed potatoes loaded or eat it plain with no liquid factor. It absolutely sucks, the food is nasty and I told all my friends that if anyone ever suggests we go to Chili’s ever again I’m going to be going elsewhere. My money is better off spent on a bag of dirt that the food here.

My husband and I decided that we wanted to have a low key dinner before he had to leave for training the next morning. We haven’t had any bad experiences here before and I can’t say our experience last night was bad, it just wants great. As we got seated after waiting about 10 – 15 minutes since it seemed to be a fairly busy Saturday night, we knew we were going to have to be patient for our server to get to us. We didn’t actually see our server or get to order our drinks until 10 minutes after being seated. We ordered the jumbo pretzel appetizer which was great expect for the burnt cheese we got serves. Our actual meal was fantastic and our waiter was very nice as well as made sure our drinks were filled.

This is one of their small-market restaurants, much worse than big city locations. The building is half the size of a «real» Chilis and that doesn’t help matters. The food is fine, but I expect more than that. Tried it again last week when family came for a visit. No change. Here’s what you get at a big city Chilis(that you won’t find here): * An enthusiastic greeter. * Servers that won’t try to rush you out the door as quickly as possible. * Some room between tables and other diners. * An intimate and inviting bar area.

I usually don’t bother to write reviews for chain restaurants, but I consider this to be a public service announcement: CHILI’S BABYBACKRIBSDON’T TASTEGOOD There, I said it. One morning my wife and I were inanely singing that old«Chili’s baby back ribs» song at one another for no good reason, and it occurred to me that I have never had their baby back ribs. So, in Goldsboro for a business trip, I noticed that I was across the street from a Chili’s, and then the stupid song started playing on repeat in brain. (I want my baby back baby back baby back, Chili’s baby back ribs, Chili’s baby back ribs, with barbecue sauce) I was at a juncture, either endure the psychic trauma of this song playing on repeat in my head, or just go eat at the damn placed and put an end to it. I opted to finally try the baby back ribs, once and for all. The service at Chili’s was fine in my opinion. The bartender was polite and smiled and kept my water refilled, and really that’s all I needed from her. The baby back ribs were expensive. ½ a rack was like $ 12. That’s too much money for the paltry amount of food you get, especially when you take into account that they don’t taste good. There was one interesting thing about this place. There’s a tablet on every table. You can do a variety of things with this tablet: –Order more booze –Pay it a dollar to play angry birds and plants vs. zombies while you eat dinner –Read USA today for free –Ignore your family I’m not sure how I feel about the tablet on the table, but seeing how I was by myself there for business reasons(and thus couldn’t drink), it was nice to have something to read while I waited for my food. Verdict: I’m not going back, even if I do get that stupid song stuck in my head.

The staff here are awful. I visited this location one time in June of 2014 and will never be back. Our waitress gave us an incorrect appetizer and after waiting for an hour admitted that she forgot to put in our order. As if all of this wasn’t bad enough, she also insulted an elderly customer. We were«lucky» enough to sit in a booth where the trainer was working with new employees. I overheard the trainer talk about how awful it was to work there and how Goldsboro was a miserable area. I wouldn’t eat at this pathetic location again if the food was free.
