Harris Teeter

I get Harris Teeter is newer to Goldsboro and definitely an upper end grocery store so to speak. But being familiar with HT and having been around them for years in the Triad part of the state, the almost perfect reviews need to be humbled.
Echoing other reviewers, there isn’t and hasn’t been much in Goldsboro by way of grocery options. Food Lion, Walmart, and the random Piggly Wiggly or Winn Dixie are about it. Although I believe the latter two may have moved on already. I get the awe with having HT as an option.
HT has always done well with produce, deli, and stocking stuff that would be hard to find at other grocery stores. This location is no different and does well here. HT continues to be consistent.
HT also tends to be consistent in price. And when I say price, they usually tend to be higher on a ton of stuff. Even the stores in the Triad tend to be this way. For whatever reason, HT, including this one, charges more for basic things. These things include milk, processed foods, bread, etc. I remember when I would shop at HT exclusively and would have a $ 30+ higher weekly bill when compared to other chains.
I have been here twice and service was ok. Nothing to jump up and down about. It was efficient and done ok. No real issues.
From my experience, I would shop here for the things mentioned previously and avoid the stuff also mentioned. You will pay for this selection and I would shop wisely.
Goldsboro, you have moved up a tad. I can see how you have wide eyes. You have a great option. But know the honeymoon ends and reality sets in. Prices here are more expensive on most things. If you want to pay more for these things, come here. Otherwise, be very selective and picky if you are a penny pincher.

I must say I was really looking forward to Harris Teeter coming to Goldsboro, however ever since the launch I’ve been nothing but let down as a whole.
Sure it’s better than Wal-​Mart and Food Lion or Carlie C’s (that place is creepy). But it’s definitely not PUBLIX (My FL people will know what I’m talking about).
The prices are usually way too high even with their «sales» or using their coupons but the produce is the best in town, although they don’t have much competition.
I think the most annoying part of the store is the fact that you still have to wait a long time to checkout. If I wanted to wait 30 minutes to check out I’ll go to Wal-​Mart.
The customer service is decent and the store is generally clean, but if Publix ever came to town it would definitely get my business.

Have to give this 5 stars. Super clean, super efficient, an super friendly staff. Produce dept is always fantastic. I live the hot/​salad bar too. They almost always have tofu. And sometimes vegetarian chili.
That pizza is a killer! Wish they had vegan/​gluten free options. I misses Publix down in Florida, but this has them beat.
The only time i had a negative experience was when i called to ask if they had vegan/​nondairy cream cheese. The girl on the phone laughed and said no. I happened to see that they did have some on a later trip. It’s over by the produce frig section FYI.

Since Iam new to Goldsboro, NC I did some price comparing all day Monday to find which store has the best deals. I compared HT, Commissary, Piggly Wiggly, Sav a lot, Food Lion, Dollar General, & Carlie C’s. I didnt bother w Walmart or Target because I’m familiar w those stores. Walmart does have good deals but I’m not a fan of their produce and meat dept.
Low and behold Harris Teeter has the best deals! I was surprised since it does seem a little pricier there, but if you stick to the specials they offer and buy their brand items it’s great.
I love this store! It is by far the classiest grocery store in this town. A lot of variety, it’s clean, produce and meats are good, super helpful staff, plus free samples!

I was really happy to have3 a Harris Teeter in Goldsboro. I have shopped there every week since it opened and everyone was so nice until the last couple of weeks. The bakery staff is rude and lazy. I asked if they had any cookies ready and the lady said it would be an hour. I then heard another lady who was doing the cooking tell her she could put some in a container but it might sweat and she said «don’t worry about it she already left». I was still standing there and asked her what the lady said. I said I would take the cookies and they did not sweat at all. The lady packing them was really nice and the other did not want to be bothered. This week I tried to get one of the large decorated cookies for Holloween and they only had plain ones or birthday ones. I asked if they had and others and was told no without even looking. They could have decorated the plain ones but did not want top be bothered. It is really hard to get someone tin that area to help. Did not take long for them to be just like WalMart-​lazy and unwilling to help!

Finally, Goldsboro, North Carolina has a real grocery store. It is nice to finally have something to choose from other than just Walmart and Food Lion. And this place has everything! Best selection of produce around by far. Great salad bar, as well as pizza, and an olive bar. Skip the Food Kitty… Harris Teeter is the place!
