Le nails is a small nail salon in goldsboro but the closest to our new home, as we just moved here due to my husband military career. We have settled in and now it was time for my daughter and I to have a nice relaxing day and get our nails done. Relaxing??? No, that is not what you will receive here. The spa chairs«don’t work,» either of the two in the salon. Also, the mom /owner is not too friendly. She insist on staying still(even stated she would not do my daughters nail if she can not stay still.) she probably said that 10 times. During my «spa» pedicure, in the chairs that don’t work(cost about 30 dollars.) She rushed super fast to point she ask if she is hurting you multiple times. But, the main thing that really irritated me, is the whole time I was having my pedicure she repeated«I’ve been here since 2000, I normally do my regulars, I rarely have walk in like you.» I just moved to the area, I could have became a regular if she did not make me feel so unwelcome as if it is taboo to have a new customer. My daughter and I get our nails done often. This is a great place to go if you are in a rush, and want in and out or a quick polish. Just be prepared to be rushed and not very friendly staff. It is like the comedian the other lady mentioned. They talk in another language and prices are pretty high for mediocre salon and poor customer service.

Initially when I saw the name of the establishment I had a quick flashback of Anjelah Johnson’s nail salon skit, «Beautiful Nail, just one».. .. I joked with my friend that I was only going to get one nail done and thought I was hilarious :-) Anywho.… Normally if I were to get a mani-pedi during my travels, I like to be pampered. I splurge to lounge in the nice spas for a full day of facials, massages and mani-pedis. Unfortunately my travels this weekend led me to Goldsboro, NC to visit a friend(meaning that this is not a travel destination I would recommend otherwise) and those options were all booked up at the one and only nice salon Goldsboro offers by little miss pageants(another issue altogether). What’s left for me was Le Nail which did not take reservations, everything is on a walk-in basis. My GPS took me to an avenue of car dealerships so if you’re looking for this place look for the corner of 111 and Mollie dr, your landmarks are Food Lion and Bojangles. The store front actually says«Le Nails», my friend snarkily told me that it seems like I can actually get all my nails done now. Whew, what a relief :-P Le Nail(s) seems to be entirely family run complete with mom, pop and daughter and each will partake in taking care of you but the main operation was done by mom. Daughter took off existing nail polish, dad worked with me to get the gel from my previous manicure off but it was mom who did our manicures and pedicures simultaneously with two other clients! This was a truly site to be seen ladies and gentlemen. She would have me soak my feet while she pedicures my friend. While she waits for my friend’s base coat to dry, she would reapply a coat to client 1 and then come back to me to trim my nails. This went on at such a pace that she finished four clients in 1 hour. She is FAST and efficient which means she can also be a little rough as well. She actually caught me by surprise initially on how rough it can be! There is a huge emphasis on not moving so you don’t ruin your nails here. There are signs everywhere and mama has eyes in the back of her head to detect if I was about to move to grab a magazine. So really the experience was way less than relaxing or luxurious with average end product for $ 40(the other fancy place advertised that manicures were $ 45). So why the high rating? I loved every moment of it. My friend and I couldn’t stop laughing and being amazed at her speed, efficiency and eyes on the back of her head. Our«adventure» retold gained many laughs later that day at dinner and at breakfast the next day. For $ 40 in Goldsboro, NC, we got what we paid for and direly needed good laughs. Definitely memorable and unlike any other experience.
