Great spot to bring your kiddos! If you can’t find a parking, you can park at church.

I love this library & the staff! They are so genuinely helpful I would give it 5 stars if it was even bigger!!!

Been attending this library since I was three back in 1973. I loved browsing the children’s section. This library is small and intimate. It still has a great feel and being part of the Black Gold system have some of the newest NY Times best sellers out front for check out. They make the most of the fund raisers by The Friends of The Goleta Library to purchase books they know will be in demand for a long time. In addition, there are shelves with a wide variety of books for sale cheap. Those funds go directly to the Friends. From the Children’s read aloud hour to helpful Liberians, they make this YOUR library. Check it out today

Still a great place. I just have this thought– Goleta is growing a ton these days, so, it might be time for a second or third library branch! Though, alas libraries don’t grow out of thin air, and no one likes to pass bonds these days(more taxes equals great satan) so maybe the patrons and some fancy schmancy donor(s) should begin working on that! Thank you Goleta. Parking can be sticky, as long as it’s not a Wednesday evening or Sun morning, you could probably park in the upper lot of the church next door(unless they’ve blocked off that lot).

First time visit. This place was packed on a Wednesday afternoon because of a preschool reading time event. I have never been in a noisy library, but this visit was so loud that the librarian on the phone had to tell the person she was talking with to please repeat because of the volume. The parking lot is tiny… and the overflow parking lot is behind the Scientology church, but I found that to be full too. Only 1 spot left for me. Getting a library card is painless. They need a photo ID and if your address isn’t current then you have to show them a utility bill or something of the like. They even accept you to pull it up on your mobile device and show them… which I did. Checking out books is painless also. Just swipe your library card at one of the electronic terminals, put the book under the scanner, and it automatically checks it out. You have 3 weeks for most checkouts or start paying fines. You can checkout books and DVD’s. But the best is the ability to get audiobooks for free! Without even going to the library! Do it online with your account! So go check out your local library and get learned.

I love libraries. They keep me in books. Goleta is like any other good library. Free parking, decent selection, access to everything within the regional library system and self-checkout! It is $ 1 per item placed on hold, but they don’t require payment until you reach $ 10. I miss the days of free hold items, but if the charge keeps libraries in our world, I support it!

This is a fairly small library, but its nice because it is sort of an untapped resource as a place to study for UC kids. I go here with my boyfriend and there are never any college kids studying here which is a nice change from Davidson library or starbucks or something. It is very small though, the computer access is limited, and there aren’t any coffee carts around like on campus. Oh, did I mention the hours stink!

It’s not very big, but I appreciate the friendliness of the staff. Note: it’s 50 cents per item request from other libraries.
