I received courteous and prompt service from staff to replace a nose pad which had broken off on my travel to a meeting in Goleta; a long way home. They treated me as if I was one of their own patient. Many thanks for your service.

Love this doctor. Great staff too. He’s got the type of patient demeanor that you wish all doctors would have. When he makes an appointment with you, he makes you feel important when you get there, and you generally don’t have to wait long. I totally trust this doctor and felt like I was in very good hands. In fact, he took the time to explain to me what an ophthalmologist I had seen didn’t feel like he had time to explain, so that now I understand what is going on with my eyes. I would recommend Dr. Burke without hesitation.

Thank heavens for this place! I was on vacation and my last pair of contacts ripped, potentially ruining my vacation(and making for a dangerous drive home). Luckily, this place had my prescription on hand, and infinitely sweet ladies at the front desk helping me, so I was in, out and back in the surf in no time.

It’s a long story, but the short version is that thanks to Dr. Burke’s gentle persistence and forward thinking optimism, I have been blessed to get my life back. He helped me regain vision that i never expected to have ever again in my life. Dr. Burke has the warm personality of a good guy, but he’s a professional, the type patients should want to see. He asks questions, listens patiently, and then he graciously offers sound medical guidance, even when the news is not so good or the financial reward of his counsel holds little upside for him. Dr. Burke’s clear priority is quality patient outcomes. The staff is professional, friendly and helpful. I made a bad surgical choice 10 years ago, one that deteriorated my vision dramatically, eroded my hope for a better future and took some valuable things away from me. After visiting numerous doctors in those 10 years and trying so many promising solutions unsuccesfully, it wasn’t until a small town doctor persisted, pushing me and himself into a new technology(the right technology) that I was able to get my vision, my confidence and my life back. Thanks Dr. Burke. Great job. What you and your staff do for people is a really great thing.

I had been to Dr. Burke once before about a year ago. 2 weeks ago I get a call to schedule my yearly eye exam, sounds good, let’s do it. I arrive for my appt. today and they«scheduled over it, but maybe they can squeeze me in…». Ok, so we agree on a date and time. I arrive 10 minutes early, and I don’t get my eyes checked. Not going back.

Dr. Burke is an amazing person. He always pays close attention to my needs and goes above and beyond to try to accommodate them. The staff is friendly and always makes me feel welcomed. But they’re a small office and have limited selection of frames. Bring your own pair and they’ll be happy to adjust your lenses to your prescription.

Due to high pressures in my eye, i developed blisters on my cornea that were causing severe pain. I went to Dr. Burke so he could insert a contact lens over my blisters to protect them from bursting every time i blinked. I was very apprehensive about this procedure because of all the pain it could potentially cause. By using an anesthetic drop and a very gentle approach he was successful in placing the lens over my blisters without causing any discomfort. He has been very conscientious in his follow up care. If i wasn’t for his kind and gentle approach i would be writing this with an artificial eye. Dr. Burke was instrumental in saving my eye. His office staff is exceptional in their patient care delivery. I feel very luck to have them in my corner.

The optometry office I went to before was like stepping into a fast food chain, the optometrist would rush me in and out of his office and then his staff would try to up-sell me to the fanciest, most expensive frames. «But I have no money,» I would meekly protest. After hearing my complaints, two of my coworkers suggested I switch over to Dr. Burke. He came so very highly recommended by my coworkers and I’ve recommended him to, well, basically everyone I know… and now, to people I don’t know. Dr. Burke identified that I was quite sensitive to light and recommended prescription sunglasses. Um. Prescription sunglasses changed my life forever. Then he recommended computer glasses for me. Total game changer. No more eye strain, no more hunchback-lean-forward position while doing endless computer work. And of course I think Dr. Burke is amazing(kind, patient, gentle), but his staff, Barb and Kim, are equally amazing. Kim works magic adjusting your glasses to fit comfortably on your face. And Barb went waaay out of her way to help me find the perfect sunglasses. And this is no easy feat; I have the HARDEST time finding sunglasses that fit my wide, expansive face that don’t hit my chipmunk cheeks when I smile. I tried on almost every pair in the store(seriously, I’m so obnoxious) and could not find a pair that I liked. Barb suggested she bring a few frames she thought would look good on me from a different location. I ended up LOVING one of the frames she brought over, which was also free after my insurance. Thank you, Dr. Burke and his wonderful staff, for always taking the time to answer all my questions and make recommendations based on my health and well-being, without ever being pushy.

I was working in Santa Barbara for a week and my final pair of contacts tore. And I also had an expired prescription. I called Hollister Optometric Center and spoke with Barb and she completely understood my dilemma. Working with my expired prescription and all, she was able to supply me with a few days of contacts till I could get home to see my regular optometrist. Free of charge! She saved my business trip and made my weekend. I wish my local optometrist was as wonderful as Dr. Burke and his staff!

Dr. Burke was excellent. He was really nice, didn’t rush through the exam and took an interest in me as a patient, which I really appreciate. Though I can’t afford to visit him anymore because of Insurance changes, I secretly wish he would set up shop in Costco so I could go back. Optometry doesn’t really require a fantastic bedside manner since the patients are usually just in for quick and easy eye exams, but he was caring and made me feel that if I had had a serious issue, I’d like him to take care of it.

I would give this place 5 stars but I didn’t come here for an eye exam haha I broke one of my nose pieces on my glasses and went everywhere for those little fix it yourself kit at albertsons, kmart etc. But couldn’t find it anywhere cause they only have those foam pads but not actual plastic nose pieces. So i just stopped in, figured it would be $ 5 tops to replace it. The two people working there were so nice they just took care of it for me free of charge. I know a lot of places do this for free but I didn’t think this place would be for some reason. Anyways, 4 stars for customer service. About 3 people walked in after me and the way they helped them were so nice to them and they were actual patients. I would love to be a patient now haha but anyways, I saw them helping another patient picking out new glasses and they gave their opinion if you asked and tell you which frame looks nicer on your face shape and stuff. But i haven’t had an exam here before so I can’t say how the doctor is but I’m sure he’s nice just like the people working in the front.

Dr. Burke is the person in charge and when I came in to see him, he was very nice and friendly and I was very comfortable with him. I also felt like he was thorough in examining my eyes. The people who worked there were also very nice as well. Only gripe: the office is rather small so the selection of frames was also limited. BUT, they do have an office on Milpas that had more frames.
