If I could give Westcoast Auto 6 stars, I would. I’ve been going to David’s shop for 5 years and am sad to be moving out of state and have to find a new shop now. I’m a young female with zero knowledge of cars, and have always felt wary getting car repairs because I had no idea if I was getting ripped off (it’s happened several times in the past). But as soon as I started working with David, I recognized that he is a very honest, reliable, and skilled mechanic. When I told him that I was moving away, he even gave me my final car servicing for free because I’m a regular customer. He’s a mechanic I trust and adore!

They guys were awesome. I would definitely recommend them over any other shop in the area. Great prices, great customer service, and great job performed on my car.

This was a great recommendation from a super cool driver from Bob Holzer. David is the Real Deal — a first rate mechanic that takes pride in his work. I brought my ’77 Chevy Van to WestCoast last week, was given a realistic, honest & thorough diagnosis/​estimate within four hours. I was kept up-​to-​date on the progress — exactly on schedule — and had it back two days earlier (and $ 400 less) than expected. I’ve lived in Santa Barbara for 40 years & have always had older vehicles — the parts are usually difficult to find, and most local mechanics have no problem giving customers «the run-​around» — not WestCoast. I’ve never had a better experience & five stars isn’t a high enough rating. Do yourself a favor & visit WestCoast Automotive. They seriously take pride in their work & treat their customers with respect.

David has been working on my daily drivers and race cars for years. No job is too small or too large for Westcoast. His mechanical intuition and honesty are uncommon in this day in age. I refer everyone I know to him. He easily gets 5 stars.

I was visiting from out of town when one of my warning lights popped up on my dashboard. Needed a shop to look at and I didn’t want to go to one of the local dealers nearby so I took it to westcoast. Even though there were a couple of cars ahead of me my car was in and out really quick. They have amazing customer service and needless to say if I lived here they would be my go to mechanic. Easy 5 stars

David has been my mechanic for more than 4 years working on several vehicles. He runs a busy shop but has never been to busy to help me. He works on high end vehicles, vintage trucks, and my average vehicle as well. He prices are more than fair
And his customer service is the best.

I took my VW to have David fix a coolant leak, and had the best experience! David is friendly, professional, and honest. He went above and beyond, and I did not feel like I was being taken advantage of. I will be bringing my VW here for my mechanic needs :)

Took my Mercedes 99 Mercedes ML320 in since it was leaking coolant.
David attended to my car right away and diagnosed the problem. I’ve had the same repair done on the car at another shop and his price was right on par with the previous work. He had the work done right on schedule too.
I very much enjoyed my experience here and will be returning if any other issues come up.

David was really helpful and knowledgeable! I brought my Honda in because it had been making a weird noise, and while I was at work he took it all apart and didn’t see anything wrong. Didn’t try to charge me for anything I didn’t need and didn’t even want to accept my offer to pay for his time. Will be returning if the weird noise comes back :)

My mom and I were from out of town and we were driving home from LA, when our car started having problems. We had no idea what was wrong and our «Check engine» light came on. We desperately looked for a mechanic and were really pleased to find the Westcoast guys. It was really close to closing time, but they didn’t push us out the door they kindly helped us and really analyzed the car to see what the problem was. (apparently 2 of our 6 cylinders weren’t working properly). And in about an hour they got our car fixed and running. My mom and I were so thankful and appreciative. The gentleman that helped us was professional and kind. We would recommend them to anyone that is in the area!

Our sons truck broke down while visiting a friend at UC Santa Barbara. We are not from the area and we weren’t with our son. What to do? The tow truck driver gave our son a few options and he chose Westcoast Automotive since it was the closest. Unfortunately his truck had several problems that needed to be fixed. We put our trust in David’s hands. He did not let us down. He kept us informed as the repairs progressed. They did a fabulous job! Our son travels back and forth from cal poly to home in Tulare County and it has been running great with all the repairs David and his staff made! Can’t thank them enough and you can’t go wrong getting your vehicle serviced here. They made a very stressful situation end up with a happy outcome! Highly recommend them!!!

I myself am usually a DIY kind of guy but in this instance I didn’t have the time or resources to complete the job. So I read some reviews online and made a choice. What an awesome shop they quoted me on the phone in less than 2 minutes and then got the job done for less! I would highly recommend to my friends and family. I handled everything through David who was very professional and very honest.

It’s difficult finding a good mechanic. I’m always cautious. Noticed a couple of good reviews, it was near by and open, so I decided to call. Unfortunately, I received their «out of office hours» voicemail but decided to stop by anyway. I’m glad I did. David was friendly, informative, honest and the price was very fair. I originally went in for just a oil change for a F250 7.3L, as that is my trial run service, before I commit to any other services. David, did a good job, knew about the engine and what it was going to take. You’d be surprised how many mechanics fail to realize how many quarts go into that oil change and the procedure and quoted me the best price in and near SB. He offered to put his lunch off and get it done, as I came in at 12:30 but I came back a couple hours instead.
When I returned to pick up the truck, he informed me of two other services that needed done, which I knew, did indeed need to be addressed ASAP, but had been putting it off. He quoted me the best price, not only for labor but also parts, against all of the other places I had called before. Then said he could get it done in 20 mins. 20 minutes later, he rang me up and talked shop with me for 5 more.
He gets my repeat service and a good review, both of which I don’t give easily.

Great, one of the few places open on Saturday. Very friendly and knowledgeable, very reasonable prices.

I was here in Goleta for a business trip when my own car suddenly stopped on the corner of Hollister and Aero Camino. First time my car has ever broke down. However, I was very lucky to have stopped near a yellow sign with Westcoast Automotive on it.
The staff is fantastic, informative, and pleasant to work with. They were so kind to drop me off at work after I dropped off my car. An hour later, I get a call getting an update on what they’re doing and what they’re going to do next. Another hour later, a solution was made and was ready to get picked up.
I’m always wary of car repair shops, but I felt confident in leaving my car there. Definitely two thumbs up! Too bad they’re not down in the OC/​LA area.
