We decided to stop in one day for lunch and I sure am glad we did. I love the home cooked food and it’s a buffet! The service was fast and friendly! I will definitely be going back

I have been here twice so far and I have to say, I am extremely impressed by this little «hidden gem». I came here one time and I had to ask to go back again.
It’s a buffet place and all the dishes there are just hearty Louisiana food! Walking in was like going into someone’s house with all the southern atmosphere and I absolutely love it! Also, service was very friendly!
Food! Amazing! They have the best fried chicken, fried fish and seafood gumbo there. It’s really all home cook meals!
I will definitely go back next time, so if you happen to be in the area, give it a try and you will not regret!

Food was NOT good at all. The teenage girl (wearing lounging shorts/​tshirt) at the front looked at us like we didnt belong there as we walked in. The older red haired woman was RUDE when we paid for the food, we tipped her great too. Seriously the food was veryyyy mediocre, food was cold, not enough food either. Then on top of that RUDE RUDE RUDE.

If you like old style home cooking, this is a place to try. We kinda classify this as one of those «dive» places that you love to go to from time to time, but don’t bring friends to make an impression. We tend to do more fine dining, but this is a place where you can step back in time and get about the best «Grand Maw’s» cooking in a 50 mile radius of B.R. Otherwise, you’ll have to drive to MaComb, MS and eat at the Diner Bell (recommended). However, if you do eat at the Country Kitchen I’d suggest going early as the place can get crowded quickly, especially on Sunday’s. For a buffet it’s a hidden jewel.

Well we came back! So far the food and the service is pretty consistent! Well worth the price! This looks like it’s going to be one of our go to’s !

Have eaten here a few times over a few years. Nothing great, but not bad. Seems to be a little dirty at times. Lots to chose from on the buffet. Some good some not so good.

This place is a hidden jewel. Everything that they have is delicious. Not only can you get great home cooked food, you also can choose from some really intricate items of antiques. It’s not expensive at all. And, they have groupon deals.

This place is pretty much the definition of rinky-​dink. I went a while back when I had some business in St. Amant, and would say it was a fairly regrettable decision. My dad loves this place and had raved for months about how delicious it was and that I needed to go. I finally gave in, though I will say getting here is no simple feat. It’s a bit off the beaten track, so you have to know where you’re going. The outside looks wholly unappealing, and were it not for the Kitchen part of the name, I would think it to be some sort of thrift store. The food isn’t really bad. I mean, it’s not really good either though. It’s just food. The kind of food your grandma would probably make if you went to her house on a Sunday afternoon, provided she isn’t dead. Except your grandma would probably make it better. Possibly even if she is dead. It was more or less the kind of spread you might see on a kfc buffet — mashed potatoes, green beans, fried chicken — with a few other things thrown in for good measure. The cornbread could probably be used to cut diamonds. A lot of the dishes were totally soaked with butter. The fried chicken was actually surprisingly good, but was really the only thing I would say had any redeeming qualities. The bread pudding was acceptable as well. Despite the pervading unwholesomeness of this place, the regulars seemed undaunted. I got there just a bit after they opened and it wasn’t too crowded, but within about 5 minutes a crowd of simply MASSIVE people had been seated and were eating plates of fried chicken piled high enough to sate the nigh unending appetites of people who weighed in the 400 – 500 pound range. To put it lightly, I felt like I was eating with pigs at a trough. The only thing missing was for the people replenishing the buffet to call SOOOOEEEEYYY! Anyway, I think you get my point. It makes for a less than pleasing dining experience. The place was pretty costly too, for a place with nothing particularly good to eat but fried chicken. I think I remember it being $ 12, though it has been about a month so that may be off slightly. In summation, though I wouldn’t expressly say not to eat here, I will say that it is probably in the better interest of both your physical and mental health that you do not.

Small locally owned restaurant open for lunch. You walk in through a small gift store and are then seated. There are steps depending on where you are seated. Open 11 – 2 Sunday — Friday. Closed Sat. Buffet is the only option and the menu changes daily. Good local cooking. I believe it would be called «soul food». Very small inconvenient restrooms. My family loves the place. Busy. Not fancy.

Very good lunch buffet. I enjoyed the fried chicken and the had a great gumbo the last time I went. Definitely worth checking out for lunch.
