Great place, great food owned and operate by great people! Their menu is so huge, lots to choose from! Sushi, hibachi, lunch or dinner, you name it! I love their service, great servers and great Chiefs! I love their sashimi and sushi rolls, fresh and yummy! Lunch specials are so reasonable! This place is decorated well and clean! Nothing bad to say! :)

I have gotten food poisoning from this place twice. The first time I thought it could of been a stomach bug. So I decided to try something else on the menu. My son & I were both super sick that night and the next two days. Will not be back.

I adore this Japanese restaurant. Although I eat here all the time, I’m ashamed to say this is my first review. I met a friend here for dinner after spending all day at the New Orleans jewelry show. I ordered a single order of the California rolls, seafood soup, and a small order d edamame. Our waiter was super attentive and very kind. We had absolutely zero problems. I will be back– they have fabulous miso soup!

What kind of sushi restaurant doesn’t allow you to sit at the sushi bar! I didn’t get to try the food, I am sure it is very good. I was pretty upset that they would not allow me to sit at the bar and acted like I was crazy for wanting to sit there. Hopefully next time I try it will be a better experience. Review not based on food experience.

Place is a solid 5 stars! The food is fresh and delicious every time. It doesn’t matter if you’re dining at the bar, tables, or hibachi this is the go-to sushi spot. Ps(always a good idea to check the to-go before leaving on busy nights).

Got there around 6:30 on a Friday night. Really busy but a 30 minute wait wasn’t too bad. The service was a bit slow maybe because they were so busy and all the food did not come out at the same time. Order an asparagus roll and cucumber roll, both of which were new to me. The food was fresh, served attractively and the cosmopolitan was great! Will definitely go back either a bit earlier in the day or one night during the week.

Our group visited Hello Tokyo twice during our stay in Louisiana. Both times were excellent and we all left satisfied. In fact, one guy in our group originally from California said it was some of the best sushi he’s ever had. Yes: it’s that good. The quality is supreme and the fish is always fresh and delicious. Each time service was friendly and servers knowledgable. They also have happy hour for drinks and appetizers which is nice. Every appetizer we tried was quite tasty – I especially recommend the yakitori. But the best thing Hello Tokyo offers are their hand rolls. They are simply palatable. While we visited Hello Tokyo twice, it wasn’t enough. I’m finding it hard to say goodbye to this excellent place.

Went here to try the sushi before a movie. We were seated quickly and were in and out with speciality rolls within 30 minutes! We started off with miso soup and snow crab salad. I have to say it wasn’t the best soup or salad I’ve had but it wasn’t the worst either. The snow crab salad was just seated on top of some sliced cucumber. Usually, at other resturants, we get it with mayo and avocado to make for a better presentation. We got the Hawaii Roll and the Spicy Dragon. My fiancé thoroughly enjoyed both rolls. I thought they were good, but not great. They did have a nice presentation and the Hawaii Roll had a delicious sauce on top. Our service was very good and our waiter made sure to get us taken care of quickly to make it in time for our movie. However, I did see a neighboring table to be having problems with their waitress and we were in and out before they even got any food. The décor was really nice, small, and dim lighting and TVs set around for guest. I did notice a fully stocked bar with places to sit and a small television about the bar that was set aside from the resturant, which I liked! There were also about 3 – 4 hibachi tables for guests dining for hibachi. In terms of the Gonzales area, I would say this would be our«Go-To» sushi resturant. We are excited to try the hibachi!

I never think to eat here… not necessarily this location, but the one in Baton Rouge. The food is good and so is the service. The location is in a dingy strip mall, but if the food is good, who cares?! The avocado salad is delish. It has to come with ATLEAST a whole avocado and for the price, it’s a good deal in my opinion. The shrimp teriyaki was enjoyable as well. I’ve had their hibachi and it’s good too, and entertaining as well. The fried rice is okay… I’ve had better. I was looking at the drink specials and they were cheap. Had I been in the mood to drink, that’s the spot to be!

I have been here numerous times and I must say I love it! Sushi tastes great and they have a ton of options. I also love the fact that you can have hibachi at you table and don’t have to go to the big grills. They have lots of different sauces that I love to experiment with as well.

In terms of restaurant and sushi options in the Gonzales area, it’s great. For an overall sushi restaurant, it was just ok. Stars for service, ambiance of restaurant, and location. Sushi quality and presentation could be ALOT better. We ordered the Dynamite roll, crunchy roll, LSU roll, and Rainbow roll. The rainbow was bleh, the raw fished used was very thin and didn’t add much to the roll. The dynamite roll was too oily and too much sweet sauce, was not a favorite. The LSU roll was better than the dynamite, but the tempura deep fried batter on it was too oily, which did not make the roll taste good. We liked the crunchy roll the best, but even that was just ok. If they can put more effort and quality into making their rolls, it would be an excellent sushi restaurant. Everything that is battered and fried was too oily and the sushi was not rolled properly, as it kept falling apart when we were picking it up with our chopsticks. I’m not a sushi snob, but if I’m paying 12 bucks for a roll, I should leave a restaurant somewhat satisfied.

Great food. Do not order take out. They never, ever include soup and or salad with Hibachi dinner. Also, your food is never ready no matter how long you wait to pick it up.

I love this sushi restaurant! The quality is superb and the wait staff friendly and attentive. The presentation is beautifully done, so well that I sometimes don’t want to dig in :) There are hibachi grills as well with lively shows of fire and tossed utensils… great for families and groups! I will be back for sure, or take out, whichever comes first!

Was scared to try sushi back when they first opened. So glad I gave them a try. They are now my «go to» place. Great fast service.

Somewhat limited traditional sushi menu but what they had was excellent. Primary focus seems to be specialty rolls which were plentiful on menu. I didnt try one but they all looked good. I’ll try one on next visit. Nice atmoshere as well with lots of activity at the Hibachi tables.

I have to say and I mean nooo disrespect to Gonzales, because I love my home, but I was really shocked when they actually got a Sushi restaurant. Then to hear how good it was, I kept thinking there is no way! HAHA, boy howdy the joke is on me!!! I was there in July and went with my whole family and it was absolutely delicious! I’ve eaten alot of sushi in my day and I will say this is probably one of the best I’ve had! We had edamame, my son ordered the avocado roll, the California roll. I ordered the LSU and the Mardi Gras roll, both were to die for! My brother got the Death Valley roll and that one was awesome too! Others at the table ordered the lunch portion of the hibachi, one was chicken and the other ordered shrimp. The portion was huge! You could have eaten it three times and they said how good it was! I look forward to my next visit home so I can go back to eat here!!!
