Ho hum, about like the Walmart across the street. I don’t know why stores in Gonzales are dirtier and cheaper feeling than the ones on the outskirts. More blacks are probably some of the problem, but the employees look so discouraged. I’ve heard LeBlancs is as bad to work for as Walmart or Kmart, so I suppose moral is a problem also. However, I’ve been to their«Showstore» heading towards Prairieville many times, it’s not much better there, and the rather homely, fat girl they have at the front entrance to handle customer issues is so rude she really needs to be working at that nasty Albertsons down the road. Prices are a little higher at this newer store too, but I have to admit it is at least clean, even the bathrooms. Curious, do only white people raise the lid when they pee?

Love love love Leblancs! There are always staff when I need help finding something. If they don’t know where it is located, they find someone who does. The meat is always fresh, as well as the fruit & veggies. I think the salad, hot bar, & sushi bar are awesome additions. I especially love the fruit bar. I must rather spend the extra money and shop here than at Walmart. The cashiers are always smiling and friendly.

I actually loved this grocery store a lot. We were staying at a hotel nearby and needed a few groceries to last us for a few days. I cannot stand Wal-Mart and their cheap crap and equally cheap and crappy service, so a quick Unilocal search led us to Leblanc’s. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how organized everything was. There was a great deli section with a lot of already prepared meals such as Chinese food, sub sandwiches, vanilla pudding, rotisserie chicken, sushi, pasta, salads, guacamole, pasta salad, etc. So many choices for those of us who can’t cook in a hotel room! My FAVORITE was the beer section! They had all kinds of craft beer and even a «build your own 6 pack» for 9.99 $. We found some real treasures here. Like the«Hopsecutioner».(If you’re an IPA fan, you MUST try this!). Wish we had these grocery stores in Houston!

If I had written this review a couple weeks ago, this store would probably have gotten all five stars. Their ribeyes are exceptional, they have a hot lunch bar that I could eat almost to the point of pain, and several specialty meats like lamb chops and veal cutlets that are difficult to find in other stores. Nearly all products, though, are a good 10−20% more expensive than their competitors, so watch for specials. It’s ironic that the ribeye was the bone of contention. They put out an ad which to me was very misleading, indicating a sale price for ribeyes. When I got to the store and asked about the difference, I was told that it was a different cut of ribeye that was on sale, but, even though I did a pretty good once-over in the meat case, I could not find the advertised price(smelled like bait and switch to me). What was even worse was the arrogance and haughtiness of their manager, Michelle(?). She seemed completely uninterested in the prospect of losing a customer, rolled her eyes at me, and refused to show me where the advertised cuts were. It is because of her attitude, and only because of her attitude, that I will be spending much less of my grocery dollar in that store.

I rather come here than Walmart. They are more expensive. They used to give samples around the store on the weekends which were fun, but I haven’t seen them do that recently. There aren’t many people on the floor to ask for help finding something. The bathrooms are horrendously dirty.

Leblanc’s has good choices for fresh meats and their overall selection of products are plentiful. It is a good choice for most grocery needs in the Gonzales and Prairieville areas.

Great local store, friendly service, fast checkout, close to home. Maybe a little more expensive than bigger chains, but worth it!
