Eddie Canales from Valley Tire was called out after my brand-new tire from Rossi Brothers in King City went flat at Gonzales. Eddie discovered the problem was that Rossi Bros. had neglected to replace the cracked valve stem(which they had charged me for), leading to the same slow leak that had ruined the first tire. When Rossi Bros. denied any responsibility for the problem, Eddie himself got on the phone and read them the riot act. He volunteered to put a new tire on for free if they brought it to Gonzales, which they refused to do.(He did not have a tire of the correct size in stock himself, which didn’t surprise me – they are low-profiles.) When he tried to put the balloon spare back on the car so I could get to the Rossi Bros. store in Salinas(the only option the King City store gave me), he found that Rossi Bros. had stripped the key for the lug nuts, but managed to trim off a portion of it in hopes that the threads were better farther down, and it worked. He was well over the closing time for his shop when we finally parted company, after hours of wrangling with tires on my car and jerks in King City. Eddie was a hero and did his best to get me out of a bad situation. I recommend him for doing the right thing, even for someone who ended up not being a customer. Bless you, Eddie.
