My parental unit retired and moved to this over 55 active community, where there are a lot of East coasters but many Californians too. Meaning, this is a very active community. The grounds are kept beautifully, the two community centers with pools, art studios and restaurants are a highlight and the bocce, tennis, and pickle ball courts are their pride and joy. There are groups to join a plenty but more importantly, people are very welcoming and social. You can always find a group of guys riding their bikes in the morning together, or ladies speed walking or just gabbing at the pool. There is a large art department that varies from beginner to advanced, and you can go at your pwn pace. There is Ceramics, painting, blowing glass, stained glass, wood working, pottery… I am sure much more. Those involved really love it. This is a golf community too, so there are carts driving around from the second the sun comes up until it goes down, and everyone waves hello to one another. It is really a relaxed place to reside. Many people are«snow birds» and only stay during the winter months, as the summer is very hot. Others stay all year long and some take intermittent trips around the country to escape the heat here and there or to see family. There is a wide variety of people that reside at Pebblecreek and there is something for everyone. In terms of the surrounding area, it is really only 30 minutes tops to the Phoenix airport and so close to the major highways, you can ride up to Scottsdale in 40 minutes for some shopping or a good restaurant. The only thing in the area«to do» besides shop at Target/Costco/Ross/Sprouts and the nice spring training stadium, is Westgate: a shopping area with restaurants and a large arena as well for sporting events, that is nice to go to to eat or just people watch. Other than that, the quality is up in Scottsdale. There are no communities like this in Scottsdale though. So it is one or the other. I go out and stay with my parents at least once usually twice a year. I take my valuable vacation time off from work to stay there with them because it has everything I like; The pool is great, it is very relaxing, they are very accommodating to guests using their community centers including pools, gym and workout classes. Plus, I am able to see my parents.

My Dad live in this 55+ community and it’s a great place to visit. Guard gated for security, it’s like staying at a golf resort. The clubhouse has a bar and restaurant and there is always plenty to do. From the pools to activity clubs it’s a great place for the old guys like my Dad to spend their retirement :)
