I’m almost sure I had Rudys driving though Texas at a gas station this place was a little price-y and the one in texas seem better.

Every part of my family’s meal was over cooked and flavorless. I was especially irritated by finding string in a rice crispy treat. Cmon man, I understand the occasional stray hair but string?!?

Rudy’s grab and go breakfast burritos are quick and easy and yummy! I usually grab the brisket and egg burrito and a jalapeño sausage and egg burrito! They are pre-made so all you need to do is walk in grab, pay and go… or you can special order a breakfast burrito. Either way you can’t resist the smokey flavor of Rudy’s brisket and sausages!

I’m admittedly a BBQ snob. This spot is average. Didn’t like the sauces they have, but the moist brisket was alright.

Second time being here and had to bring a friend. Got their breakfast tacos and let me tell you, GREAT! A little messy but what great tasting taco isn’t… The floor set up reminds me of family reunions. Long tables lined up and everyone sits next to each other. Also noticed they serve First Responders with respect and generosity. Well done Rudy’s!

Giving three stars because the piece of prime rib I had was cooked perfect. Everything else I’m kinda like what the heck? Had some new potatoes which are red potatoes boiled in salt water very basic. If you like meats like you would get at a great picnic our backyard Q then this place is great. I’m just not really into eating my prime rib with a plastic fork and breaking my fork three times. Cutting prime with a plastic knife is very different as well. To go with that nothing like juicy prime rib on a piece of butcher paper and not a plate so it runs all over the place. Thank heaven for level tables. I also thought I could get a cold draft but everything is in single serve bottles. Over all food was decent but I probably won’t be back. It really felt like an over priced picnic!

Been here three times. I’m not really a fan of the picnic tables and the BBQ is just ok. When this place opened the lines to get in were insane. Now that everyone has tried it, no more crazy lines.

Rudy’s used to be fantastic, last two times we’ve been really disappointed. We placed a to go order at the counter and it wasn’t good… My LEAN Brisket sandwich was all fat. I actually had to trim the fat off each piece when I got home and when I finished I had as much fat as meat. I bit into it and had a mouth full of fat that was nasty. I ordered a half jalapeño sausage and got this little 2″ piece. The ½ sausage was MUCH larger in the past. My wife ordered a pulled pork sandwich and the pulled pork had onions, celery and other things mixed in. It wasn’t just«pulled pork» like it normally is. She couldn’t eat the whole thing as she said it didn’t taste good. The green chili stew was the only enjoyable portion of the meal.

Haven’t found too many butcher style BBQ places here and was skeptical,(which i normally am now of any bbq place after having little miss), but this place didn’t disappoint. Allowing you to sample anything on the menu before ordering was huge plus. I had the prime rib along with a non spicy sausage and some shredded brisket. All was pretty good most definitely better than any Lucille’s or Famous Dave’s etc. This is good BBQ!

Always a crowd pleaser with those who love to eat meat. This place serves Texas-style BBQ. The meat is smoked in an onsite slow cooker, so it is always quite tender. My personal favorite has always been the extra-moist brisket, but this last batch was so fatty, I wish I hadn’t ordered it at all. Other family favorites include: the lean brisket which is slightly drier than the«extra-moist» because there is no fat on it; the smoked turkey; and best of all, the jalapeño sausage link. Save some space for the sides. Potato salad, coleslaw and beans can all be bought in different sized containers to satisfy your hunger level/group size. The corn on the cob is worth getting your teeth all jammed with string. If you still have room for dessert, you can indulge in their banana pudding. When arriving, get in the snake line. Yep, just like an amusement park and be prepared for your mouth to be entertained. Grab a bucket and fill it up with the longneck bottles of beer or root beer sitting on ice in the line aisle. As you near the front of the line, grab your sides in the open fridge. Be sure to study the big menu board too, so you’ll know what to get as you approach the counter. Most of the meats have to be ordered as a ½ or whole pound, but they will also prepare a sandwich for you. You can get white or wheat sandwich bread. If you are in a large group, get half a loaf or more. All the fixings are slabbed onto butcher paper on a tray. Wooden picnic tables and benches can be found both inside and outside on the covered patio. You will find butcher paper dispensers on the wall, so you can line your table surface. It’s easier than plates to wad up and toss at the end of the meal. Napkins are also found in mounted dispensers on the wall. Each table has a caddy of sauces made by Rudy’s which complement your meal; although the sign of well-prepared meat is that which doesn’t require being smothered in sauce, but it can be nice to add heat and enhance the flavor. There is a condiment trough in the middle of the restaurant where you can load up on pickles, onions, jalepenos, lemon, as well as bags to take leftovers home. Drinks…if you buy a tall Rudy’s cup, you can bring it back the next time you visit the restaurant for free refills. Just don’t forget your cup! Both sweetened and unsweetened iced tea are available along with the usual Coca Cola soda offerings. This chain restaurant is a personal favorite since my days of going to the original location off 360 in Austin, Texas. I’m glad they have opened locations in the neighboring states of AZ and NM, so I can enjoy it anywhere in the southwest.

The food is always delicious, the people are helpful and patient and the experience is always a good one! It can be a bit pricey but it’s worth it! The moist brisket is my favorite! I just wish there were some tables that were easier to get into than the picnic table style. :)

Came out to Goodyear to visit a buddy for the weekend and heard rave reviews about the bbq here. Decided to stop by for lunch on the way out of town and so glad I did! The girl working the registering found out it was our first time and gave us a few samples of menu items to help in our decision. Once I tried the chopped brisket I was sold! Also got a pulled pork sandwich and a few sides and they where all excellent! Next time I’m in Goodyear this is my first stop!

Came here for dinner last night some family. Had the Moist Brisket, spicy sausage, regular sausage, baby back ribs, corn, cole slaw and potato salad. Great food and service. The restaurant is always clean and staff is always friendly. This is a better deal then most of the other BBQ places in the valley. Glad we came.

Love this place. Came to AZ for vacation and my husband took me here. From beginning to end this place was great. Gave us samples to try, staff was helpful and friendly. We tried a couple different things my favorites were the pulled pork and ribs. This is by far one of the best BBQ places I’ve been to. Diffenlty recommend this place!

The real winner here is the side dishes. Try the potato salad and tell me that it is not the MOST amazing potato salad you have ever had in your life! Seriously, I love BBQ — beef, chicken, pork, sausage, you name it, but I can easily pass on all of that in favor of the CRAZY wicked good potato salad. I know… I cannot believe I said this myself. But I love Rudy’s and I love their potato salad. If you are with Rudy’s — NEVERCHANGE that recipe or I will find you. I have a particular set of skills. Not like a male nurse or something podantic like that… I mean actual skills.

Delicious! Like always! The meat is always yummy! It doesn’t matter which kind you get. The cram corn and potato salad are the usual!

Garbage… poor excuse for Texas style bbq. This review is based solely on the food. The building is nice and the staff friendly. The food on the other hand is bad. If really smokey, dry, and bland bbq is what they are going for they sure nailed it. The wife and I had the pork ribs, moist brisket, sausage and pulled pork. What a disappointment. The moist brisket is usually a favorite at a good bbq place but here that tasty fat is inedible. Dry and tasteless… this is the kind of bbq that is made as a vehicle for their sauce. Very disappointed as I was led to believe the food would be descent from friends of ours. If you want real Texas style bbq, drive down to Phoenix and try Little Miss Bbq. Beware though… you may just get spoiled.

Horrible brisket. I love Rudy’s. I first learned about Rudy’s when I lived in Austin and I fell in love with their moist brisket. A year or so ago I was in Phoenix and I went to the other location(the higher rated one btw) and I found the quality and flavor to be the same. I was in Phoenix again this weekend and dropped in to this location for the same moist brisket and it was dry and rubbery. I ordered a ½ pound(the minimum) and ate four bites off of four different slices and all of them were awful. Avoid this location. I don’t know what they are doing but whatever it is, it’s doing the chain a disservice.
