Philly Cheesesteak

DAMN! These were awesome. After a LOOOONNNNGGGG day of driving, I was NOT in the mood to go driving around looking for a place. My wife pulled this place up and it had good reviews so we went before they closed.
We each got the full 12″ with double meat. These were cooked to order and took a few minutes.
ONE WORD OF CAUTION — These were VERY HOT when we first got them, but they smelled so good we both dug right in and we each got a blister in our mouths from the melted cheese. But let them cool off for a minute and YOWSA, are these awesome! Ate half in the restaurant and the other half in the hotel room later. Amazingly the bread stayed soft but chewy even later that evening. They use the great Philly bread from Amoroso and that aspect made this a 5-​star winner! They are only open to 8 and do not take any orders after 7:30, so do not wait until later in the evening.

This one is a bit of a tough one to review. If I was basing it on the food alone, it’s a solid 4 stars. The service was strange so I am inclined to rate it 3 stars but my cheesesteak was really good so if future experiences are better or at least consistent with good eats, I’ll definitely bump up.
My friend and I stopped by Philly’s for dinner one evening, the Friday after Thanksgiving. To be perfectly honest, we were headed to Booyah Wings (really want to try that place!!) but as we soon realized, many spots were closed on Black Friday.
We both ordered the 8 inch (forgive me if I’m wrong, I’ve been slack and should have written this review sooner!) but what was weird is I picked the combo with fries, and my friend ordered the combo with onion rings which cost more according to the counter menu. We were both charged the same thing but I’m not sure if I got overcharged or she got hooked up. Also, I really felt like they were ready for us to leave. Just the vibe I was getting. After we were done eating, we stayed chatting, mainly because another customer came in after us and was still there after we were done eating. Although we both felt that vibe, we didn’t rush out but otherwise we would have!
The cheesesteak I ordered had cheese, onions and mushrooms. It was meaty and delicious! Very tasty and I’d absolutely return for the food. The service was a bit unorganized, strange vibe, and nowhere near what I’d call professional but friendly enough. Go for the food! Not the ambiance.
