Moose Brook is a beautiful State Park that offers great camping and picnicking in the Gorham area. It isn’t far from town, so you can easily hop over to grab supplies or a quick bite before or after setting up camp. I love Moose Brook because it has some very nice, large spaces and is a pretty place to spend the weekend. I’ve camped at many, many campgrounds through out the White Mountains and this one is on the top of my list for the area. It’s about a half hour drive to the Pinkham Notch visitor center and is even closer to a lot of other hiking trails. I highly recommend you check out MB if you are looking for a nice place to camp in the Gorham or other northern areas of the Whites.

Campground is wooded with level ground to setup a tent. Metered showers with hot water but there were only one shower for the entire site which is a downside which meant long lines to clean up after a hike. Most sites can fit 3 tents and a car. Highly recommend it.

Moose Brook State Park is a very well kept, lovely state park in the White Mountains. I was impressed with their staff, the check-in«lodge,» the bathrooms, and the general condition of the park. Swimming is also convenient and in a neat location(pond-like). The sites can be a little small, so it would be hard to know which site is best for your party. We were lucky choosing site 22, but 18, for example, is a lot like a space next to the drive with little privacy. Most wooded spots are without grass, but some are in open, grassy areas. Not much privacy in those, but I think the grass is the tradeoff, as well as space for something like Frisbee. It looked like there were some really great, wooded sites in the 30’s, that pulled back away from the road a bit. Drive through before choosing a site if at all possible. Lots of bear postings around the park, so better safe than sorry with food storage. However, we didn’t see anything larger than a squirrel. We had a great time and wouldn’t hesitate staying there again!

Loved staying at this park. Even though we had to survive through the worst thunderstorm I have ever experienced. Fishing, Swimming and Hiking all right there. You have a choice in the campground between wooded and grassy, which is nice depending on your preference and a few sites are a tiny, tiny walk in so you cannot pull your car directly onto the site.
