The best restaurant in Northern NE. We love the Kushi Katu with bulldog sauce. The chicken fried rice is also the best Japanese rice I’ve ever tasted.

I was very underwhelmed when I visited here. My friends and I had just climbed Mt. Washington and we wanted to reward ourselves with some good food. While the food wasn’t toxic or anything, we were far from impressed. We may just have high expectations for oriental food in general, but Yokohama didn’t live up to our standards.

Average Japanese /Chinese American food which is slightly overpriced. The drinks are strong so beware.

Chicken curry was most definitely Campbell’s chunky stew with curry powder in it. The very expensive tempura included a slice of uncooked onion about ½″ thick and four inches in diameter. I had to remind the waitress that I ordered a drink. I ended up spending $ 40, tried every dish I ordered twice and went somewhere else afterward. Do not go here. For the love of god and anything holy do NOT subject yourself or your loved ones to this abomination of mankind.

I echo the other reviewers that the menu is less than focused and that not one Asian person was anywhere to be found. I had a tempora special that had shrimp, chicken, onion, and green pepper for $ 15. My friend had ribs and rice for $ 13. The food was ok, it just lacked flavor. I recommend the duck sauce – it made all the difference. The rice, on the other hand, had lots of flavor, even if it was salt. I think they put almost a whole bottle of soy sauce in a cup of rice. It was overpriced for what it was and we probably won’t be going back. If you don’t really like Asian food, give Yokohama a shot!

Locals love this place. Me– not so much. Not really ethic food. More like a French Canadian spin on Japanese.

Oh Yokohama, your questionable decorum and menu are only two of the reasons why I appreciated you. I think they advertise as being Chinese/Japanese/American cuisine. If it had also specified anything along the lines of Italian or pizza on the sign, we would’ve kept driving. Upon entering, you’ll notice the various Japanese food wares for sale. Pocky sticks, dried salted seaweed, wasabi peas… the list goes on. We started our meal off with some of the various cocktails that boasted a free glass with purchase. I went with Zombie, tasty as usual, Anthony had«the fogcutter», Lynz had the«dizzy buddha» and Dave ordered the hot sake. Lynz’s was the only one that was subpar, and it tasted like high octane sour mix. No dice. We ordered some crab rangoon, which was really nothing special, and then I ordered some sort of GIANT ramen dish that boasted steak, chicken, and pork and a medley of veggies over some perfectly cooked noodles. Not a foreign concept, but the noodles were really outstanding. As the previous review mentions, there is not an asian in SIGHT in this place, which was really odd. And the bathrooms smelt like orange sherbet and had a shower curtain seperating the toilet from the sink area, even though the bathroom was only built for one. Normal.

Have been going here all my life when up in the White Mountains. It’s definitely it’s own type of food. The fried rice isn’t like any other I have ever had, but is really tasty. Its not quite Chinese, not quite Japanese, not quite Polynesian. Its just damn good, and it’s hiding up in Gorham, NH. If you go, get an order of Kishi Katu, wich is basically chicken katsu on a stick. The fact that I’ve never seen an Asian person working there is probably why its such a blend of styles.
