I went to this restaurant Saturday afternoon for lunch with some friends only you be extremely disappointed not only where they out of all of my first choices of drinks they where also out of my first choices of food as well and I ended up ordering stuff I didn’t really want all that bad. Then the food started to come first the calamari I tired it and it was way over cooked so I didn’t eat it when the waitress came back to the table I asked here to take it off my bill and they refused said that because my buddy ate his personal order of calamari I had to pay for mine as well which I did not eat I told them I refuse to pay for it because I can’t make my buddy stop eating his personal calamari because it’s over cooked that’s his choice they proceeded to tell me I had to pay for it but they would take 50% off so I agreed because I was ready to move on with my dinner and was tired discussing it. I then moved on to the tnt rolls they were okay but not great but the best thing I had from there. The chef then came out to cook the entries this was a cool experience I have never had before I enjoyed the show the steak tasted all right as well as the rice the lobster was rubbery and veggies steamed well by the time every thing was on the plate all I could taste was soy sauce I ended taking almost everything home and throwing it away the next day and spending 2 days on the toilet I would not recommended this place to anyone and strongly encourage you to not go there I had a terrible experience there and will never return also everything is priced extremely high my meal was $ 51.90 I paid with a $ 100 and got $ 57 back shorted me $ 1.10

This is the crappiest place in town. The waitress Katie thinks she is a rockstar and doesn’t care where the people want to sit even when the restaurant is freaking empty. Please skip this place !

I love hibachi grill restaurants and this one is decent. The food is good but the waiters are somewhat slow. The chefs are amazing and keep me coming back. I gave this business a 4 star, because I once was charged double on my credit card, and another time they ran out of filet mignon and not everyone in my group could get it. Definitely seems to be slacking in most recent time

I’ve tried several hibachi restaurants in the Michiana area and this one is the best. The reason is the quality of food, the service, and the atmosphere. I mean we’ve tried every Japanese steak house in the area except Dashido and this has been the best. My favorite is the shrimp hibachi, the quality of the shrimp is the best. I’ve seen them do really nice things for their customers, like lay rose petals out on the grill for a couples anniversary. They also have a full bar, and you can order a pot of tea. I hope this restaurant continues to do does well, it’s my favorite.

Service was mediocre. Hibachi is not worth the price compared to other hibachi restaurants I’ve been to. Sushi was sub-par. Liquor drinks weren’t strong enough.

When this place first open it was amazing but as time went on the service got worse and worse but the sushi was still good. But yesterday we went back again to give it another try and the sushi wasn’t even close to the same. My wife and I actually both got sick from it. This place will be closed soon do not waste your money

Five of us celebrated a birthday at Kaizen. We had several appetizers, sushi and the hibachi. Everything we had was wonderful! The crab rangoons were the best we have ever had. Our chef was very friendly and skilled at his craft. Service was amazing. Nothing but good to say from all five of us!

I ordered 3 sushi rolls, and my total was about $ 43. very overpriced sushi for decent sushi.

WOW, really? I also gave Kaizen several opportunities(within a short period of time) to redeem themselves because they are close to home and I love sushi. The first time I did pick up — and yes, have a snack on hand because lunch will be long over by the time you actually receive your food. It probably would have been finished much sooner if the ‘sole’ sushi chef(is he the new owner?) didn’t spend all of his time running his mouth to whoever is sitting at the bar. I saw the one guy at the bar, who wasn’t waiting on food, and the only other people in the restaurant were finishing their meals. My sushi should have been a quick fix, not 45 minutes. The second time, again I picked up for lunch. This time it was a really simple order — like california roll kind of simple. Same thing; guy spent more time chatting and being distracted then he did actually focusing on making my food. This was only a 35 minute wait, however, when I got home to eat it, it fell apart. I have a picture I took because I was so disappointed I was originally going to send it to Kaizen. The rice didn’t taste fresh, and the sushi was not rolled near tight enough. I think my child can roll better sushi — perhaps there’s a challenge in there somewhere: P The third time — the LAST time: WOW. When the people at the table behind you are asking if your food is okay and have you been waiting long, it’s officially a problem. The food was mediocre, the service was absurd. The avocado salad(essentially lettuce and avocado) took 1 hour — it came out after the first of our dinner sushi rolls *yes, only the first. Two separate waiters asked me what I wanted to drink but never brought it — I had to ask the waitress for it. Overall it was really quite frustrating. The only people eating in the restaurant were at the Hibachi grill. We packed it in — a few hours of being treated like a barnacle is enough for me… but wait; there’s more! Then they tried to charge us for a roll they didn’t make because«they were out of that roll»… ??? really??? We have sworn to never go back; and why would we? We always get great service and delicious sushi at Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi, and it’s less than 3 miles from Kaizen. Kaizen — spend less time wondering about how to market your restaurant and more time being attentive to the customers you have. It’s easier to keep customers than try to make new ones~

HUSBAND and I was once more at this restaurant, was impressed by this new black waiter or darkly colored, I cannot recall his name. yet he was prompt. and knew his menu items, answered questions, quite well, compared to the Chinese or Korean girl that’s been there awhile, ask her a question, seems like asking a rock a question, she uhmm uhmm us, and had to go find out mostly everything– not impressed with this kind of service. she should know her stuff by now, !! I hope the new guy stays, you rarely see this anymore, that is «waiter impressive » and is on top of it. !! the one thing I did notice, is … not his fault, .but chef /preparer’s. he brought out husbands food first while I sit still waiting for mine. is a no no. bring food out together,– time it more better, specially when the restaurant is empty or there is only 2 separate customers. geesh. they kann at least bring food out in proper time-ing . DO not bring food out separately. this is sooo bad.. husband thought this was such poor service as well, while he is eating and I am sitting there … waiting for my food. (yes, he was hungry) …residents of Goshen we are returning customers, many times.

Better grab a Snickers… it’s going to be a while. I have been here a couple times and every time the service is at a snail’s pace no matter how slow their night is, there can be only five tables filled and it is still beyond slow …My last visit ended at a hour and forty minutes before canceling the remaining part of the order that had not came out yet… This place has potential if it wasn’t for the slow service. The food overall isn’t bad at all, I have had better I also have had worse… I however don’t have the patients to wait 2 hours for dinner. So needless to say my last visit there became just that, I gave it about three tries and came up with three strikes

We are at hibachi grill… Steak was cold. Overall it was mediocre, not bad just mediocre. Salad dressing tasted like 1000 island and vegetable okay. I would come back and give it another chance.

We ate on the hibachi side. Good food, well prepared. Service was good. Solid four stars. I agree with many of the comments in long review by person that compared with Hana Yori.

Very good food, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I walked in, but I was very pleased with what I got, the steak I had was very good, as was the rest of the food which included fried rice and vegetables. We were going to try the sushi but were talked into sitting at one of the hibachi grill tables by the waiter, will definitely return sometime to try the sushi.

Finally, a sushi/hibachi place to enter the Goshen area that is NOT a buffet. Food menu is awesome and their food presentations are always done very well. They have a full bar and seem to always be working on new mixed drinks to serve.

Amazing sushi. Best I’ve had outside of Florida and California. The Hibachi is great as well. A great little gem in the middle of Goshen.

The food was so good, I had the filet minion and shrimp hibachi with an urban sushi platter and the show was so impressive! Nice shots of Saki was a cool addition too

Just when you thought it was safe to meet friends out for lunch at a Japanese restaurant in Goshen Indiana… I can’t remember what the place used to be, but it was way better. The disco ball should have told me that food wasn’t the priority of the new owners. The waitress brought out the dishes 1 at a time. This resulted in everyone finishing their meal before the last member of our small party even received his. He’d mentioned that he had bad experiences twice before and that he was giving Kaizen one last chance. Too bad for them that they didn’t deliver. They weren’t even busy! Imagine this. a sushi restaurant running out of sushi rice. Once the rice was there, the chef prepared the rolls in his winter coat. In. His. Winter.Coat. When the manager was called over, he offered 10% off the rolls. Insert sad face here. The one star is for the fried rice I ordered. We would have been better off getting take out from a $ 3 lunch special type joint.

We liked this place and for the area it’s great. The hibachi is pretty good, a lot like Hani Yori in South Bend, but the atmosphere is much better. It’s newer and more modern. We liked everything except for the crème brûlée dessert, I don’t think they let it set up enough, it was watery. Our entrees were great, all hibachi, shrimp, filet and chicken, all really good! Definitely recommend this place! The carry out is really good too, good packaging, all the sauces, sides, etc. included.

The sushi here was really great. You could tell that the fish was very melt in your mouth fresh and the chefs new what they were doing. We did not try anything on the Hibachi side but they were busy the entire time we were there. Lots of people seemed to really be enjoying themselves. Will definitely go back(especially since it is only 2 miles from home)!!
