In a world where most people dread going to an auto repair shop, Mike’s was a very welcome change from what I had experienced in the past. Mike was very upfront and extremely accommodating to our needs. We had to get our front brake pads and rotors replaced after hearing them start to grind. We stopped by the shop at 3pm in the afternoon not expecting to be able to get it done that day (but hoping as we needed the car for a commute to NYC the next day). Mike was very upfront about the cost and also went out of his way to have the job done that day. We got the car back by 6.
The price was very reasonable and in line with what the job should have cost, so we were very pleased. Bottom line: Price was just right, service was outstanding. We are thrilled to have a place so close that we feel that we can trust to do a good job at a reasonable price without being shady like so many auto repair shops are. We will be going to Mike’s for all our auto repair needs!

Mike has been in the business for a long time, and he’s a very nice, professional, honest mechanic.
He explained to me how my rear brake weren’t adjusted properly and were causing extra strain on my front brakes. He offered a very reasonable price (much cheaper than the dealership) for service and parts, and to allay any concerns, he mentioned that he uses quality parts that come with a 1 year, unlimited miles warranty!
Will definitely return for any future service!

I needed new brake lines on my jeep. I had almost no braking power and needed it fixed yesterday. After calling the service dept. at the dealership I bought my truck from and them telling me they wouldn’t be able to fit me in for another three days I took a chance and called Mikes. They were able to fit me in the next day and had it finished by days end. Mike knew what he was talking about and gave me all the information and options I needed to feel well taken care of. He also preformed an extensive look over and told me and educated me on what other work my truck needed to be at tip top shape. I will certainly be going back for any work that needs to be done.

Mike has been my mechanic for the past 6 yrs. He is honest, trustworthy and a true gentleman. I highly recommend him for all your auto care needs, and look here first if you’re in the market for a good used car.

I have been using Mike’s Autocare for over 20 years. I have brought in all kinds of cars over the years (Even a Peugeot that no one wanted to work on) Mike and his crew have always done good work. Mike is honest and will go the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied. I have recommended Mike’s Auto to a lot of people and all of them have been satisfied with his work.

I live in the area and asked around for a trustworthy mechanic. Mike came highly recommended. He did my brakes for a reasonable price, and the work was done promptly & correctly. No problems.

My Starter failed and began draining my battery while I was on Route 17 near Goshen last Friday night. I got off the exit and got about a mile before the van died. The next day I looked on Unilocal and called Mike’s. I asked if he had a tow truck, he said yes. Not true. It turns out he uses a nearby tow company. I was pretty sure it was the starter and I have changed a couple myself in the past. This one, in a 1999 Chevy Ventura is easy to get to and if I wasn’t stuck on the side of the road I would have replaced it myself. He agreed that it was my starter and charged me $ 437.00 for the tow and to replace the starter. I asked him why it would cost so much and he told me the part would cost $ 199.00. I told him that I priced the part at AutoZone for $ 120.00 and that any decent mechanic should be able to swap out the starter in half an hour (it would have taken me about 45 minutes), and even at $ 100.00 an hour for labor, the cost should be more in the mid 200 dollar range (Not including the 60 bucks for the ! mile tow he got me). He had no answer. I had no choice but to have the work done since I live 40 minutes from Goshen and the tow would have cost me over a hundred bucks. He had the work done in less than an hour. When I paid him I said «I cant believe what you’re charging me». Guess what his response was? He said «That’s what I get in this area». I told him «I can’t believe you just said that». He said nothing. The one star is for doing the work correctly. So remember, if you live, or break down in Goshen and have Mike do your repairs, you will be paying much more than you normally would because Mike says «That’s what I get in this area».

Excellent service ! The place to go to when you have car trouble! Honest! And that’s a rare quality these days !
