This winery is nice. If you are a party of less than four, you will be waiting longer. The people who had chocolates with their wines seemed to get more attention. The area from the door to the parking lot could be better lit after dark. I will need to come again when it is less busy.

I had heard mixed reviews on this vineyard, but I don’t understand why anyone gives it a low star rating. Had a 6 wine tasting, loved 4, felt the other 2 were ok. Bought both the Woodbridge red and the Cayuga white because they were our favorite. The owner, Marla was fantastic. So hospitable and knowledgable. This was a great choice of vineyards on the trail.

This winery is absolutely beautiful but our experience was only okay. It’s just way too crowded to have a relaxing time. It’s hard to jostle your way for a sample of wine at the bar, and only one bathroom creates a long line. Granted I came on the weekend in fall, so that could be it. I would like to try it at a time where it is less busy.

This place is a hidden gem. The owner and his wife were giving us a great amount of info while we were having our tasting. The wine was just delicious and different from the other vineyards we visited. The highlight of our trip was that they make the most delicious white port! The tasting room itself was small but inviting. I would recommend you not miss this stop and do get a couple of pieces of chocolate with your tasting!

Where are the servers??? You have 2 people to manage the tastings on a weekend? Really? I wont even comment on the wine because we waited 30 mins to get through our tasting! I saw the 2 stars and i shouldve just skipped this one.

seriously, don’t waste your time here. I would give zero stars if Unilocal would let me. It’s not aesthetically pleasing. The staff is overbearing and borderline rude. I did not feel welcome here at all. We came for the passport stamps, and my husband went to the bar to get our stamps, and the worker gave him a hard time about getting two books stamped, because I was shopping and not at the bar with him. It wasn’t even crowded. Also: there is one bathroom in the whole place, and theres always a long line. Not cool. not cool, not friendly, not a place I will be going back to.

I really don’t like Miranda. I haven’t done a tasting there in years, but the first time I went, I really didn’t like the wine. I go there every year to get a passport stamp, due to their close proximity to Sunset Meadow. The grounds are not particularly pretty and the tasting room always seems to have a funny smell. Today they had music, but it was indoors, and I’m not sure why. On a such a beautiful day, they should have had it outside so that people can enjoy the nice weather(as they do at Sunset Meadow). I do have to say they were perfectly pleasant today about giving us our stamps without a purchase, so I appreciated that. But I agree with Lesley M’s review: «Definitely a place to skip…»

Love this place. Run by really nice people, relaxed environment. Really enjoy when they have live music. The Rose and Farmhouse Red are great — and are really good if you chill them.

We’ve visited here just become of its proximity to the other wineries in the area, and since we live an hour away we might as well take advantage of the wine trail. But this year we might skip it. Having visited almost all of the vineyards over the years we have something to compare it to, and as much as I can appreciate that each one is different as they should be, this one just needs some help. The wines in particular. Just all taste very young and just overall not good. The tasting area is very small so it seems rushed sometimes and cramped. The staff is always very nice though. And they have the olive spread we love so much. They do have a relaxing outdoor area. But if the wines need help, it kind of defeats the point of taking the trip here.

Just listened to some great music, had a picnic, and popped a couple of bottles of vino. They have lots of tables inside or out. Wine by the glass or bottle. Cheese and chocolate if you forgot to bring your own picnic. I spotted some board games over the fireplace for the next rain day visit. Worth checking out!

I am a huge fan of the CT wine trail. There are only a few, however, that make the top of my list. Miranda is one of them. A small, quaint environment that makes you feel at home the moment you step inside. The owner is extremely friendly and I love the fact that you can find her there most times I visit. The wines are great and the views will keep you around to enjoy a bottle afterwards.

I am saddened to see the reviews on here that aren’t as glowing as mine is. First and foremost, this is absolutely a beautiful and bucolic location with staff that go above and beyond to make you feel a part of the Miranda Vineyard family, imparting their knowledge, while ensuring you’re well taken of. Not to mention, the live music and saxophone playing in the background. I would say an ideal fall Sunday! I can’t imagine someone not having a great experience here, and frankly, have found this one of the most enjoyable CT Vineyards I have visited. This is a must stop on the CT wine trail and I look forward to returning time and time again. Bravo and kudos to the Miranda Vinyard family and team. We enjoyed our time here!

Gorgeous venue. Lovely CT wine. Your are not in Napa or French wine country so why people are comparing any of the wines to these regions is unknown. Take off your Napa expectations and enjoy the wine as it can be grown in the climate we have. That being said I would like to start with what a great place to spend a quiet Sunday tasting some lovely CT wine. For Connecticut wine, Maranda Vineyards is as good as any of the other locations we been to. The Vineyard itself is a gorgeous venue and the staff is knowledgeable warm and welcoming. If u have been to any other CT wine tastings you would know that all of the wineries use the annoying 1 ounce fillers. I am guessing this is a CT state regulation this is not unique to Maranda vineyards. Have a tasting buy a bottle or three and enjoy. .

I’ll start by saying that I have visted a LOT of vineyards on the CT Wine Trail. I appreciate that they are trying to do something local and I like supporting family owned businesses, but the wine here was not one of my favorites. They weren’t necessarily bad, but just nothing too exciting. When we arrived, there were few cars in the parking lot, but there was a wait to do a tasting at their very small tasting area. We were confused right away by the process — which was to cross off two wines that you would NOT want to have. There were something like 7 wines total, so it would have been easier AND more positive to check off the 5 wines you do want to drink. This would have started us off on a less negative note. Because there was a line, I did sort of feel like we were being rushed through the tasting. It would have been nice for these folks to have had extra staff to start up what appeared to be another tasting area on the other side of the house that they use as their tasting room. Also, while the setting was nice, there was virtually no one there enjoying a picnic or enjoying their wines and the nice weather. This did not seem to be somewhere where people stuck around for a period of time and just relaxed and took in the scenery and the wine, like other vineyards in the Litchfield area that I have visited. All in all, not a bad place, but could be more inviting to customers to get them to stick around longer and make the atmosphere a little more fun and exciting.

Look, I’m not going to be too harsh on any place that is trying to make good wine. Let’s face it, we need more good wine. We can’t have enough good wine. If it weren’t for good wine most of us wouldn’t be friends and some of us wouldn’t have been born! OK, that being said, Miranda is still trying. It was my least favorite stop on the wine tour so far. Most of the people I shared my perception of Miranda with agreed or were even more critical. I really didn’t like anything about it. The wine, while far superior to urine, had a curious flavor. It wasn’t anything that would make you curse as you spit it out, but I did consider spitting it out. The chocolate/red wine hype was contrived. The chocolate was fine but it didn’t make the wine taste better and the wine might have imparted an indelicate finish on the chocolate. I left Miranda wishing I had skipped it. I’m not likely to go back but make up your own mind…

Definitely a place to skip… Though the wine was good, the seating area was small and the portions were teeny tiny. It was busy when we went, so I felt like I was chipped. The menu was confusing as you had to check off the wines you did not want. Best part of the visit, the $ 1 inch piece of Fascia’s dark chocolate with chili, sea salt, and almonds. However, it is a beautiful place with a spectacular view.

Jeez… I don’t even need to look at the date stamp — I can tell that my original review of Miranda was one of my first ever Unilocal.Woefully overdramatized, laden with dumb jokes, the syntax of an eighth grader… On second thought, perhaps nothing has changed. I returned this weekend with a bit less booze in my veins. Miranda is a solid winery, but not the gem of Northwest Connecticut as 2012 Jason M. might lead you to believe. At the top of the list of criticisms: the once generous pours have turned stingy. Exactly half an ounce from the Vladimir Putin-sponsored wine spouts, and not a drop more. Also, the tasting selection process is downright weird. For $ 7, taste all of their wines except for two — pick the ones you don’t want. Come on now. Considering the fact that you serve wine from a device ordinarily used to keep hamsters hydrated, I think you can let your patrons run the gamut. I especially like the Rosé. Manhood, here’s the door.

3rd stop out of 4 on the NW leg of wine trail. Not all that impressed. We arrived and it was pretty blah as far as décor goes. Not cozy or welcoming at all. There was a woman singing acoustic renditions of songs and she was good as far as the singing/guitar goes but when she would speak in between sets she had no personality, complete monotone. zzzzzz. It seems that they were going for a coffee house vibe but it wasn’t coffeehouse cozy at all. Its like trying to turn Genpop in prison into a coffeehouse vibe. As for the wine, decent, but the wine host was super young and trying way too hard, not natural at all in her conversation, it felt forced and corny, It’s too bad because this vineyard is super close to our new place, but I wouldnt care to return if it was next door.

Well worth a stop on the CT wine trail. Plenty of room in the tasting area, a nice deck overlooking the vineyards, and plenty of seating for those looking to sit and relax. The wines were quite good and they had some gourmet chocolates(to taste with the wine) and a nice cheese selection to purchase and enjoy. We bought a bottle of the Woodridge Red to bring home and enjoy.

The tasting room was lovely, overlooking the vineyard and rolling hills in the distance. We were hosted by the owner’s wife, who knew her grapes and her wine, and was able to give us a plethora of information and history. Unfortunately, none of the wines really stood out to me. Not to say that anything was bad; everything was good but unremarkable. My favorite was the merlot, and the port that I paid $ 2 extra to taste.
