Great, friendly staff with nice, clean rooms. We were on a roadtrip from MN to Las Vegas. After 10 hours of driving, we were ready to call it a night. I found this hotel with a combination of and a hotel search on google maps. Their prices were reasonable for the area and the reviews were good, so we decided to book a room! We didn’t make any reservations before hand, and it was pretty late at night. The receptionist greeted us and was able to get us a room quickly. The room was nice and clean, a standard king. The night passed and we were on our way right after checkout. We did snag their complimentary breakfast before we left, it was pretty good. Bisquits and gravy with orange juice. Overall, this hotel made a great stop. Perfect for a quick one night as your passing through NE.

My crew and I are railroad workers. We rolled in to work on a de-railment in the area and stayed at the HoJo. I woke up earlier then my room-mate and went down for coffee. Not only was no coffee available in the Hotel but I was basically accused of being homeless by the very grumpy hostess. I had to prove I was a guest in order to use the lobby and no coffee was available, when I ask her to make coffee I got attitude contempt and refusal. The thing about a Hotel is you expect Kindness and graciousness, I didn’t get either and I don’t imagine anyone else will either. If you don’t want to work night shift then you just shouldn’t, but punishing your guests for is the wrong answer, and it will be a costly one for this HOJO, see Gothenburg has several Hotel choices and this company and these customers will be choosing another one.

Great place to crash for a great rate. It was clean and comfortable with a very friendly staff! Breakfast was what you could expect from a continental breakfast, and there is a fantastic coffee shop just up the road.

One of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had, a great value. The other review is outdated, because this Howard Johnson looked like it was practically brand new inside. The room I had with a king bed was huge and everything was very clean and modern. What really impressed me was the indoor pool and spa(hot tub). Not many affordable hotels have these, but they did here and again they were very clean and relatively new looking. I’ve been to plenty of hotels where the pool is dirty or old, but his certainly wasn’t the case. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was great too. I don’t expect many vegan options with continental breakfast, aside from fruit, but they had oatmeal here, in addition to many other options. Even the bed was super comfortable. I’ve stayed at many hotels along this road trip and my stay at the Gothenburg Howard Johnson has been the best so far. It may not be a royal suite, but you’ll be very impressed with what your money gets you here.

Ugh. There were so many things wrong I don’t even know where to start. I prepaid my room to get a better discount. When I checked in, they couldn’t find it, even with my printout including their confirmation number. View was of the backend of the canopy overhanging the carport. Wall in room cracked. Pubic hairs found on edge of bathtub when I went to take first shower, TV with no closed captioning. Door to my room would not open without great pressure and had to be slammed to close. The sound control was horrible and I could hear a conversation from people 2 rooms down. «Breakfast» was choice of fruit loops or raisin bran. Supposed to be available until 9, it was put away at 8:50 when I got down there. I was stuck for 2 nights, so I saw breakfast the second morning. They just had a couple of bagels, a couple danish, and english muffin. Whoopie. A comfort inn suites just opened next door and there are some mom and pop hotels in town that would be better than this. Heck, a tent at the nearby KOA would be better than this!
