This restaurant did not deserve the negative reviews from previous years. We were pleasantly surprised with a delightful dinner last week at this lovely venue. The service was very efficient and pleasant. The menu offered a good variety of choices at very reasonable prices. Our dinners were delicious and nicely presented. We were happy to discover this gem, in an area that is somewhat limited in quality dining opportunities. Richard M.

Lovely location on a cove, although the night we were there(on a busy Sunday evening) the noise level was too high for my party(of 6) to have a pleasant conversation. The restaurant’s main problem is its unimaginative menu and mediocre food that is unexpected for an upscale restaurant. The entrees that my party ordered — fish au gratin, pasta with cream sauce — were overloaded with carbs and oils. Someone who wants a healthy diet should probably look elsewhere. They seem to be trying too hard to cut corners. My spinach salad($ 9) consisted of a cup of baby spinach, a few thin apple slices, three candied walnuts, a tiny amount of blue cheese. The mediocre bread was served with what the waitress described as olive oil — which was a clear liquid with the viscosity of water and little taste(what was it??). The waitress tried the usual trick of predatory restaurants — announcing a «special» for the night without mentioning its price — which turned out to be considerably higher than any other entrée on the menu. OK folks, I am willing to pay a premium for a nice dinner at a lovely site — but this place has to do better than this!

I’ve had the good fortune to vacation in this area for over 3 decades. As a result, I feel obligated to provide a review that is reflective of the dining lay of the land. While Chase’s is a solid 3* breakfast and lunch restaurant, and the Fisherman’s Inn is a solid 4* dinner option(and the only comparable dinner location to Bunker’s Wharf within a 20 minute drive, with a more expansive menu), if you’re looking for a fine dining option in Gouldsboro, Bunker’s Wharf is the place to go. The menu is limited( ), but well executed. The food and beverage price is higher than what you will find at other places on Schoodic peninsula, but is deservedly so. You will not find better service, location(request a table by the windows) or well-prepared meals on the point. This is my annual«last dinner» for a reason.

Really beautiful restaurant on a gorgeous bay. Not as bad as some reviews that gave it a 1. They were trying hard and the service was quite good and friendly. Lets just say that they took 2 adults and a child who had been hiking the Cutler Coast all day and did not look so great. Ill keep it at that. Good selection of 5 local drafts. I liked the Atlantic Red. The food however was only just«average». The menu was also not so special. Not a lot on it. The prices were HIGH for average food. We like to do spendy but like to have something special. The lobster stew was great but a little small. Decent amount of lobster but was expecting a big bowl of it. The spinach salad I had was good. Pear, home made pralines. Goat cheese. Aok. Nothing special. Wife had a seafood pasta that was a little short on the seafood and was nothing special. Cost…$ 24. Should have been really $ 12 –14. So I saw some other seafood restaurants on the way back that did not look so good but looked more like value. Great place… but not worth if for the money. I would not do a 1 by any stretch… but hate that feeling that you could have had better food when really hungry and paid a lot less. Yes…the view is great. And the lobster at the table next to me looked about as yummy as Ive seen. The price«market»…hmmmm Last, they do have a kids menu.

Their seafood is quite good. Winter Harbor has limited options, and this is a good one. Good seafood dishes, sized adequately. Price is on the high end for the area, but fair for what you get. The atmosphere is relaxed and nice, good views of a pocket harbor out to the Atlantic. Decent wine and beer selection. I’ve been going to restaurants in the area for years in the summer, and I would recommend this to a friend. When you’ve had your fill with Bunker’s, head back down the road to the Nautica Pub for some live music Thurs-Saturday– as it’s the only«nightlife» nearby. The two 1 star reviews from Pennsylvania probably were part of the same party, and I would have to speculate they caught the place in an off-night, and are pretty sour about it– the management and staff are all friendly and we’ve never had a bad experience. Locals and regular summer visitors like the place considerably.

Avoid! Waited over one hour for food even though it wasn’t busy. Bread wasn’t fresh. Pizza appetizer was worse than a frozen pizza. The entrees tasted like bad catering. Bland and unimaginative. Blech! Run away. I’d rather go hungry than eat here again.

This was the worst restaurant meal I’ve had in recent memory. The bread offered to tie us over was hard and stale… no food arrived for 1 hour! The kids’ linguini was tasteless and luke warm, my chicken was rubbery and tasteless, my broccoli was uncooked and tastless, and served with pasty pilaf, and a said of spicy sugar sauce, which has no business being on the plate. The haddock with seafood stuffing was awful and bland, requiring a pepper shaker just to eat it. This was served with frozen green beans with no taste. Just like bad catering food you’d get at a wedding reception at a sub-par venue. The waitress repeatedly apologized for the long wait and did give us a complimentary glass of wine, but nothing could ever make me dine there again.
