I’ve been passing by this place for YEARS!!! Had a client of mine suggest it so my husband & I tried it tonight. It was OUTSTANDING!!! In every way shape and form!!! Was greeted immediately and seated. The bar area with its 2 fireplaces was really nice and clean! Pool table and lighting, perfect. Waitress was sweet & knowledgable. The food was OUTSTANDING. If I could give 10 stars I would. I cook a lot and love to eat out but I rarely find a place that ranks high on all aspects. The Angry Mussels were to die for. So delicious. My husband had the fried oyster basket. Portion was huge, nOT greasy, done perfect. Both sauces and coleslaw were homemade and YUMMY!!! I had a chicken plate(forgive me for not knowing the name) but it had fresh lump crab over the chicken with a Fradiablo sauce. Scampi rice and fresh green beans. oMG!!! It was EXCELLENT!!! Will be a returning customer for sure!!! Excited to fine this Gem of a Resturant and will tell everyone I know about it!!! The only slightly off thing I could say would be outdated restrooms… but that’s it! — Happy & Full!!! Thanks O’Donnels!!!

Yep! Chef recommended the special, T-Bone! Great choice! Best steak I’ve had the pleasure of eating in some time! Perfect! The taste was superb! I’m stuffed! As good as any 5 in the city. Great service and always friendly. Thanks Kevin

Consistently good food!!! Especially convenient when you just don’t want to spend the time and energy cooking a meal and cleaning afterward when you’re on a vacation. Dina is such a sweetheart and makes the best drinks on the east coast. It’s hard to find such quality in food and service in this part of Pennsylvania, but O’Donnells is not to be missed. Great for singles, couples, and families. I love it here and aside from ordering to go, they also have a deli and beer selection if you’re in a hurry.

Unfortunately was there once and won’t be back. We don’t live far and wanted to try somewhere new. Went in on a Saturday about 6ish and it wasn’t busy. Right away that is usually a bad sign. Was very clean and decent looking. Service was slooooow. Servers are nice but don’t seem to get it. Took almost half hour to get our soup. I think part their fault and the slow kitchen. Menu was way overpriced. Paid $ 7 for my daughters 1-cup amount of ziti. Food was very good but poor service outweighed it. When will restaurants learn it’s all about the service?

Nice place. Selections range from $ 11 for sliders to $ 33 for steak with lobster tail. Friendly service. Good selections are fresh and great.

My party of eight thought the food was terrific. Our waitress/owner was a delight. She was kind to our young children and made us feel right at home. I’m told It gets crowded on weekends and reservations are needed. Try the strip steak it was awesome!

The people who run this place are psycho! We watched with our mouths wide open as on a Friday night in season, with empty tables, they turned away a 6 top of paying customers(and were nasty about it!) When we politely requested that we did not want French fries as we do not eat fried food and asked if we could PAY for a side salad or a vegetable, we were told we «insulted the chef». This told to us by the owner’s daughter!. Turns out the«chef» is Mom. Chef… hah! They insulted ME… so we walked out without even paying for our wine and found a REAL retsuarant! Oh and don’t worry about putting this on the list of places not to go… it won’t be around in six months! If you see any good reviews on this place… it must be by the owners or their friends(do they have any?)!

O’Donnell’s should be a repeating dining spot for us, being the«up-scale casual» dining opportunity closest to our weekend place in the Poconos. We found the menu items appealing, the dishes well prepared and the atmosphere just fine. This is a small roadside establishment with a long bar, 5 – 6 bistro style 4-tops, a couple standard tables and a long one for groups. We observed others walking in, seating themselves at the bar — all seemed to know one another. On our first visit to O’Donnell’s, we followed a large party of 10 through the door and were seated near them. Our server had both tables. We chose from the menu quickly, while the nearby party enjoyed laughter and conversation. When we asked if she would take our order so we didn’t get lost behind them in the kitchen queue, we got a «No» The rule is tables are served in the order they’re seated.” After complaining, we got our way. On our second visit, we were met at the door and revealed we had no reservation. We were led inside to lots of empty tables. The server/host was annoyed we wanted to choose our table, all but one she said was reserved. Apparently this establishment caters well to their regulars. We considered our server«overall rude and abrupt«, decided we really didn’t want to have dinner there, and left.

Came in here on a Thursday it wasn’t crowded but we sat down and it took the waitress at least 10 min to bring us a menu. Then when we finally got our menus it took her 20 – 25 to come take our order we waited a half hour for our soups Then out meal took over an hour and a half to come out the whole dinner took over 3 hours and poor customer service

I’ve never ventured to any of the pubs/diners in Gouldsboro(except for b’fast) since I prefer to BBQ when I’m in the woods, and I have really high expectations when it comes to food. That said, this place is AMAZING. Was with the family one weekend and it was a bit too rainy to BBQ so we decided to try this place out.(NOTE: If you put the address in the GPS it will take you to the strip joint up the street. Our waitress got a pretty good laugh when we called for directions.) We walked in and noticed that it wasn’t anything fancy, and there weren’t many people there for dinner. Our waitress was adorable, and wasn’t annoyed that we were talking longer than we should to order our meal(hey, I’m pregnant and picking anything off of a menu is a challenge these days). I order fried pickles(again, preggers), and the pan seared scallop special. My mom had another fish dish and my husband a steak. Additionally, with our meal we received a beautiful fresh salad. Oh, yeah, and the best garlic bread EVER. Seriously, the food was all made fresh to order and unbelievable. I have to admit, I didn’t read any reviews for this place before we went and I was expecting to be disappointed. So, very happy that we took a chance. We seriously can’t wait for our next visit to O’Donnell’s!

Probably the best place in Gouldsboro! Dena makes us feel at home! We’ll be there again next year. Cheers to the famous french toast shot!

Was visiting the area and was recommended this place and WOW, so happy I went! I had a steak salad that was just perfect. Big pieces of meat too! Perfectly cooked, not over done at all. The great bartender there made me a spiced apple martini that was the best drink I’d had in ages. I’ve been to some expensive restaurants here at home on the Jersey shore that couldn’t make a drink half as good. Really memorable and very affordable for the quality you get. Next time I am in the area I am definitely going back.

I am way over due on this review, but here we go. Loved it! We went to the Poconos for a family weekend this summer. We lucked out and found this great place. It is warm, clean, freindly and has really good food. My husband and I had nice steak salads, blue cheese, rare steak, balsamic dressing, nice. My son had a very good cheese burger. My daughter had the meal of the year here. Pittsburgh steak, I never heard of it, even though I fancy myself as a foodie. The Pittsburgh Steak is a trimmed strip steak that is seared with a nice dark sear, and rare in the center. It was the best steak I ever had. I am still thinking about that steak in September. I am thinking of excuses to drive 2 hours just to eat that steak. The mashed potatos went perfectly with the meal, and the broccoli was well cooked. Our waitress was the owner’s daughter and was great! Friendly and attentive. I would go back to O’Donnell’s in a heartbeat, I wish it was around the corner and I would be there once a week.

Awesome food! The service is outstanding especially if you eat at the bar. The bartender is attentive and very personable. The place is family run so they take great pride in their operation. The only negative is they measure their liquor pours, which for the«alcoholic» like me is a no no. overall I love the place
