Very unimpressed with the service, the pizza was ok to fair. Place is in need of a good cleaning.

Best clam chowder in the Pacific Northwest! Jason Muscus’ secret recipie is amazingly GOOD. Bartenders Ryan and Jeff are friendly, always smiling, no matter how busy they are! Ratskeller is definitely worth the stop! Can’t wait to go back!

Working their asses off on a holiday Monday when the traffic back to Portland sucks! Great pizza and a good selection of local taps.

The pizza here is simply awesome! And you can get a slice New York style! They have a huge selection of beer. This is the place to be after a day of shredding and to catch the game on their movie-size TVs.

I would say I was a bit impressed with the quality and quantity of the food! My friend and I drove up this weekend to ski bowl and decided to grab some food before heading home and boy oh boy I am glad we stopped at this place! We both got the Hawaiian burger and the thing was decently sized with a good amount of fries! Very tasty and the patty was cooked to perfection. The beer selection is like any other bad but a bit pricey but I understand it’s all about the convenience… I will stop by again on my next visit up to mt hood:) I gave it 4 stars since there is no table service but hey you can’t be lazy all the time lol

Went to the Rat to warm up after a very cold day on the mountain. Pizza was great and Ryan the bartender was really funny and gave great service. We especially liked the fireplace right by the door as soon as you walk in for a quick warm up. We will definitely be back! My husband also appreciated the great beer selections on tap! A+

Not quite ski season and mid week, this was the most enjoyable, relaxing place for a casual beer and pizza. Selection and quality of both were excellent. I believe our pizza was called The Rat… sausage, pepperoni… no rat. Feeling in a snowy mood, just had to order my favorite coffee drink… Moroccan Coffee. The gal up front hadn’t made one before, but some angel appeared from no where who made the BEST I’ve ever had and taught her how to make, carmelizing the sugar perfectly. Safe bet you’ll get an awesome one too! Though this isn’t five star dining, it’s a five star experience made this way by the atmosphere and staff. Our experience was very, very relaxing as the mountain wasn’t under skier assault, but I can imagine this would be a very busy, hopping, social place. I’d hang up my scrubs for a couple weeks just to have the chance to bar tend and hang out here all day. Looking forward to stopping in and seeing them at the peak of ski season on a weekend. I’m sure it’s a very different experience.

Great food combined with friendly service make this the best choice for food and drinks on the mountain! Amazing selection of draft beers, 17 taps to choose from! The burgers are giant and delicious. This is the place to watch sports on the mountain. Great atmosphere, lots of fun. I will return.

Don’t go. Charlie’s is right across the street. Better food, better beer. The Ratskeller is chasing a dream from the 9oies. Today, not worth my money or time.

If you have kids this is the perfect place. Plenty of video games and pinball machines and if you need more games there is more upstairs from the restaurant. Plenty of tvs if you want to watch an important game. The atmosphere is casual and laid back. Beer is great. You order at the bar so the service is quick. Pizza is OK. If you have kids then this is the place to go.

This is one of the 2 bars in Government Camp. Apparently the locals refer to this one as the«Gay Bar» and have many stories dating back to its roots when it was owened an operated by someone other than«Hit and run Hanna» Food is awful. Actually this place is a complete trainwreck top to bottom. From the cleanliness of the booth you sit in, the table you eat on, and the overall condition of the«restroom». The beverages are overpriced jig-poured drinks and and the patrons are patchouli stinking dreadlocked hippies breathing up all the air drinking cheap beer. If you want to really laugh you should see what this rats hole looks like when it rains!!! Over half the square footage of the establishment gets flooded. –This is the second time I’ve posted my review. The previous was DELETED by the RATSKELLER.

Fun place to eat. Loud, however. Great for kids. Has a bar. Really good drinks(I had Spanish coffee). Burger was good — alright. Fries were pretty good. Service was ok.

I guess I should have listened to my gut when they said they were out of chips and salsa. What restaurant runs out of chips? After waiting an hour, we went up to the counter and they had lost our order. You pay up front before you order so we tipped before we realized they«lost» our order. Will never be back.

Ive been there before(last spring) and this time was totally different. Two bartenders and neither of them know how to make a simple cocktail. The young girl was Friendly but incompetent. She seems to only know how to pour beer. The guy awkwardly made us a bloody Mary. and frankly, its never a good sign for the food when your server has black teeth. Must be slim pickings up there! Had a pesto pizza. It was good but very oily. Had to sponge off the grease before we could even eat it. I remember the pizza being much better last time we were up there.

Walk into the bar and ask for a glass of Pinot Noir, we ARE in Oregon after all. Bartender cops an attitude — never heard of it. Um, OR is famous for pinot noir. Jackasses. Great if you want a local bar for beers on tap and some liquors featuring hockey games(and only hockey). Large screen tv is nice, but again — hockey only! This is definitely a «bro» kind of place too. Seriously, heard that word uttered 3 times by one group. Ugh. Real wood burning fireplace is nice!

I’ve eaten at the Ratskeller on about 4 occasions and the place itself is always pretty dingy. Bathrooms should be used for emergencies only as it smells like someone tried to flush a trout down the urinal. The pizza is decent, but ultimately tastes kind of like a pizza you would thaw and cook at home. They claim to have«won awards» for their pizza although I find that hard to believe. Salads are that generic bagged mix with those horrible croutons that every shitty restaurant in America seems to have. On one visit I ordered a burger that was so stupidly large that it was almost impossible to eat. If the food wasn’t bad enough, the entire place is staffed by a bunch of jackasses. Everyone who works there seems has a terrible attitude and no one appears very interested in helping. They do seems to provide fantastic service to the local burnouts that sit at the bar though. Please don’t waste your time at this dive. There is better pizza at Zig Zag Inn. There are better burgers at Charlie’s Mountainview across the street and there is better service just about anywhere.
