I don’t know if you can beat this place in terms of value and«getting what you pay for». Ticket prices are $ 4 and, yes, they are typically movies that have been out for a month or two but if you aren’t someone that needs to see a new movie right away it’s well worth the wait. The concession prices are very reasonable compared to the bigger chain theatres and you get free refills on your drinks and popcorn. The cleanliness isn’t too bad at all. The seats in the theatre weren’t the most comfortable in the world but it’s nothing to gripe about. Overall the whole theatre itself gives off a nice nostalgic feeling and I’m glad to see theatres like this can still exist in a relatively small town.

I go here often. Sure It’s not fancy. Sure it’s a bit run down. Sure some of the seats are broken. But there is a charm about the place. Tickets are $ 3. Snacks are reasonable AND drink/popcorn refills are FREE! It is a great place to catch a second run of a favorite film or see a second rate film for a few bucks. Sadly it doesn’t play cartoons before the movies anymore. I once read a review from some Chapel Hill rag that was rating area movie theaters in the area. Graham Cinema got an A+ or an F-, depending on whether you had a car or not. I have a car! Last couple of times I went the movie dialogue was a bit difficult to hear. Not sure what happened, but it could use some work.

I’ve lived in the area for almost four years, and have been to this theater a total of three times but every time I go I’m always reminded of why I love it! The theater shows older movies, and certain ones that have recently been taken out of circulation. They have very limited showings, usually one in the early afternoon and one in the evening. Ticket prices are extremely cheap, especially when compared to matinée prices at Carousel Cinemas which are almost three times what you’ll pay here… Not only are the ticket prices way cheaper, but the concessions are a equally as cheap, so be prepared to pig out! All money matters aside, the theater itself is in great shape for being old and has a classic charm that is seldom seen these days. Once inside and past the dreaded concessions, you can either choose to sit on the«ground level» or in the balcony; and when you reach your seat be prepared for the most comfortable seats you have ever sat in! tips for newcomers: — come early! it may be a small theater but practically every showing is busy, and parking can be difficult to find. — cash only! Cards are not accepted here…(it’s a rather small operation)

This is a long overdue review! I don’t get here often as it’s a bit of a drive for me, but when I want a funky theater experience and a good movie is playing, I’ll go. Plus I love their concession set up! The Graham is an old movie house smack in the downtown and it looks like much of it is original fixtures are from various decades, which is the charm of the place. The popcorn shoot is my favorite and something I’ve never seen before in any of the old theaters I’ve visited. The tix are just $ 3 for second run movies, so it’s a great way to catch up on films. The concessions are a bargain price too. What I love is they let you put on your own butter and you get your drinks yourself too. Plus there’s Free refills on the drinks and the popcorn. When you want to refill your popcorn it’s from an old popcorn dispensing machine that you have to see and experience. You press a button and it comes out of a shoot warm & tasty! It’s like a giant gum ball machine for popcorn. Pretty darn cool! Overall it’s always a fun and funky experience and worth the drive!

I don’t make it up here often — Graham is a bit of a drive — but this is a nice change from the megacinema(Alamance Crossing, I’m looking at you). They only show a few movies at a time but the choices are usually solid and it’s reasonably priced.
