So, listen. I hate sweating. I do. But more than I hate sweating, I love fitting into my clothes. But even more than that, I love food & being lazy. Even though I have a gym membership, it can be hard to make it to the gym & even harder to push myself when I am there & not in a class. Solution — personal trainer! But I don’t like the trainers at my gym & I know a couple ladies who have been working out with Russell & look amazing so… off to Granada Hills I went! Look. I’m no spring chicken — I’m «fluffy» and«squishy» & my strongest muscles are buried beneath a protective layer of hard earned fat. I knew working with a trainer would kick my ass but that’s what I needed to get myself in gear. I’ve been working with Russell for two months now & it has been great! I leave sweating(gross) I’ve wanted to throw up(okay, I did a little once, but I was back in!) & I was sore for 32 hours after each session. But now, 6 weeks in, I can tell you that the soreness does start to go away sooner, the sweat is more like an accomplishment than an annoyance… but I still want to throw up. Russell himself is very encouraging & pushes you to your limit. I’ve had to slow it down when I was coming off a week of being really sick, but that workout was just as intense on my body as the other weeks. It’s not all weights, it’s a great blend of cardio, strength & resistance. I dread going the nights before, but once I’m there & focused I’m happy to be there. Definitely speak up if the training is pushing you too far, obviously you know your body & it’s limitations. But don’t be afraid to push it! As for the location itself, it’s two long rooms, one filled with equipment & one that’s bare. Parking is in the back, small lot, or street. Everyone I’ve interacted with there, trainers & other trainees, have always been polite & encouraging. It’s a team atmosphere! They’ve got a water cooler & if you need a towel just holler. And be sure to say hello to Miss Muscles if she’s there… & me. I’ll be the one with a bright red face huffing & puffing as I run to the corner & back… or up & down the stairs at back. Have been training with Russell off & on for a few months now, and he is a great trainer. He pushes me just the right amount! Not too hard – not easy at all. Only $ 20 a session and I’d say I’m looking pretty good ;).

Outstanding fitness instructors. I am personally being trained by Jeremy, highly motivating and inspirational. Jeremy knows what exactly how to fit a training regiment into my lifestyle. Continues to follow up with me through the week to make sure I do not deviate from the plan which was made. I would recommend him to anyone trying to lose weight and build some tone. Gym is pristine extremely pleasant environment.

This is not my primary gym but I do go here for personal training. It’s a small intimate gym that has everything you need for a ball busting workout if you know what I mean: p This gym is always clean and doesn’t smell unlike 24 hour fitness… lol. The staff is really friendly and nice. They have a water cooler in case you forget your water and good music playing to pump up your workout. I train with Jared and he kicks my butt like no other trainer I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this place if you don’t want to train at a huge gym where everyone stares at you.
