This Restaurant cannot seem to get out of its own way. A real shame, as they have one of the most spectacular, iconic views of the San Fernando valley. Ordered two bottles of wine for our group, from their extremely poor wine list, and the General Manager come by, sits them both on the table, and never opens them, or returns to do anything with them. One of the couples with our group, orders a meal to share, and they bring a seperate empty plate, and they are forced to cut the door themselves and scoop it off one plate and place it on another. When I inquired why they charged us more for the split, assuming there would be two fully dressed plates that had been split, the waitress explained; They should have done that… and nothing more was done. Including removing the up charge from our bill for the split. On top of all this, my plate was delivered in front of me, and I sat for almost 10 minutes with no utensils to eat with. Had been to the Odyssey 15 years prior, and had hoped that things had gotten better, sad to say they are just as bad as they always have been.

Sunday brunch was off the hook. So much to choose from that it expands into three rooms! More then you can imagine. Through in the hilltop view and you have it all.

Went here last night for early Valentine’s dinner(rather than dealing with the crowds next week). We made reservations for 7:30 pm thinking it would be crowded at dinner time but nope, the place was really quiet and empty. Nancy, our waitress, was nice and pleasant, and any questions we had were answered, so no problems there. Bread with butter and some kind of cilantro + parmesan cheese spread was good. Piña colada was good too. Three course dinners were OK. My prime rib was not medium but closer to the well-done side but that’s OK. My tomato soup was kind of nasty it was like eating thick pizza sauce with a big chunk of melted mozzarella at the bottom. The crème brûlée with berries was good, but the cheesecake was store bought kind and was kind of bland. So food was OK, tolerable, acceptable, but nothing amazing or worth driving back 50 miles for. My only real complaint was that they were kind of slow, which I guess can be a good thing or a bad thing. We arrived at 7:20 pm. Ordered at 7:30 pm. Finished dessert at 9:40 pm. That’s two hours, so for a three course meal, were probably waited 30 minutes before each meal came out, and spent 10 – 20 minutes eating each meal. Now we had nice seats and nice view of the city, but I think we would have bored waiting for dinner if we didn’t have nice seats. On a funnier side note, in the far side of the parking lot there is a great view of the city below. Since it’s on far side away from entrance there are not too many cars around there. Though we didn’t hehehe, the thought did cross my mind of taking the loved one into the back seat and hehehe… rawrrr!

I was brought to Odyssey for a surprise birthday brunch. There was a reservation for 2, but upon arrival, the greeter couldn’t find it. However, the greeter made things work and we were seated within 10 minutes. I took a gander around the buffet before I piled up. There were a lot of options ranging from sushi to fresh seafood(clams, crab legs, and shrimp) to meat to breakfast items. Basically, there’s something for everyone. My favorites included the breakfast potatoes and the clams. There was even a custom-made omelette bar! After all that eating, how could I not make more room for dessert?! Lots of varieties of desserts, but my favorite was the make your own chocolate covered strawberries/pineapples/etc station. There’s a staff member that takes complimentary photos, prints on the spot, and the option to buy the bigger size. Overall, I had a great birthday brunch experience here and I hope I can come back at night time to take in the beautiful skyline view.

You know what? The odyssey is a very elegant venue :) I’ve been here on 2 occasions. Both occasions have been through my really good friend who happens to have her mom working here. She held her baby shower and just this past weekend she hosted her daughters 2 year bday here. Both times I was very impressed. This place is(like I mentioned) very elegant and classy. The servers are very courteous and continuously Coke around to make sure your water glasses and coffee cups are full. She also had bottom less mimosas(which was my favorite). She had a stand right by the bar where you can make your own. Definitely a perk! Next to the bar she had her buffet set up. Just like a regular budget you get up and serve yourself. The serves here are in charge of making sure the platters are full. Again, they are very courteous and attentive. If you have not been to the odyssey, it is on top of a hill where you can oversee the valley. It is very pretty actually. I know this location is used to host parties as well as Coke by for a nice dinner. I have not tried the restaurant but the location is great! Perhaps I’ll give it a shot!

$ 41… Service was good today. We had Jesus as our waiter. Food is hit or miss though. Some things good, others not. Ravioli good, Oyesters not. Sushi was ok. Short ribs were good and the mashed potatoes. Honestly, I’d rather go to their sister restaurant in Burbank called«the cast away». The food is a little better there, and also the layout of the buffet is much better then it was here. Things are easier to get to, better presentation as well at the Castaway.

I’ve always enjoyed going here for large event occasions; like my son’s high school basketball awards presentations or my wife’s Toast Masters events. And pretty darn good food too! The winding road up the hill leads to a spectacular view of the SFV, day or night.

The view was beautiful and the prices were reasonable for a Saturday brunch off the menu. Unfortunately, there was no buffet today. And I would have liked more meal choices than the handful mentioned. The food was nothing out of the ordinary but decent. A friend and I shared a tasty brioche french toast and estate omelet with veggies grown there(could have used some cheese.) The wait staff were friendly and self-parking abundant. So all in all it was a nice meal in a relaxed atmosphere.

Worth it for the ambiance! I’ve visited the Odyssey several times now for various reasons(class of 2004 senior breakfast, gradpa’s 70th, dinner with friends and family, romantic dinner with the husband, drinks to watch the sunset, friend’s wedding etc.) The view: Five star view for sure! From the bar you will see the view of the valley and it is about a 240° view! I didn’t realize that the sunset was visible from their back patio which was great! Husband and I saw the last sunset of 2015 from there. The balcony has fire pits which makes for a great ambiance! The food: Hit or miss… I can’t help but compare it to castaway and I think the castaway food is better… I don’t get it though, it’s the same company… DON’T GETMEWRONG, the food is still good here but I have experienced it to have some inconsistencies at times. Special Occasions: It can get pricey as any place… they have various room sizes to accommodate your party. They hold weddings here and I’ve attended quite a few weddings held in castaway and odyssey and the DJ is hit and miss as well. .He did great during one of my friend’s wedding but messed up on the music for a cousin’s wedding. The food for the special occasions are again, hit and miss… However, it is still GOOD just sometimes it’s great and sometimes its good. I wish it was consistently great! The special occasion rooms are nicely designed and the views depend on the room. There’s usually doors leading to the outside area for better views. They do brunch here which is pretty $$$ so come hungry so you get your money’s worth! They also do occasions such as NYE parties, mother’s day, father’s day, etc. Overall, I’m glad there’s a place in the valley like this. I love the ambiance and the views. I enjoy being able to just stop by for a drink! The staff have been friendly too! BATHROOMSARECLEAN!!!

This is a very nice restaurant in the hills of of well, Granada Hills. It has an old school feel, but in a very classy yet modern feel. If that doesn’t make any sense, then I don’t believe you for thinking I’m cooky. We came here for the fiancée’s sisters birthday for brunch and I was pleasantly surprised. Service was a bit on the slower side and they do take your picture in the middle of the meal and then want money for it. A bit of a side winder drill attack. With the prices you’re paying it would be nice if it was on the house. Still, the food was good and the banana waffles I had were great. Nothing to write home about, but it did the job well enough. Oh, and they have wedding here with their fantastic view. Nice.

We came here for Christmas morning brunch and were so very pleasantly surprised! From the beautifully decorated Christmas trees, to the extra touches like Santa Clause coming by to give candy and take pictures with the kids, to the entertainment(a 3 girl group of fantastic singers), to incredible service by our waitress Nancy D., we never stopped smiling. Even our two year old was kept busy for 3 hours by all of the fun around him(which just does not happen). They even had a beautiful cookie decorating station for kids. Everything was very well planned out! The food was great! We had seconds and thirds… And let’s not even talk about the incredible desserts. All in all, a genius decision by my husband to have Christmas brunch at this restaurant!!!

I have been to the Odyssey on various occasions; for a company Christmas party, for dinner and with friends. The food is not bad, and the service is good. However, they also host events in that location, which in this case was a wedding. The private event seemed to have influenced the amount of time we had to wait to be seated, but once we were at our table everything went well. The view is perhaps one of the biggest pros in this restaurant. Almost all of the tables have a view, and if you’re in the patio area, there are heat lamps and fire pits that give the restaurant a very soothing and romantic atmosphere.

Had a dinner salad and a vegetarian linguine for a Xmas function here. The salad was meh and the linguine was ok. Should have taken the prime rib option but did not want the cholesterol overload. Been here on several occasions for their weekend lunch buffet and sometimes for dinner. The buffet and ala carte menu is way better than their banquet fare.

Ok… amazing view of Granada Hills but serves food that is just a shade better than cafeteria food. We come here to get the family together on the holidays but quite honestly the food is entirely forgettable. Let’s remember that my review is written with the last two thanksgiving holidays’ as the foundation of the experience. The wait staff ‘Jezelle’ was very welcoming and she worked very hard to make sure our glasses were full. The other staff were just ok, often times I noted that they would go first in the hallways instead of letting the customer pass thru. Poor etiquette. We are talking about little grandmas and grandpas. My wife who was on crutches and the wait staff would zoom past her and not offer the right of way. Food was sitting in chafing dishes and most of it was over cooked. Salad bar was an after thought. One bowl of just ice berg lettuce and carrot shavings with dressing that looked separated(old) and not attended to. If your looking for cuisine keep driving but if your looking for a meal with a view, there is no better place.

I came back for lunch with another coworker and was really happy that the service and quality of food has turned around! We were warmly greeted by the hostess and our waitress was very attentive. We had an amazing table by the window with a lovely view. We enjoyed our iced tea and Arnold Palmer. I ordered the clam chowder and turkey croissant sandwich. Both were very good. My coworker ordered the French dip and beet salad which looked delicious! I’m glad that the manager Melissa listened to my feedback and really made the improvements that were needed to make me give them another chance. Thank you! I’ll definitely be back when I have time to take a leisurely lunch on a sunny day so I can enjoy the view! :)

This is my go-to spot for Mother’s and Father’s day brunches! No other place can compete with the Odyssey. Here is what I like about the Odyssey: — The view is spectacular. — The variety of food at the buffet is huge. Burger sliders, oysters, crab legs, shrimp, rib eye steak, crepes, steak eggs benedict, sushi, grilled ahi tuna, breakfast burritos, eggs, bacon, salads of all sorts. I can go on and on… — The quality of food is above average and excellent for a buffet in general. — The service is great. Our servers are always on top of their game with champagne refills, plate clean up and just generally inquiring on how we are doing. — Value! For about $ 50/person you really get the most out of your money here. The biggest variety of foods. Here is what I don’t like: —(nothing to write) They have a private parking lot or you can valet it for $ 3.25. I rarely give five out 5 stars, but after going to the Westlake Village Inn for Mother’s Day this year, I realized how much I appreciate the Odyssey and was sorry I didn’t come to the Odyssey instead that day.
