A great hibachi style Japanese restaurant. Sushi is very good also. I’m not big on things not cooked so we get the cooked sushi. Try the Dragontails and the Fat Tuesday roll(crawfish). Granbury roll(crabmeat) is also a winner along with the Rattlesnake roll(shrimp). These are all cooked and done very well. Enjoy.

Every time we go we sit at the hibachi table! The service cue is always top notch and the hibachi chefs are really entertaining! I usually order the teriyaki chicken and my husband orders the chicken and steak. If you order two proteins make sure you are hungry because it is a ton of food! We also always order the Granbury Roll! It’s absolutely amazing! Over favorite sushi roll by far! We’ve never had an issue, just great experiences! Another plus to sitting at the hibachi table is that you get to meet new people!

I’m personally not in favor of rating places higher just because they are the«only place» in town that serves sushi. We drove in from Stephenville to try out some sushi after some friends recommended the place, and we were incredibly disappointed. It wasn’t that the sushi was outright terrible, it’s just that all of our rolls tasted exactly the same-bland. Both our rolls were listed as spicy(double chili peppers next to the names) and both were equally bland. I always order rolls with spicy mayo or eel sauce and they are always spicy, these rolls tasted like nothing(and I’m a baby when it comes to spicy foods, so I can only imagine what the rolls that weren’t spicy must taste like). In terms of service, same thing– not terrible but not very good. Our waiter repeatedly came by to take our order without giving us any time to look over the menu, additionally he never asked us if we needed anything or offered suggestions from the menu. After we ordered he never came back to the table to check up on us, someone else brought by our order and he didn’t come by until it was time for the check. The lack of service and bland food just made for an overall uneventful meal, especially considering that Miyako charges that same as good sushi restaurants in the DFW metroplex.

Oh where to begin… it started by having our party’s name yelled out like a drill sergeant when it was time to be sat for the«hibachi» experience. I felt like saluting the hostess as I was directed to our table. We were then waited upon by Laura who had the personality of a DMV worker. When I asked if I could get double veggies to substitute for rice she said, «I’ll have to charge you for that.» Uhh okay? The«chef» by the name of David was clueless on how to prepare anything and when all else fails, throw more butter and soy/ginger sauce on it. He prepared veggies first, then rice, then meat. Everything was prepared at such different times that if you didn’t begin eating right away, your plate would be ice cold. The shrimp was beyond overcooked and the steak had a nice bubblicious vibe to it. The only words exchanged between the chef and the table was a hi, how would you like your steak cooked, and bye. Patrons attend a hibachi setting for the interaction and entertainment aspect, not to just see an onion go up in flames… Did I mention the shrimp still had tails on them? One lady was so bummed about her steak that she didn’t even touch it! After David was done the grill was left covered in a burned mess. Oh and the portion size? Talk about being rationed. Dude, I’m paying $ 30 for shrimp and steak and I had to hit the Burger King on the drive home. Stay away from here. This place is a joke if you’ve ever been to a half way decent hibachi grill. Let one competitor come in with half a clue and this place goes under. Take your $ 30 and get a legitimate dinner elsewhere.

My family loves to eat at Miyako at least once a month. The sushi is awesome. My wife and Son love sushi so they share that and i get the steak/chicken and fried rice. This is a great place to take a date.

Great Hibachi experience. The food is great. Lunch is the best value. The only area of opportunity is the hostess and serving staff. Hostesses are never friendly they seem annoyed you came in. If you are going to drop over a 100.00 for Hibachi dinner for 4 people you want to feel welcome. Servers are hit and miss some are great some are average. Hibachi chefs are great.

Yea. We’ll continue spend our 18 $ per plate at the Sushi Axiom in Burleson instead. Root cause: Awkward banter from the chef, dirty grill to stare at after the cooking was done, sub-par tasting food, and what the hell was in that soup? However, the waiting staff is great!

I can’t say enough good things about Miyako. I’ve had consistently good service and food for many years. The owner remembers you by name, too! Frankie makes some of my favorite sushi. Kudos, bro! Love the chicken, salmon, strip steak, filet, and lobster. The fried rice is my favorite! They also do sushi very well, especially the rolls. My favorite are the Rattlesnake and Sunfire. Nice break from all the Mexican and BBQ restaurants!

Very average sushi. I didn’t find it bad, or especially good, just sort of very ordinary. What I found odd was that they did not have a lunch menu. Typically, a sushi restaurant in a suburban area such as this will put together various lunch combinations so that you can affordably enjoy a few things together. There were lunch combos that consisted of cooked items, But none for sushi. The result is that you order what you would get on a lunch menu and it ends up costing much more. For example, I had a bowl of miso soup, a small portion of seaweed salad, And six pieces of me nigiri sushi. One would expect, even in Austin, to pay about $ 13-$ 15 for this. The result of not having the lunch menu equaled almost $ 26. Having just arrived home from five nights in New York City, I found this very expensive and overpriced, especially when I drank water only.

The service was friendly and the food was great. The Rattlesnake Roll(no, there was not snake in the roll) was awesome!!! The shrimp is a MUST eat here and the steak was cooked perfectly. Of course, it was cooked right in front of us by an entertaining chef.

Disappointed after good reviews. I compare hibachi grills to Bonzai in Kerrville, RX, and this one doesn’t compare. Everything was bland. The best part of the meal was their ginger salad dressing. The steak was overcooked and had no flavor. The fried rice is $ 3 in addition to the price of the meal, and was bland as well. I was quite disappointed with this lackluster meal.

Horrible Experience! Everything was high pressure to run up the ticket as much as possible. Zero atmosphere, didn’t even look clean. Don’t walk, run away from this joint.

Friendly staff, but very mediocre sushi. Rolls were very salty which overwhelmed the taste of ingredients.

Just got back from probably my 26382th trip to Miyako’s. It’s always so good! My boyfriend doesn’t like coming here all that much because it’s kind of dark inside and we always get seated at the same table(it really bothers him for some reason haha) but I love the atmosphere! We’ve sat in the hibachi area once and the food and cooks were great. We normally sit in private dining though. My all time favorite roll is the Clawsfire! It has all kind of crawfish goodness in it and is super tasty. I also love the Granbury and Honeymoon rolls. I’ve definitely had better sushi but Miyako’s is so good for what it is and where it’s at. It’s the nearest sushi place to where I live and I absolutely love this place!

Very busy, but worth the wait. Having spent time in Japan, the food was very good. Spicy California Roll, Rainbow Roll, Tonkatsu, Tamago, Fried rice, & Gyoza was very good. The 2nd visit was not so great. Almost $ 30 for 6 shrimp and some other stuff for a meal for 1 person.

Great food for a small town. Very chill. and good sushi and hibachi. I’m sure there is much better in bigger cities. however, for a small town I would recommend Miyako’s and the atmosphere..

First experience ever to eat at a hibachi place! Loved watching the cook serve the food and show us his skills! :D The food was amazing! One of the BEST shrimp I’ve ever eaten and the broth of soup u get at the beginning is soooo amazing! We also got the Fat Tuesday roll and that was delicious ! I guess the only con would be the workers at the bar. Looks like they were just chatting with a few friends and not even paying any attention to customers. I feel like even if you have no customers at a work place u should be always be doing something, not talking with ur friends… Other then that i lovee Miyakos :)

My poor son-in-law had to work over the 4th, so when he came into town to join the rest of us we made sure to take him to Miyako for sushi. Yum yum! They have all kinds to try, and even my west Texas-raised husband enjoyed the choices. My daughter and son-in-law are pretty hard core, so they enjoyed the nigiri(red snapper and salmon), but we stuck to safe choices such as the Gator Roll, Fire & Ice, and the Granbury Roll. I uploaded a photo I hope you can see. For the four of us, including wines and beer, the evening cost about $ 100. Our waitress, Megan, was attentive, and I didn’t think(as some others have said) that it was too noisy. We really enjoyed our evening!

Best sushi in Granbury! OK, it’s now the only sushi in Granbury. Even though they have no competition, the sushi bar is not resting on its market dominance. Sushi is consistently good and the portions on the lunch bento boxes is very good. Miyako not only has a full bar, but an actual bar if you are looking for dark, cool place to recover from the heat. Miyako also has hibachi tables, but we’ve never tried it(hibachi is not really our thing).
