Awful, awful, awful. I had the worst experience in my life. The owner of this shop was rude and very short tempered. He said things to me that no man should say. He became very angry at me when I wanted him to make a ring for me and he felt I called the shop too often inquiring about the status. He told me a couple weeks and a couple months later it wasnt even started yet. He also sold me a $ 200.00 topaz stone and set it into my antique ring. The stone broke after 2 months and he said it was my fault for bashing it and the stone itself was fragile. He didnt just say it he screamed it. He is a horrible person who defends his shoddy work with insults and rudness. He should not be dealing with the public. He also intimidated the girl who was helping me when I first entered the store into defending his behavior.

I am blessed to have seven men who I can call «love of my life», my husband and our sons. When my husband and I were planning our Celtic themed wedding to reflect his Scottish heritage and my affinity toward the culture, we were able to find my dress easily and even the rare tartan fabric for his kilt and other accessories. Since we are not traditional people we knew our wedding rings would be anything but. My husband has a couple of rings he co-​designed with the DeSignet staff that I love… so to the website we went! After seeing the reverse cradle and the numerous possibilities for design I knew our search was over. Even though I am yet to remove the cradle to wear only my wedding band, I love having the option. We have received so many compliments on our rings! When it was time to go in to finalize our design, it was a wonderfully stress free experience. Harry assisted us. Patiently going over our «what if we did this’s» to finally come up with a combination that still has me beaming on a daily basis. The knowledgeable staff are professional, patient and laid back. Even though it isn’t mandatory, I would suggest making an appointment so that you can really take your time, relax and let the DeSignet staff work their magic!

So the boy and I started talking about taking the next step last fall… YIKES! Right?! This is a huge, giant even, chapter in our journey together! We chatted about it a lot including what type of engagement and wedding rings we would like. This conversation went on and off for about 6 months, really!
Well, we’re not exactly the traditional couple! We go to Ren Faires and Celtic Fests… I don’t want diamonds… He doesn’t wear jewelry… We have tats… My favorite color is green… We have a lot of Celtic stuff… There was a lot of discussion here!
I just happened to have stumbled upon deSignet’s ad in Renaissance Magazine last fall and fell in love with their designs! I especially like that they will design jewelry for you (sketch it out for free and all)! I showed the boy their site and we both agreed that they were the people that would make our rings!
The boy and I scoped out the engagement ring I liked then he did some serious thinking and researching. He came back with an even better idea that I couldn’t pass up! They have these engagement /​wedding rings combined called Reverse Cradles. You get the engagement ring with a sterling silver insert to hold the slot for the wedding ring. When it’s time, the wedding ring then slides in and there is no need for 2 rings side by side on your finger! It’s a totally cool idea and I don’t know anyone that has anything like it! This is so completely me! Always standing out in a crowd!
So the boy worked with Kim… She’s awesome! She was quick to assist with all of his questions and worked with him on the design. She also gave him advice on what stone would be best for me. I don’t remove jewelry and I’m kinda tough on it. She did a great job resolving it all and getting him the most perfect ring for me! It took a week to create and send it (though the boy told me it would be longer so to throw me off and surprise me!).
He did it on St. Patrick’s Day with our favorite Kilt Rock Band, our families, and 20+ of our friends… It was amazing! Thanks bunches Kim and deSignet!
Just a quick update… Kim was also great in assisting with getting me an appraisal so that I can get my ring (as well as some of my other important jewelry) insured. If you ask for this information immediately after purchase it’s a quick and easy process since the value hasn’t changed. Always have your sparklies insured!
