I called here to book a massage for my best friend who lives in the area. I’m on the West Coast so unfortunately I won’t get to experience their work, but I have to say that just the phone conversation to book was worth 5 stars. First of all, it’s super difficult to find a massage place in this area that’s open on Sunday. When I called, I spoke to Elizabeth who had such a friendly voice, was so patient, and upon finding out that I was trying to book this for a friend, told me they’d be closing soon, but that she’d probably be there late and would take my call. She waited while I searched my phone for all my friend’s details(address, etc.) which was taking forever due to a poor Internet connection. And she sent the confirmation email instantly. I was able to pay for the service and the gratuity over the phone, which normally might not be a good idea, but I think the reviews and my experience were so stellar there’s nothing to worry about. Maybe, just maybe, someday I’ll be able to come out and get a massage here too.

I can not say enough good things about this place. I have been to many of the classes. Yoga 1, yoga 2, yoga 3, restorative, and chair yoga. Each and every instructor are so welcoming, patient and helpful. I always leave each class happier and feeling good. the owner, Sue is an amazing soul who brings happiness to each person and everything is provided for you. Yoga mats, blocks, towels and straps. A perfect place to practice.

I’m still seeking a massage that will transplant me into another world. The two massages I’ve had at Soma Cura have come close, but the price thoroughly bites me in the a** every time that I question whether it’s worthwhile. I initially sought out this studio because my favorite masseur, Eric Cornell, who I discovered back when he worked out of Ashker’s Juice Bar on Elmwood ended up here. The massages I received him back at Ashker’s were godly, so I was elated and booked a one-hour massage with him at Soma Cura as soon as I found out. Their facility on Grand Island is fairly comfortable and peaceful. There’s a large yoga studio and some private rooms for massages. The rooms are nice and the staff is super courteous and professional. My only qualm is that they charge like $ 2 for a bottle of water. If I’m already paying $ 70 + tip for a one hour massage, I expect the little treats to feel comfortable and don’t have to worry about doling out more $, even if it is as seemingly insignificant as $ 2. Anyway, Eric Cornell is great at what he does. The deep tissue massages are always very rejuvenating, but it can be painful as he works out those muscle kinks! However, despite a Thai massage I once received in Florida, I find most practitioners are afraid to apply a lot of pressure, so it’s relieving to find one who does. However, it’s hard for me to get comfortable with the price at this facility — so I’m unsure how much I can afford to go. A half hour massage is $ 48! I would return far more if a one hour massage cost $ 50 – 55, rather than the $ 70 they currently charge.

Love, love, love this studio. Always a positive experience. The instructors are all professional yet laid back. They will push you but help you get there.

I came to Soma Cura with my mom, to try to chair yoga class. The facility is very calming, clean and the staff was welcoming. The chair yoga class was taught by Sue, and we really enjoyed it. It was actually more challenging than I expected, but my mom was able to participate at her level. She is planning to come back for the Restorative class, to try something a little slower. I’m not a consistent yoga person, but I do go from time to time back in Brooklyn, I thought Soma Cura was great, and Sue was a wonderful instructor. I hope to come back again when I visit my parents.
