We ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf and the fried salmon and chips The bacon wrapped meatloaf was savory. The bacon was not overly crunchy, not overly gummy. There was gravy on the meatloaf… Oh my… That gravy with the savory meatloaf, wow, the bacon was the«cherry on top», wasn’t needed but made it better. Sides were mashed potatoes and a stir fry style veggie The fish and chips were standard for fish and chips. BUT. THISISSALMON!!! I picked up on the salmon flavor and texture, the fried part just made it more juicy. In comparison to other bar-style fish and chips, these have less oil from frying but they make up for it in the salmon oils. Well balanced Beer Widowmaker wheat Typical wheat beer, a little on the lighter side. A little less hazy than most wheat beers because of the mix of pale ale. Not overly bitter. IBU11 Raspberry wheat Ever had Sam Adams cherry wheat? Pretty close! Less hazy from less wheat/lager style that Sam adams does. The raspberry is not intense, just enough for that aftertaste.

Fun brewery and restaurant in the heart of Downtown Junction. Beers are flavorful with several different styles to choose from. I love their Cold Shivers Ale. Usually order food from the Appetizer menu which hasn’t disappointed yet. Also, nice selection of TVs if you’re for somewhere to watch the game.

Amazing food and even more amazing service. Our girls have allergies and the staff went above and beyond to make sure our girls where safe to eat there. The chef even came out to our table to make sure he understood their allergies.

Got in late to Grand Junction with other restaurants closing, this was a good backup. The Bison Burger was tasty, but came out a little cool like it was sitting under a heat lamp for a while. Service was a little slow for the rest of the food, but the server was apologetic and covered the drinks. We tried the Widow Maker Wheat, but went home with the Raspberry Wheat in a growler instead. Sit outside if you can, its a nice area out there. Will certainly try Rockslide again on our next adventure to the Western Slope.

Food was ok. But the service totally tanked a basic experience. Pretty much had to beg the waiter for refills on water. Our party would’ve loved to try some of the beers, but couldn’t get them served to us. To top it off, an 18% tip was added to the check with no mention of this policy on the menu. Felt very cheated.

The food was delicious but the beer was gross. Both light beers tasted about as good as a Coors Light(Yuck). We ordered the Cobb Salad, some steak plate that came with veggies and supposedly garlic mashed potatoes(They came out with french fries) and the Fried Calamari appetizer(Which we were given free because the server forgot to put in my husbands order so I sat and ate my salad in front of him while he waited forever). All dishes tasted great and the server was nice but a brewery with nasty beer is a no-go.

Salmon fish and chips. SO yummy! My husband got the pesto chicken calzone and loved it! The staff was really friendly and food was super fast and fresh! Tried some beers and was in heaven. I totally recommend!

The steak nachos are fantastic! And they go well with red wine or with a martini! But that’s just the appetizer. Our main dishes — pizza and burgers — were also fantastic! Other Unilocalers have covered most things, like the beer list, the great cocktails, and the excellent service. But I did want to comment on our service experience. We had a wonderful hostess who seemed like she really enjoyed her job and was genuinely pleased to see us come in. We also had a very cheerful waitress. Really, she was probably the best waitress I’ve ever had. She was definitely busy that day, but she always approached our table with a sincere smile, kept our drinks filled, and thanked us for coming in when she delivered the check. I know it sounds like basic stuff, but we’ve all had dining experiences where it’s clear the staff would rather be somewhere else. At this place, from the moment we came in until we left, we definitely felt like our business was appreciated. The menu is huge. If you’ve never been, it’s worth a visit. There will definitely be something you want to eat, and there’s plenty of liquor to wash it down.

I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner and drinking experience at Rockslide. A cool spring night on the patio was the perfect setting for great food, great drinks, and great times with friends. The bacon wrapped meatloaf is ABSOLUTELY a must-have. Their raspberry wheat beer was amazing. And our waitress was probably the best server I’ve had in years.

Can’t comment on the beer or the food. They would not serve me as I did not have a «valid» ID. Um, I’m 46 years old and the waitress was being a snot. Too bad that they did not afford the same level of scrutiny to the obviously overserved patron in the corner or maybe he was a local.

I had the Jalapeño Mac and Cheese, and my buddy had the Salmon fish and chips. Both were pretty good. Have to admit I don’t drink so I can’t speak to the brewery side, but I was quite pleased with the food. I would return.

Decent quality pub/bar food. Menu has a lot to choose from, we ordered a couple of sandwiches. Bbq burger was decent, flavorful but a bit overcooked for me. Also the onion strings were cold and not very fresh. The chicken sandwich had some decent flavored but the chicken itself was very chewy and not the greatest quality breast. As far as beers go, I only had their Octoberfest which was okay, but I can’t really speak too much into their other beets. All in all very mediocre, not great not bad.

Very nice brewery with a nice menu in the heart of old downtown. I especially enjoyed the outdoor seating. Can’t quite remember what I had but i know it was good. Service was also attentive and friendly. Did not try any alchohol

Maybe it’s just the similarity of the name, but this place reminded me of a Rock Bottom brewery: typical brewpub menu, average beer, OK service. We didn’t order any food, but I had a Horsethief IPA and I believe my boyfriend had the amber. We sampled a couple others but I can’t even recall what they were… nothing particularly memorable, obviously. I certainly wouldn’t mind coming back again but if you’re looking for good beer in Grand Junction, I would recommend checking out Kannah Creek brewing instead.

I’m giving 2 stars for the dark haired batman who was all over our order even though it was a busy Saturday night. The food was mediocre at best with my stuffed chicken over cooked yet the vegetables cold. My baked potatoe had a blight in the middle(disgusting). Now back to the bartenders, the red headed bar tender needs to get a different job, while the dark hAired one was busy we asked him for water, you would swear we asked to sleep with his sister! Terrible attitude. I know it’s a Saturday night and crazy busy, but dude this is the job you chose! Grumpy, frowning at customers, grunts for communication, go work for the post office would ya? The only reason I can figure this place is busy is the serious lack of options in grand junction. Avoid it like the blight that was in my spud!

Being from a Colorado brewing town I was looking forward to some Real Beer after living through a week of beautiful, but mostly dry(in all senses of the word) camping trip through the National Forests of Utah. After crossing the border, my girlfriend and I hightailed it to one of the closest breweries, in Grand Junction. I ordered a raspberry wheat ale and she ordered a Rabbit Ears Amber Ale. After looking forward to that cold brew through the long hot drive, I was sorely disappointed. I should have gotten the amber… we also ordered the steak nachos to share. All I can say is don’t do it, paying $ 11 for ~10 tiny pieces of meat and 2 pieces of fatty gristle on some chips is too much. A huge let-down. Their dipping sauces were good and so was the guacamole, but it was so small that it emptied after a dozen chips. Won’t come back with so many other options.

Two stars for the food and three for the beer. The Rockslide is in a great located in downtown Grand Junction and the place was always busy. That being said, the beer was pretty average. Happy hour was pretty«meh…» and only applied to certain beers, which is kind of a drag. Service varied from attentive to MIA. We had the best luck sitting at the bar, with friendly and attentive bartenders. While sitting at a table, it often took a while to get another beer or refill of water.
I only ate there one time and my burger was over-cooked a wee bit and the fries were not very warm. Others in the party felt the food was fair at best and definitely over-priced for the quality. Perhaps it was just a fluke that we all were unimpressed with the meals we all had, but it definitely made us choose different restaurants to dine at during the remainder of our stay. We did come back often for beer, but that was primarily because the Rockslide was in close proximity to the hotel and average beer is still better than no beer.
With so many great brewpubs in Colorado, this one feels like a missed opportunity. I think the Rockslide should take it up a notch with some more interesting/creative beers and improve the menu.

The patio seating is a great addition to this restaurant. Service was friendly, food was fine, my burger was definitely overcooked but the BBQ sauce and onion straws made the meal ok.

Food is basic pub. It was fine, if you’re not expecting anything more than pub food. I had the salmon fish and chips which was pretty tasty. Hubby had the bison burger which he ate the entire thing… but he could’ve just been hungry. ;) We had beer of course. I tried the brown & berry. Pretty average raspberry beer and stout. Not terrible. Kokopelli Cream is a great basic beer. Perfect drinking for after work. American IPA was great but it’s a seasonal brew. The service was pretty good for a busy night. They had a large to go order and many big parties but we felt like we were served pretty promptly. Our waitress was very friendly and had suggestions on the beers. My husband said the bathrooms were a disaster so I didn’t go in the ladies room. Overall I’d go again. Just don’t have high expectations.
