I absolutely love this ma and pop places. I’m a local and cannot go anywhere else in Grand County for the Buffalo Brat! You’ll love the secluded location and the staff will greet you with a smile every time.

Came in with several friends very tired after a long week of snowshoeing and skiing. The staff was inviting and friendly and took our orders right away. The food was out quickly and so delicious! My friend went back to refill her water glass about 5 times and each time the owner was sweet and accommodating. I went back and ordered 2 of their homemade brownies for all of us to share and we enjoyed every bite! Sloopy’s is a great option in Grand Lake and will have my business again!

Good vegan burger for 5.75 at this convenient roadside location at the Rocky Mountain National Park west entrance. The beer battered fried green beans were also really good. Was glad to find a veggie option in this area after striking out in Grand Lake and not finding anything there.

We were looking for an outdoor place that would allow our dogs on the patio. Too hot to leave in car — even on a late September afternoon. We have passed Sloopy’s many times and never tried it. We weren’t disappointed. Both hubby and I had a cheeseburger and beer. Someone posted the burgers were phenomenal — I wouldn’t go that far but they were tasty! And the beer was cold. I liked the fries — super crispy! Not a bad view either! Based on past reviews — we thought they were open for breakfast so following morning we planned our exit of Grand Lake to RMNP with a stop here for a to-​go breakfast but they were closed. They no longer serve bfast — which was a bummer.

Stopped for lunch here at the recommendation of a friend, and it was really good. Got a BLT and a milk shake, loved it. My son got the chicken fingers with fries and chocolate milk, and my husband got a hamburger. Everything was delicious.
It’s a really small place, only a few seats inside, but there’s some more seating outside if the weather is nice. Very quaint stop outside of the main Grand Lake area. I’m told it’s where the locals go for lunch.

For a small town diner, we were very impressed with the food. We had a party of 10 and were craving some good food, so went here on the recommendation of a couple of locals. About half of us had the fried chicken and the other half had a mix of burgers and hot dogs. The chicken was wonderful, so much so we ordered some to go. a couple in our party said that the burgers were really good as well. I had onion rings which were excellent. Others had the sweet potato fries that they said were good.

Ordered «Fish and Chips» and got 2 square freezer fish patties and some frozen McDonalds fries. pretty sure they just deep fry stuff from A supermarket frozen food aisle. Like mist restaurants in Grand Lake, it does not seem they are too concerned with quality.

My wife and I stopped by Sloopy’s for a bite, ordered 8 piece fried chicken and batter fried green beans. Pieces of chicken were very small, size of game hen and over fried and the portion size of beans did not even fill container, about a third of what I expected for portion. We will not be coming back to Sloopy’s, food mediocre and poor value for your money.

We’ve loved Sloopy’s ever since we discovered it three years ago. They serve very good traditional burgers, hot dogs, french fries, great coleslaw and Malts and shakes.

Absolutely phenomenal burgers! Sweet potato fries were cooked just right. Service was fine. Dining room is narrow and not especially inviting but when you serve food this good it really doesn’t matter. On a recent trip to Grand Lake we ate at pretty much every restaurant in town and this was solidly my favorite overall experience. Did I mention AWESOME BURGERS!!!

Cute little place! Kids orders fried chicken and fries to share and I had a cheese burger. The food was okay and the service was great! We also shared a couple of strawberry milkshakes that were tasty.

Sloopy’s was such a pleasant surprise! We stayed in Grand Lake last week to hike in Rocky Mountain National Park and loved it so much we went there twice! The location is perfect (right on the edge of the park) and the food is just well executed American diner food. One time I had the cheeseburger, and while there isn’t anything creative about it, it was just a well made classic burger that tasted awesome (exactly what I needed after a day of hiking). The other time I had a hot dog and the green chili. The dog was high quality and they grill them split in half so it gets a really nice char on it. Tasted more like a sausage than a hot dog. The green chili isn’t quite New Mexico good but it’s got a nice rich pork taste with an even medium spice level. We’ll definitely come again if we’re ever in the area again!

Cute local diner/​restaurant! Went on a Saturday morning and being the first customer for breakfast they gave us 2 free cookies. Everything prepared (2 different breakfasts) you could tell were made to order using fresh ingredients. Want to go back for lunch or dinner to try their fried chicken, burgers and shakes

Ordered 2 burgers and large fries with no other customer’s present. Drove across town, and they left off 1 item. Went back, and the foreign girl argued with me that I never ordered it. My husband was with me and heard us discuss the cheese I wanted, how big the fries are, etc. No apologies about it, she pulled up the ticket and showed me, «See, only 1 burger was ordered». REALLY?
I reordered the item, and she asks what I want on it: lettuce, onion, tomato, pickles, mustard or mayo. I tell her everything but mustard and mayo. I opened the carton to see the burger, and the cook had put ketchup on the burger!
She never mentioned ketchup as an option, I guess the cook thought he’d put it on as a default from no mustard or mayo? Anyway, they both look at me like I’m from Mars when I said I never ordered ketchup. She offered to re-​do the bun, but by then, I had smoke coming out of my ears.
I said no thanks, and they both chimed in rather snottily, «have a nice day».
This is a new restaurant. You would think that they would be a. customer service driven and b.
accurate with their orders. Neither applied. I am sure when we visit in a few years they will be gone like most of the other poor service establishments that close in a few years. There are way too many places here that get it right.

Good and quick food that really hits the spot. Friendly staff and a cozy environment. Give it a shot.

Very very cute place! Great place to grab a bite to eat right after getting out of the Rocky Mountain National Park. The chicken sandwich was just a bit chewy, but my partner had a great burger! Order at the counter and you can eat there or go. Very nice service, and very traditional American.

While the taste of the well made barbecue food and smell of sizzling bacon kept me (for the most part) distracted, the food took a VERY long time.
My friends and family enjoyed the food (as did I), but, frankly, I do not think it was worth the wait.

Very cute little place. Staff was friendly and food was pretty good. Prices are reasonable as well. If we are in this area again, we’ll return. Malts were delish!

An oasis in the middle of the rocky mountain national park. Happy to find fresh and tasty burgers. I went for the veggie burger and my friends went for the ¼ pound cheese burger. Great food. good and fast service.
