You really don’t usually do a lot of shopping around when you need a funeral home for an unexpected death. I just needed someone to provide cremation services, nothing else. Maybe it was because I chose a no frills package that I got lackluster service.
I was still in shock when I went in and gave the funeral director, John, all of the information on my daughter. He created an obituary based on my answers, posted it online and then sent me the copy to review. I edited and returned the corrected obituary within 24 hours but it was several days before the posted obituary was corrected.
I was never called or informed that her cremains were available, I came in to pay the bill and found out that she had been waiting for me. The actual cremation took place in Jackson with a large cremation services company there.
All in all, I wasn’t really unhappy with anything but the level of service and care didn’t really impress me either.
