alissa is awesome. i’ll start with that. couldn’t ask for a nicer, funnier, and more helpful LYS owner. i don’t get to go in nearly as often as i’d like because it would cost me way too much money, but she even found me a cotton yarn i can knit with that doesn’t hurt my hands or get splitty. she’s so accommodating too: if you want something, or need something, she’ll see if she can get it for you. also she carries lolo bars and does collaborations with butterfly girl designs, so has spindles and batts too. i absolutely LOVE going in for build-a-batt dats with the butterfly girl and using the drum carders. if the shop was closer i would knit and spin there and hang out more often. as it stands it’s pretty far from me — yet still a more reliable source to get my ply magazine through her than delivered to my apartment at present. the only downside to the shop is that when it comes to store stock there isn’t a huge retail selection to choose from. there are some great well-known brands, but it’s not a huge variety. i love whenever she gets some indie-dyed small batch stuff in, which usually you can only buy online if you can even find it online. but it’s so different to actually get to see these colorways in person, and feel the fibers and yarn construction in your hands and try to match skeins yourself. i can’t knock her for not having the shelves overflowing with yarn though, as that’s a lot of overhead when fiber artists are often hunting for specific items.

Love this store! The owner is very friendly and was happy to show me around the store, even pointing out the yarns from local artists. They have quite a few hand-dyed yarns that I had never seen, and even carried yarn from bison! How cool is that! On Thursday nights, they have sit ‘n stitch. You can bring one of your current projects, and socialize while you knit.

Love this shop! They are both happy to answer any questions, and assist with yarn and pattern choices, as well as to let you wander around and just pet the yarns. Their yarn selection is good, providing something for everyone. If you’re used to the prices at places like JoAnn’s or Michael’s, the prices here may seem much higher, but that’s because the quality of yarn is much better. I have never felt pushed or rushed here, and I’ve also never felt like I wasn’t able to ask for help. As an earlier reviewer mentioned, sometimes«hardcore» knitters can come across as intimidating, but not at the Knitting Fairy. They have all the expertise you could need as an advanced knitter, and all the warmth and friendliness that anyone of any skill level could want.

Very cute store, lots of different yarns. I’m giving 5 stars because I drove up to the store running a bit late and they had just closed. A woman came outside, asked what I needed, and let me enter and get my items even though she was ready to leave. I will definitely go back and take a better look at their store!

I’ve only been a couple of times and while most of their yarn is a little fancy for my skill level and budget, I somehow always walk out with at least a couple of skeins because, fancy or not, it’s all so GORGEOUS. There’s not a huge selection, but the friendliness of the staff totally makes up for it. I’m normally really intimidated by hardcore knitters, but both times I’ve been in here, I’ve been made to feel extremely welcome by staff and customers alike. I even got an impromptu knitting lesson last time I was there!

Wonderful Knit & Crochet shop with beautiful yarns, great meeting space for crafters and a wonderful owner/teacher who can truly do most anything with a hook or needles!
