I had never been to a Pizza Patron so I did not know what to expect. I looked at the menu(written both in Spanish and English). The most expensive specialty pizza was about $ 9 which is a lot less expensive than any of the other pizza places. I got the La Patrona which has several types of meats and several vegetables. It took about 15 minutes for it to be prepared. I thought it was hot in the restaurant, but I am hot natured. I thought the pizza was very good. They were generous with the fresh ingredients. The crust was a little bland, but the toppings were good. If it were closer to my home I would be here more often. I was not expecting it to be that good. And they have specials that are even less expensive than their specialty pizzas.

I’ve had Pizza Patron at least a handful of times and it’s always consistent on the value you get for the money. On Tuesdays, they have what they call their«Amigo» pizza for $ 2.99 — medium pepperoni pizza. Pizza is good, and ready to go as soon as I place the order. I was in and out in less than a minute. You don’t get that kind of service at carryout pizza places anymore. They were fully staffed and anticipated an increase in business. I know it seems stupid for me to mention it, but with the way the economy is, it’s not a surprise to see 1 – 2 people running a place inefficiently on a busy sales day. The crust was my least favorite part of the pizza, but then again that’s because I’ve been spoiled by competitors with their fancy flavored crusts. I can whine all I want, but ultimately you can’t beat this deal and the quality you get for the price. Definitely plan on coming back on Tuesdays in the future. Don’t forget to bring your pesos if you have left over change from recent trips to Mexico. This is one of the few places where you can use it for goods!

So today I decided to take a break from my usual turkey & sharp cheddar on wheat on my lunch break, actually I just forgot my lunch but whatever. Boy was that a mistake! Pizza Patron is right across the street from my office so on a whim I dropped in. I’ll keep this short, the only reason this place gets two stars is because of the prices. I got a 3 topping, pepperoni/hamburger/canadian bacon, pizza for 5 bucks. However, it was NOTWORTHIT. It tasted like spaghetti sauce on toast with flavorless meat sprinkled on it. It wasn’t that the pizza was nasty or disgusting it’s just that it was completely devoid of flavor. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Pizza Patron… ever. Denard Diego
