There is nothing like live better than live theater. A friend has raved about this place for at least a year so finally when he asked if I wanted to see the production of Driving Miss Daisy well why not I loved the movie. You can’t miss the theater with the huge marquee there are few spaces right in front of the theater and a public parking lot across the street. I loved it from the moment I walked in the spacious lobby and gallery. I was glad we arrived early gave me a chance to look at the photos on the wall and the artwork in the gallery. I also ordered a libation they had plenty of offerings and the people behind the counter know how to make a good drink. Inside the theater as others have stated there isn’t a bad seat in the place. We were center stage and the prices very reasonable. I really cannot wait to return for the next production or to sample some of the other activities they have going on.

This place is a hidden gem I think. Just by visiting one time here I became a fan. Honestly there does not seem to be a bad seat in the place. The theater is a nice size with cushioned seating. The stage is plenty big for whatever kind of show they are doing there. What really stands out to me is that they place is very open to sharing with the local School District. The GP district is big on Arts and alot of talent gets to be shown off here which is a HUGE thing for kids. There is plenty of room in the lobby for art shows or whatever. I hopefully will be able to go to many different things here in the upcoming years with my kids going through school in the district. This place is like in the middle of town on the main strip and parking can be tricky but if you drive around a bit you can find it no problems. Thank you Uptown for being a huge support for your local school’s.

This is really a nice theatre with a community feel, small and intimate all the seats are good. First visit was for the Hank Williams tribute show, here today for the Cab Calloway Review. Clean and modern restrooms. The Texas Family Musicals are well-produced with excellent performances!

Uptown is a theater that has been converted into a theatre. It has an art gallery vibe to it but with popcorn, candy and alcohol. There is stadium seating and really no seat is a really bad seat as the space is small and intimate. The host was warm, welcoming and witty. He did a wonderful job of introducing the actors and getting us even more excited about the musical we were about to see.

Had our wedding here in November 2012 and it was great! Doug was wonderful to work with and everything turned out so nice. There had been a scheduling issue that could have ruined everything but he worked us to make it work out. Beautiful venue plus how often do you get to see your name in lights on a marquis :)

Fabulous venue. Great drink options — wine, beer, champagne. There is not a bad seat in the house and they have great talent from Carolyn Wonderland to Brave Combo. This is a gem of a theatre.
